   Regular and a donut please Zoe. Interesting weekend between generator messups and the continued refusal of the bolts in the bottom of the RS-11 ATC box to come out and play. Seems the boys at ALCO must have put everything together then welded it in place and you cannot get access to some of the bolts. I,m now making up special wrenches to try to reach around obstacles. Did get some model railroad time in last night working on the bck corners of the lower level and planning out a fuel transfer and storage facility based on the Walthers kit.and some large salted nuts cannisters.

   RT - sorry to hear of your moms' passing. - you are in our prayers.

   Inch - prayers also for your daughters MIL and also for Fergies dad and Lisaps bunch as well.

   PABELT - ok I'll ask - why are you heating race fuel? We go out of our way to keep it cool and even out of the sun when we're at the track. Do you get over to Schenley Park in July? We go there every year and have a blast. Feel free to stop by and see us in the paddock.

   Flip - sounds like you did ok at the train show. If you overspray the silver you can go down it with a wire brush and simulate new scrapes. Just the thing..   CUL,J.R.

I see it's been interesting around here lately!

who said i was goin drink the vodka, i was goina make my mom a drink so i can have permision to go out to horse shoe bend w/ my crew, and the race fuel for the lawn mower, im racing my neigbors vetech civic tomarow, i have a S&S in it, that + race fuel =me beatin the snot out of a crappy little import

PA, there's an old saying that hot rodders know well; There's no replacement for good old displacement!  Even if that import didn't have gears to outrun you, it's got cubic inches.  Your lawn mower is going to need a lot more then racing fuel, or even AV gas, to beat something that can do at least 70 mph.  You might have him on weight, but he's gonna whomp you in the end anyways.

Jim, I get a lot of those pics by going to Google and selecting images, then doing a search.  You find all kinds of stuff.  For the food pics I search on restarant, bed and breakfast, things like that.

Had a idea this morning...I am going to ruff in a short tunnel on one end of the oval..That should break things up a little and help set the scene for the coal mine....May not work out but I am gonna try...Lost a Con Cor F 3 on Ebay Somebody wanted it very much more than I did...

PA...I go along with everbody else..Don't think heating racing fuel sounds like a good plan...

Good morning, how about on of the specials that I see up on the board today. Some hot coffee too, and a tall glass of Ed’s fresh squeezed for that vitamin C lift.

I’ve been workin on the railroad. . .  I started Friday night with making some major plywood cuts in the garage and moved those sub-roadbed pieces up to the train room. Then on Saturday I made some sub-roadbed and track alignment adjustments. On Sunday I attached two pieces of the sub-roadbed to the benchwork and made more minor adjustments to the track plan for better fits. This section is the most complicated; as it includes two sections of track that drop down and two others that will cross over them. Once this section is completed it should be much easier to put down the sub-roadbed. The other complicated section is when I start building the lift out bridge section.

Ben was able to attend the NC State football game on Saturday, his friend invited him and they really had a lot of fun, but now he is home sick today with a 100 degree fever. And I will be taking him to the doctor this afternoon. Hope he feels better soon.

PC, thanks for taking care of the meals today, so what you got for lunch today?

Inch, sorry to hear about Becky, hope she is doing better now. Prayers and intentions are added to our prayer list. The stock car is a lot of fun, they have one for cattle, one for hogs, and another for chickens, and I have only heard the hog one. It might be interesting to have one of each, get all kinds of animal sounds rounding the bend. And congrats on getting your photo posted on that web site. And nice pics of the history train too.

Sorry to hear about your mom, RT. Our heartfelt prayers and thoughts for RT and his family are in our prayer list at this time of need.

Good afternoon everyone......clear day today, 56F, and the trees are in color, not all the maples have turned yet though.

Got the garden rototilled with the last grass and leaves added into the soil.....natures natural fertilizer, now I have to add the lime before the rains come on Wednesday...the same storm that is flooding Texas with over 10", we won't get that much though, the air is too dry right now up north.

Spend some time adding all the new train purchases from trip to NH into my Excel Spreadsheet inventory form, now I have get outside and run the trakVac around the the yard to pick up more downed leaves before it gets out of control ( OOC)

SUNSET: Glad to see that the CFO is getting better with exercise...it always works buddy !!!

FERGIE: Happy to see that dad is showing improvement, the best thing for him now is to get his spirit raised so that his immune system can recover......sadness and depression is very bad for immune system and any hope of recovery.....bring him some train mags etc. and keep him updated on progress with addition, that will help.

RYAN: Thanks for welcome home to CS, much appreciated....I see you are really making great progress on your layout. Remember, the Project Flow Chart calls for 1st trains running on main line by Thanksgiving!!! LOL

MIKE: How is DIL's mother doing?

RT: How are things going for you and family?

Good afternoon, just got in from work. I almost had to row home. It's been raining all day here, I estimate over 10 inches by now and it's still going strong.

For dinner today I'll have the chicken kabobs.

Tom is applying for a job as a signalman for the local railroad and is told to meet the inspector at the signal box.
The inspector decides to give Tom a pop quiz, asking: "What would you do if you realized that two trains were heading towards each other on the same track?"
Tom says: "I would switch one train to another track."
"What if the lever broke?" asks the inspector.
"Then I'd run down to the tracks and use the manual lever down there", answers Tom.
"What if that had been struck by lightning?" challenges the inspector.
"Then," Tom continued, "I'd run back up here and use the phone to call the next signal box."
"What if the phone was busy?"
"In that case," Tom argued, "I'd run to the street level and use the public phone near the station".
"What if that had been vandalized?"
"Oh well," said Tom, "in that case I would run into town and get my Uncle Leo".
This puzzled the inspector, so he asked, "Why would you do that?"
"Because he's never seen a train crash."

Becky's stable now and they've started to bring her of a deep coma. Geuss Heather went in this morning and touched Beck's hand [not knowing] and Beck opened her eyes and looked her. Heather almost had to change her pants. Back to know more tomorrow now....

Ryan,,, I figured out how to get one of those stock cars already. Just tell the CFO the grandkids would get a kick out of it. Thats worked before.. Hope Ben's a fellin betters now.

The rain has finally let up after a straight 29 hour downpour! I haven't seen a rainstorm like that for many, many years. I think since Christmas of 83 when the lake rose 11 1/2 feet from all the flooding.

Been a while since I have been able to read all the pages I am behind in. Our prayers to all who have illness in the family. And to RT:our condolences for the passing of your Mother.

This is NESU'S TRAIN DEPOT in Hattiesburg, before the remodeling.

This is NESU'S TRAIN DEPOT after the remodel. Note the ticket bay window in the center. The building is inside is 24X32 with an 8 ft porch on the front. Total is 32X32. This is the future HO scale train room. The Garden Railroad will be located in front of the depot and will be able to run it from inside the air conditioned and heated depot. This is also where my computer will be located. It still need to be painted.

Found this waiting on a spur going into the scrap yard in Hattiesburg. Thats a FEMA roof on the Church in the background for those that are wondering.

Bad weather here yesterday and last night. Some areas had up to 10 inches of rain and winds up to 65 miles per hr. gusts. Coastal Parishes [same as Counties in other parts,] had 4 ft tital surges. That means salt water intrusion for the second time in just over 12 months. Not good. OH, and we had several tornados in LA. yesterday. Weather is supose to be better today, 88 for the high and 90% humidity. Not quite Paridise.

Dick: The rain let up yesterday afternoon. We could still use some more but after we get the hay cut and baled.

Duke: That's what we have here. 7 1/2 in gauge, 1 1/2 inch scale, 2 1/2 inch scale, and 4 inch scale. My steamer is a 4 inch scale 0-4-0T representation of a Kerr-Stuart Wren class. It weighs about 600lbs ready to run. I'll try and post a pic or two but with my puter skills and dial-up.

Still raining here, though it's calmed down.  Mostly just a heavy mist now.  Seeing as inch is just a bit west of me, I imagine it'll start clearing up soon.  So, Jeff, I know you live up close to a lake.  Is the water rising yet after all that rain?

Man, I feel like I didn't sleep a wink all night!

