ModelTrainLover: What you are seeing with all this sickness, is nothing out of the ordinary. If you were to go to another virtual coffee shop, or other chat area, you would soon find out that every family has "someone" who is sick, or has elderly parents that are sick, etc, etc.
I am 67, and back when I was 14 like you, no one told me about all the harmful things in our food, water, air etc., nor all the bad habits like excessive drinking, smoking, and bad foods vs the RIGHT foods to eat. Luckily for me I only smoked for about 6 months, never saw the sense of burning money for a stinking bad habit that eats your calcium in your teeth and bones and has 53 known carcinogens. As for food, I ate too much of the WRONG foods, and too much of it, including ice cream every night from age 24, red cap milk ( the heavy stuff with too much fat ), lots of white bread of course, uggg wheat bread, ? No way.
Then, somewhere about 45 to 50, you "usually" start to wise up. You also start to pay attention to medical findings, and, you see what is happening to many of your relatives and friends who may be older, or the same age. Like my cousin who died from smoking at age 44, my uncle who died from Diabetes at age 63 and had both legs amputated at age 53 all due to Adult Onset Diabetes ( Type II Diabetes )
In conclusion, too many of us in this world eat far too much food, and the wrong kind at that ( fats, red meat, high cholesterol foods, Pizza 5 times a week, you know the drill, I could list many more bad things. But, do we eat the veggies that we should, you know, those green things that have lots of fighting compounds that get rid of free radicals in the food that we eat? OF COURSE NOT!!!!!!!!

Now you have had your lesson for today. Heed my advice or pay the consequences later in your life young man, YOUR choice !!

Thanks Ed. Once again you have helped me out. How's the orange crop doing? We're waiting for it to dry out some before we can bale our hay. Earlyer this year we couldn't bail anything because there wasn't anything to bale. If it an't one thing it's another. We're going to have to haul some more hay in from John's place this week. The cows go through a bale a day right now.

Ryan I’m not good with names either and have trouble with mine at times. The loco is the Prototype for that one and it is still hard wired. Jim Humpfhrey is the owner of Mountain Car Company in Salem,Va and is the one that makes it and I met him through Jack back when he was just getting started. He also does other work and MCC is part of his business. According to Monique you have a lot of time,so you should be done in the time frame,huh!?!?

Thanks for the prayers everyone.  For an update, the surgeon called and wants to go over her case a bit more and call in some specialists.  He's set up a consul;tation for 10/31, so we'll see what happens then I guess.  I know your prayers have helped in guiding the doctors to the right decisions.  Thanks!  Please continue to keep her in your prayers as this is far from over.

Went to the doctor this morning for a routine physical. My blood pressure is good, my good cholesterol level is 71, bad is 78, my protien level is a little high. Here's the possible bad news. There's a possibility that I may have prostate cancer. It's been discovered that I have moderately enlarged prostate gland. Right now we're treating it like a urinary tract infection because that's what it probably is. We'll now in a few weeks. They've got me on antobiotics and flo-max.

The cholesterol level isn't a problem. The good is 71 and the bad is 78. The doctor asked what I was doing to maintain such a good level. He's on a special diet and my levels are lower than his. He was very surprised when I told him that I'm not doing anything special and I'm not on any kind of diet (Except the seefood diet, I see food, I eat it). The only other things wrong are that I have high blood pressure, I'm taking medication to control it, and my protein level in my kidneys is a little high. Now if only I could get rid of this diabetes.

Here's the possible bad news. There's a possibility that I may have prostate cancer. It's been discovered that I have moderately enlarged prostate gland. Right now we're treating it like a urinary tract infection because that's what it probably is. We'll now in a few weeks. They've got me on antobiotics and flo-max.

That's not good, either way.  Though I think I'd prefer the infection to the alternatives.  Oh, and don't worry about that steak and lobster thing.  I've found virtual food to be extemely low in fat and calories!

Good morning everyone, a cloudy , heavy overcast with fog here today, the rains came in about 2pm yesterday but only about 0.33" since then. The sun is "supposed" to make an appearance today.

JEFF: WOW, I have never seen an LDL as low as yours. I think it has something to do with living in Louisianna. A former work associate was from N.O, LA, and she had an LDL of low 80's also. It must be the crawfish, and jambolia (sp) and other spicy hot foods. LOL

Have to go, we are on a Home Depot run this morning......have to keep the stock price up...and my parking space out front....

Last layout is done and I'm home w/ my wife today as she has a severe sinus infection that gives her migranes, makes her jaw hurt and ears close up. She was up most of the night crying in pain. Gonna take her to the DR. for a follow-up and maybe something stronger. Me- i'm just gimp'n along with sore hands. can only wear those braces so long before I go nuts for lack of movement then put'em back on when it hurts to much.

Fall garden( radishes, and tomatoes) doing great in this cooler weather w/rain, got 3 tomatoes gettin bigger.

Acually, I don't eat either one of those, especially the crawfish, it makes me sick. I do however keep the makers of Tobasco sauce in business as well as Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning.

Afternoon all....It is starting to cloud up here posta rain tonite....I'll have a cheese burger and diet Coke...Power chair service man was here most of morning They are trying to talk me into another chair..One thats to large to use in the apartment....I ruffed in tunnel which I plan to graft on to a Mountain already made....Stabbed myself in the hand with steak knife I was useing to carve...Man I can have some dumb things happen they may take sharp objects away from me!! I got 6 back  N scale railroading from E bay I think I like it better than N scale magazine...Sallie has another DR. apointment today so its a long day for her and me too...You all have a good one...Jerry

Jerry, I know what you mean about the sharp objects. I accidently shoved the 4 inch long knife blade completely through my left hand a couple of years ago. Due to all the nerve damage I have I didn't feel anything except a little pressure when it went through. Bled like a stuck pig though.

My wife did the same thing about a year ago.  Shoved a steak knife all the way through her hand and didn't feel a thing.  Tip was sticking out the other side.  Then she pulled it back out.  With all the nerve damage she didn't feel anything.  We went to the hospital and the doc said it was a million dollar wound.  Didn't damage anything but some flesh.  No muscles, bones, nerves, blood vesels, nothing. 

I threw the pointy knives out and bought some round tipped steak knives.

Afternoon Gang: Not much going on here. My weekend starts in about 20 minutes. I just checked the weather map and it's 84 here and 45 in the panhandle on the other side of the front. I guess we just had a one day summer.

I was painting the Roadrunner's beak this morning and had a big run down the front. Sufice it to say I had to wait for the paint to dry and sand it out and start over again. I had planned on getting him in Saturday morning so that's out.

Ryan: I just wanted to let you know that there is no pressure being put on you. I wouldn't do that since I get that here all the time. Just have it running by the day after T-day.

I dropped my Exacto kniff one day and it stuck in the toe of my boot, just like I was playing Mumbley Peg. I've spilled a few drops ( pints ) of blood myself.

Well it's getting time to hit the clock. I hope that no one is standing in the way. I'd hat to have to run over someone getting to the clock.

Jeffrey my poor old dad's just had his prostrate taken out, through the old you know what, it makes my toes curl thinking about it, anyhow two days later a woman got caught up in the cathiter pipe and tripped up on it, poor old dad was NOT amused one bit. He on the mend now but it's taken weeks
