Yay!  Chinese!

Anyway, just got one of my two recent Ebay purchases.  Wow, was I way off on it.. I thought it was just a lot of misc cars, a loco, some (brass) track, and a LL power pack.  In reality it is a LL "Thundering Rails" set, with all kinds of goodies in it.  It's not going to fit in my room (stupid small college dorm rooms), though I have enough room to put a length of straight track somewhere and run a loco back and forth on it to see if it actually works.. I dunno..

And apparently the other of my Ebay purchases is en route to my home... good thing I;m only 20 mins away! Helps with the voting too.. don't have to worry about any absentee ballot or anything that I *would* lose in my room.

Good Morning!

How about some of that fresh coffee and a doughnut, Chloe!

Is there any of Ed’s OJ left back there too!

Hey, Flip when I saw this at the train show on Saturday I thought of you, so this photo is for you:

Ben had his middle school fall ensemble band concert last night, and for a bunch of six graders who have only been playing for 5 months they sounded great. Ben plays the clarinet, and wants to switch to drums at the start of their next semester.

Monique is taking a notary class tonight and Thursday night to become a notary public for her work.

So……I guess I’ll just have to work in the train room tonight!

Dick, I have been looking for one of those diesels for some time now, when I saw it I had to get it. That is the goal, to have a least some track up and running by Thanksgiving, and that gives me just 17 days.

Paul, sounds like the meet went well. I know what you mean about taking photos; it does take away from the pure enjoyment of the event. Now that you are starting to see the light at the end of the retirement tunnel I bet it kind of scary, but now there will be more time for trains eh!

Welcome Fargo to the Coffee Shop! Sign - Welcome [#welcome] Have a cup of the fresh hot brew on me!

PA Belt, sorry to hear you missed school. Drink plenty of OJ and you know some hot chicken noodle soup really does help with the sinuses. Warms you up inside too!

Inch, I can say yes to about half of those corporate America statements. And thanks for the thoughts for Ben; it is hard when there is nothing you can do physically to help your own kids. But moral and spiritual support go a long way too! Thanks!

Dick, I could see me working part time at Home Depot or Lowe’s after my full time career is over, kind of like a kid in the candy shop ya know! My went the consulting route after he “retired”, and now he makes just as much or even more than he did when he had his fulltime job. He works out of his home office with three other guys that were given the early retirement package about 10 years ago.

John, 3.5 mile walk in 40 minutes is pretty good time there!  That’s about 5.25 miles per hour, sounds like running to me! I can average about 3.5 to 4 miles per hour on the treadmill for 30 minutes, sometimes an hour, but not too often.

 NESU wrote:

RYAN: Great looking pictures, but who is the old man in the picture?LOL

Neal, you might be referring to the photo of Kim Parker holding Flat Stanley. He is the owner of Train Buddy train shop here in Wake Forest. And nice photos from the Louisiana and Mississippi areas, and I will always have a place in my heart for the old stomping grounds of the Gulf Coast area. And thanks for the thoughts and prayers for Ben.

Jim in the Cape, congrats on the models you picked up. And thanks for the prayers for Ben.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] back Adam! Have a cup of fresh hot brew on me! Sorry to hear about the hospital stay, hope you are okay! Glad to hear otherwise that all is going well with you and the family, but your announcement to going N scale….we need to talk! LOL Just kidding!

Morning all!

Well, he's what it looks like around here.....

So, we got voting going on today, people going to work, people enjoying retirement after a lifetime of work, and those that are sick or recovering.  My prayers go out for all of you.

Oh, and I'll have some breakfast.......on Jeff!  Thanks Buddy!

Good Morning All,

Same weather as yesterday - cool and overcast. We may or may not get some rain later. Regular coffee and a blueberry muffin for me please Zoe.

