ArkJim! Now that you’ve come back to foot the bill, it’s safe for me to return also.[(-D]
Been away for what seems like weeks,(at least 14 pages) and no mrr in all that time.[V] The local museum is now back almost to normal, and there are even a few new exhibits. However, I’ve got a bunch more work to do to get it to where I want it. Anyone with computer skills around scanned images? I’ve scanned off about 75 pages of material about the Halifax Explosion in Dec 1917. There are filed as TIFs, and open on my computer as Microsoft Office files. I’ve got them saved on a CD, but before I delete them from my computer where they are taking up over 350 meg of space, I would like to know how to convert hem to jpegs. They are multi-page files. When I try the “Save As” route, all I get is the first page of each file, not the other pages. Microsoft’s Office Document viewer doesn’t seem to have a “Copy” function for individual pages.
Any help you could suggest would be appreciated.

Must get off to see some TV.

Evening All,

QUOTE: Laugh Out Loud

That's it!

See, you really do learn something every day!

I guess saying something about your schooling at your age was uncallfor. But by you having the schooling I was able to learn from you today. Thanks. By the way if I'm not being to nosey why are you going to school?

QUOTE: After we were there, Mother said I could build a G layout, till she seen the prices, now it’s on hold till we hit the lottery.
INCHYou want some G-Scale. Pay the shipping I'll send you some rolling stock, and maybe an engine or two. But you have to buy your own track.

QUOTE: Sundown at 8:50 pm is kind of late huh!

Well Ryan it's kind of late down here in the South. But that will be changing.

JP
QUOTE: What's even worse, is when you get up at zero dark 30 for a bathroom run and discover that the creature has played w/ the toilet paper and took it all off the roll. He's done that to me a few times in the past 2 weeks

I certanily know what you are talking about. That feline critter here does the same thing. But she will only do it in one bathroom. Whats bad about this one is she not only unraps the roll, but then she will see how far it will travel through the house.

PAUL Hope your poison ivy is better today.

Got to go.

Hey Texas

Keep a sharp eye out now for those Chinese steam engines. They just showed up in a trace at . . . . . Phillipsburg, Texas. If MapQuest gave me the correct location they are only 40 to 60 miles outside of Houston. We are going to try another trace in a few minutes and see what it says.

Right now it looks like they are headed for Ft. Worth. [:0] I will keep you all posted.

According to Zach and some of his sources the Chinese steam engines are on H HOUGAL9 21. It was around the Somerville, Texas, area about 9:30 tonight, with BNSF 838 and BNSF 636 as power.

Mornin all, how bout a cup of gear grease this morning Zoe, think my tranys slippen, can’t sleep anyway. Been up since 2:30.
Another hot one on for today with a chance of severe thunderstorms, weather guessers say 2 more days of this.
Broke down an turned the Ac on yesterday and even put the AC in our bed room, OH well it’s only money. It’s got to where this grandpa don’t do well in the humidity anymore.

Neal , the wife says she’s still 29, but with 20 years experience, and she still takes college classes. In one class she took awhile back she was older than the instructor.
I sent you an E-mail also.

JP/Neal , we have a tom cat, if he’s in the house when we leave, we have to have the TV on or he tares up the curtains and knocks the trash cans over.

Ark Jim , good to hear from you, hopes alls been well your way. You don’t happen to know why those Chinese engines are being moved do ya.

Jerry , I’m getting in to see Herman’s layout some time, we’ve had several invites. Just another place I haven’t gotten to yet. Maybe Mother n me will get things slowed down some time. How’s Sally doing?

DER , good to hear from you, we were starting to get worried.

Well need to go do something, I’ve got Kc n Leroy today, but Beth’s still here so I’ll be able to get a little more done around here, have too. Roni and her bunch [6] is coming in the 30’th for the weekend and Jamie n hers [8] are showing up the 1’st for the night. I think we’re going to have a house full. Thoughts n prayers for all in need,

Anyway pics as promised....

A Nice shiny BNSF GP38-2 From P2K, this is my second 38 my other being a SOO line one, And I love them both, A Quick Question If I may, I noticed a Athearn RTR RS3 In the D&RGW Bumble Bee scheme, Is this schem correct on this particular loco?, It looks soo nice, I might buy it next time [8D] Or some AT&SF CF7 they just got in... hmmm Decisions.... Good Morning All,
Late start to the day, I'll just have a regular to go. The trip to Toronto went well though i'm suprised at the amount of track that is still not welded rail in the US. Most of the line in Ontario was under construction as well, but we kept pretty much to schedule. More when I return (this is from the CFO's noteook). CUL,[:D]J.R.

Morning all,
Well the move to Mississippi is becomming more of a reality. Neighbor from down the road called last evening to go down and talk. Here we own the house and a 5 acre mobile home park next door. They want to buy the house and the park. We have another house and I sold that to the tenents that are living there this past week. That will leave us with one four-plex apartment to sell. And where it's at they sell fast. It's in a very desirable area.
The move to Miss. will be a consirable downsize. We will be moving from a 4,100 sq. ft. house to a 2,776 sq. ft. house. If she will let me cut off a few bedrooms it wil be smaller.

QUOTE: I sent you an E-mail also.

Mike email me direct with your mailing address and I can figure the shipping.I will also send you an inventory list of what I have. E-mail me at nealmelancon@att.net. or you can call me at 337-988-6746.

DER John we thought maybe you were snowed in in N.C. Glad to see you back. Can't help you with your puter cause I still don't know how to operate this one.

JAMES Thats a great looking P2K -38 you have there. Seems to me you have MUM brainwashed. Bringing her to your LHS and let her feel sorry for you while she watches you Drule over the stock. Very smart!!!!!

Good morning all! Well, the folks are on their way this morning, they paid a visit for five days and are heading out to Knoxville today, and then they are off to Nashville and then the Natchez Trace Parkway. Hopefully we will get to have some time off for the holidays to go back to New Orleans for a visit.

Speaking of puters, here is a funny cartoon for today:

Hope all is well with you and yours!

Well I'm just about outta here! (Going On Leave and enjoying it)

You know it's bad when someone asks "How's it going?" and you respod "Down Hill!"

You know it's bad when someone asks "What's Up?" and you respod "My Blood Pressure!"

So I'm outta here as soon as my relief shows up and I do the change over.

Found time to install the Tsunami in the FEF-2 last night, actually took three nights. I think this onre was the most perverse as it had a couple of challenges with it. Hopefully I got it right but won't find out about it till tonight.

Anyway that's it for now and tyhanks for the congradulatory remarks and sorry if I didn't respond as this past month has been especially trying.

Later

Those steam engines sound cool. Can't quite see them from here in Indiana though, not even if I look REAL hard.

JP: On HLCX, try http://naphotos.nerail.org/show/?byrail:1:HLCX
From there (and they don't have photos of your 2 locos) you might try to join the list in order to ask about them. I tried, but gave up as it was not clear to me just how to do it, and time it was awasting. Besides, they can't reply to Netscape users, for some technical spam related reason or other. [%-)]
Anyhoo, that's as close as I came to an answer. There appears to be no discernable logic in the numbering system as far as types of locos are concerned.

HCLX is Helm Leasing.

#6307 is an SD40-2
#6141 is an SD40T-2. If I'm not mistaken, that's a "Tunnel Motor". Not exactly your most common type of locomotive. Congrats on a good find.