Listen, I've got something that's been concerning me for the last 24hrs or so.  I know this isn't a religious forum or anything like that, but if you'd permit me just a moment, I'd like to enlist the prayers of the Saints on this one.  My wife, as many of you know, has a rare form of muscular dystrophy.  Because of her particuler form of the disease she has very bad knees (one of the results of bad nerves).  Yesterday, she went to the doctors and they told her that they want a surgeon to look at her as a candidate for knee replacement surgery.  This is made much more serious because of the nerve damage that she has.  See, when people with her condition are put under (knocked out), a lot of times they don't wake up.  My wifes condition is fairily advanced, which heightens the risk.  I'd like to ask that all those of you out there who know the Lord, please be in prayer about this.  Pray that the surgeons would make proper decisions and that God would protect my wife from harm.  I know that in some way His name will be glorified in all of this and that is most important.  But in the mean time, I'd like my wife to be safe if at all possible.  Thank you for your prayers.

Sorry to be a downer first thing in the morning.

Probably why I didn't sleep last night.

I know God's in control of everything, I'm just concerned for my wife and our children.

Oh well, I better get off of here before I begin rambling on.

Good morning everyone, I awoke with sun beaming through the south bedroom window at 7am, but 15 minutes later it was gone......yup, we have that southern rain strom on our doorsteps, it will be raining here this afternoon.

I see in the morning TV news that at 7:46am today, the United States passed the 300M census mark. Between births, deaths, and "legal" immigrants, a new person is added every 8 seconds. We are now the 3rd largest populated country in the world. The question is, how many are model railroaders, or "will" be?

PC: We will certainly keep your wife and your family in our prayers good friend. The Lord "will" take good care of His child, our job is to pray. I had a serious accident back in 1992 when a ladder pulled away from the wet deck floor, causing me to hang from the gutter until I finally dropped to the deck. I ripped the patella tendon off the lower leg bone which meant having a 13" incision on my left kneww while the Doc stitched the tendon back, and brought my kneww cap back to where it belonged. I did not want to be knocked out with gas, so I had a spinal and was AWAKE during the whole operation talking with the nurse who was monitoring my vitals. Ask your wife's doctor if she can have a spinal. It may be impossible due to the time it takes to replace a knee, but worth asking.

PAUL: The farmers up here have been cutting and bailing also. They have had a GREAT year up here in New England with all the rains in the Spring, a relatively moist summer, the grass just kept growing. In fact, here it is October 17th and I had to mow the lawn AGAIN yesterday!!!! Usually I am all done mowing by the end of September, sometimes mid September. Any luck with a border collie yet? LOL . I will have to send an email to your wife, maybe I'll have better luck. Or, maybe she's afraid the dog will try to herd the trains that roll by your farm....LOL

MRR: As I was entering my new purchases into my Xcel spreadsheet last night, I thought that I had bought a duplicate. I noticed that I already had an Atlas ( Trainman) Boston & Maine Evans Gondola car!!! But I sighed relief when I read the car number, it was 9061...NOT the same road number as one bought earlier this year at another LHS!!!

Rain and cool this morning, drive was wet and a bit scary in the dark! Looking forward to when the time changes and I can start driving to work with some sun light again.

PC, thoughts and prayers for your wife will be added to our prayer list. The power of prayer is an amazing phenomenon, and I have seen it work wonders. We all hope and pray for her and the doctors to have the strength, determination, sensibility, and courage to get through the surgery successfully and for her speedy recovery.

I recognize that dig photo; I used to see that every day in New Orleans. The S&WB or Sewerage and Water Board had the same system, sometimes there would be 5 or 6 trucks parked around an area along the street, one lane closed, and about 10 workers standing around fixing a water leak.

Dick, I like your projected forecast for main line train runs. Let’s see….that gives me 37 more days to finish the benchwork, get the plywood sub-roadbed screwed in, glue the cork roadbed down, put in two deck girder bridges, install the drop down section, lay the track, wire the track, and test the DCC system. Humm….on second thought… maybe by Christmas?

I heard about the Census approaching that mark on the news yesterday, I went to the US Census web site this morning around 8:05 am EST and had already broke the mark and was at 300,000,026.

Perry, that’s a great river you modeled there! If you spring a leak, just call the S&WB, they have plenty of workers available to fix it!

Duke, oh, we met her on Saturday, but I cannot remember her name now. Great photos from the meet! I like that Western Maryland loco, was that another remote control one?

Luc, good one! I’ve never seen one either!

Inch, now that’s a good motivation for getting them stock cars, the kids love em too! Thanks for asking, Ben did go to school today, but still has a bad cold, and no fever today.

Neal, done great work on the depot I see! You have a lot of space to build that garden layout, and the depot will serve as a great shelter too.