Trip to Electric Boat went well. We met the crew that took care of the two 44 tonners they gave us this spring and they handed over all the spares they had for the two locomotives including the Hancock whistle from the ex New Haven unit. That alone was worth the trip. No pics of course as the entire place is a camera banned secure facility. The plant(s) itself  would make a great stand alone layout with tracks in streets everywhere and cranes and huge cradles leading out to the piers and drydocks also equipped with their own trackage.

Not much accomplished on the home layout last night. I'm to the point where I need to finish wiring feeder wires and switch motor leads then test it all  before buttoning up the fascias.

Time to pick up tools and Don't forget to vote. CULBig Smile [:D]J.R.

Morning All,

Just wanted to remind everyone to

" GET OUT AND VOTE"

You have some rights because this is America.

1  You have the right to choose between the Elephant and the Jackass. If you choose the elephant they will become "Jackasses" when they take office.

2  You have the right of free speach. Even though no one listens.

3  You have the right to hire an Atty. if you can afford one. If you can't the court will appoint a looser that couldn't make it in the real word.

4  You have the right to choose the auto you want but the finance co tells you you have to size down to an auto you don't want in order for them to finance it for you.

5  You have the right to bare arms until you are stopped returning from a hunting trip. They put you in cuffs, set you on the side of the road with your legs crossed, in the rain, conficate your shotgun and 1/2 box of bird shot and call you a terrorest.

6  You have the right to eat the foods you want until to go to purchas it and you find out the government has baned it from the shelves or from the local fast food joints.

Well thats six I could think of real quick. Maybe you can think of more.

Later.........Neal

Well, long time no see everybody, im back and ready for action!!! Its been a long time sense i have been in here! We have alot of catcing up to do. I have switched to N scale and have most of my benchwork done for the new layout, i will put some pictures up later. I was in the hospital last weekend but i am doing better now. Im still fightin fire and, i am now a Hazmat technichian so i can go handle all sorts of chemicals and stuff. Im finally in my senior year of school, it seems like just ysterday i was starting high school. I can get my license in december, i can't wait! I just bought a truck too, its an '89 silverado 2500, it is in extremely good condition, my dad wouldn't have let me buy it otherwise. Me and the Girl Friend of five months are extremely happy together, she is very supportive of the hobby and thinks it is cool. We just went to homecoming this past saturday. As far as future plans go, i hope to be in college, not sure where yet, and studying to be an RN.

Well thats all i can think of for now

Happy Railroading!!!

Good Evening, Chloe - since PC's the lucky guy buying tonight, I'll just have a cup of hot chocolate, please - it's about the same color as the Censored [censored] stuff that's being slung back and forth on the airwaves lately. I will be sooooo glad when Wednesday is here...

One nice thing this year, is that I will be able to just vote for the (few) people I want to see get elected to their offices. None of that 'straight party ticket'... stuff. Of course (contrary cuss that I am Wink [;)] ), my historical voting records has been about a 50-50 (or 60-40 sometimes) split on my votes over many years, so what's new? Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Picked up some stuff
tonight at the MRR club meeting that I'd ordered. Yeah!! [yeah] Got in a Walthers Santa Fe diner that was on sale, an Accurail (RTR) D&RGW boxcar, a couple of pairs of Classic Metal Works truck trailers, plus couple of Faller stone sheets for scratchbuilding. The CMW truck trailers look nice. Oh, I won a Roberts Printing Co. kit on eBay that's on the way here, and I need to get a money order tomorrow to send off for a Weekly Herald (old Revell) kit I also won on eBay. The Faller stone wall sheets are a bit thicker than I'd like - trying to figure how I can thin them down. They're like there's an 1/8" foam backing to them... Confused [%-)]

Prayers for those of you with ailments and/or troubles currently, including
Inch, Fergie, Jeffery, Ryan and others I may have missed in need of Angel [angel]Angel [angel].

Well, time to head for bed. Tomorrow is payday (yippee!!) Yeah!! [yeah] Almost makes up for some of the election ads. But at least by Wednesday morning those will be gone. Smile [:)]

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau
