Sounds like you got a pertty good haul there.

Yep Smile [:)] and the track is pretty decent too - suprised about that because it was $10 incl. shipping (wow, what a steal).  I don't have any room, so I've just got 4 sections of straight track on the windowsill hooked up to my tech 4 220, to run my locos back and forth.  I got my other goody from ebay when I got home - a Mehano 2-6-0 lettered for the NYC.  Runs smooth as butter... Big Smile [:D] (well, after i took it apaor and freed up the siderods).

That old Mantua 0-4-0 is going to need a little help though... the motor doesnt sound too happy about running, and it sparks a lot. While the sparks do look pretty neat, I'm not entirely sure that they're supposed to be there... probably just need to clean the wheels and put a drop of oil on the drive shaft or something... any other suggestions?

The something or other diseasel that came with the LL set runs pretty well too, even with only 4-wheel drive and traction tires... not that it's all that important to me.. it's gonna get shelved at some point, as it doesn't fit my time frame at all - though just couldn't pass the set up.. or amybe it'll just be sent back to the depths of Ebay or something like that...

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Jeffery. Now that I'm full I guess I'll have a good cup of JO to wash it down.

RYAN:

Neal, you might be referring to the photo of Kim Parker holding Flat Stanley. He is the owner of Train Buddy train shop here in Wake Forest.
Sorry I thought that might be you in the picture. Didn't mean to talk about your friend.

STEVEBLACKLEDGE:

I got my MRI scan results yesterday and i found out i have a tumour on the left side of the brain, the good news is it's not got any blood supply so it's dead along with around three inches of brain, oh well, i'm brain dead, joking apart i'm very lucky,
I think you are very lucky. Lets pray it stays like that.

Dick I watched this movie a week or so on one of the channels and enjoyed it as if I was seeing it for the first time. I have probibly seen it 5 or 6 times.

FERGIE:

Don't know hat's wrong with me as I've bought two Diesels in the past week...
Know how that is. I had always had the steam until a few yeats back. Saw a Diesel and was hooked. Glad to hear your Father is improving. We pray he will continue to improve.

Well started to the poles to vote. What a joke. We have two voting places that are about 1/2 mile apart. Yesterday some joker decided it was time to overlay the road in front of the two schools. They layed down the oil and had all their equiptment blocking traffic. I know that turned a lot of people away. They were trying to raise both property taxes and sales tax. Both failed LOL Figured it to be the Demo's trying to get a foot in the door but they failed to.

Well got to run will catch you all later............Neal

One thing about it ModelTrainLover, the republicans did it to themselves. No matter where you move, it's gonna be the same. Believe me, I know. I've lived in many places.

Well, the Trainmaster is off to school for the day and I don't have to go anywhere until ten. So I guess I'm here until then.

Fergie: I'm still pulling for your dad. Any improvement is good. Now that the builders showed up with the lumber did they also have there hamers, nails, and saws?

Time to punch in so I'll see you all later.

Thanks Pc, it's nice to know somebody's looking out for me and the others. It;s going to be an interesting trip to Pineville today. I'll have to pull off somewhere to take a break along the way. It's only 60 miles but driving causes me quite a bit of pain.

Good Morning All,

Fresh coffee and a donut just the thing this bleak morning. I'll go easy on Jeff and get my own. Drizzle and clouds with rain on and off predicted for today. Museum work last night aligning sidings and switches at the end of the yards after doing a cleanup under the benches. Brought a Lionel 2 -6 - 2 back to the shop to try to fix the worn axels.

Fergie - is a 40 tonner the imperial equivalent of a 44 tonner? No pics? I agree on the 5 axel C-Liner you and Rob got. I have the New Haven delivery colors version on order as well (since they are coming from the great white north they understandably got your northern versions done first). And don't worry about the detour away from steam. I also got an IHC 4 - 6 - 4 Hudson to convert to an I-5 and I like it so much I may get another to leave as is. Just need to see if I can fit DCC and sound into the tenders.

Dick - How is the layout coming ? Don't recall seeing any progress updates lately or are you waiting for the snow to fly before devoting more time to it? Are you planning on the Amhearst show again this year? I've already been signed up to work the DRM  booth so I'll be there for sure.

Jerry - shortening the hoppers is more difficult than you might think. If they are like the gon I used for the mine cars there is a steel sheet between the base and the bottom of the car you will need to cut. Best bet I think is to pull one apart first to see what obstacles you might have. On the gondola the steel sheet was stamped and hard as heck to cut through. Good luck anyway.

Got to run - coffee's almost gone and work is waiting - still the same Lotus 7 but we're getting there. CULBig Smile [:D],J.R.  The faster we go the behinder we get.

Good morning all. From what I've seen on other forums things aren't shaping up well for the republicans this time around.

Democrats Close in on Control of House
Democrats Win Key Senate, House Races
GOP Senators Ousted in Pa., Ohio, R.I.
Dems on Track to Take Governor Majority

Could the republicans not see the hand writing on the wall 4 years ago?
I don't think they'll be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat this time.

I'll take a traditional English breakfast this morning.

Good evening folks. I just have to have some of those salmon sandwiches Dinner [dinner] Wow I depart for a while and the food service goes through the roof in this placeLaugh [(-D]

Steve-I'm glad to hear that the medical report was good Thumbs Up [tup] Now watch out and don't kill yourself delimbing that tree. I almost did myself in this summer cutting away some limbs on the big sugar maple in my back yard.Oh BTW if anyone's interested I've left some homemade syrup from that tree in the fridge.

fergie-I'm glad to hear that dad's improving !I'm eyeballing those 5 axle clinners myself I'll likely go for one of the Super continental painted one's. can't wait for that PC unit to come out.Dick that 2-10-4 is an IHC Mehanno makes them for them, more interestingly is that one of our bigger food store chains Loblaw's has these train sets made every couple of years, usually steam powered.

Luct-thanks for the updateing the rememberance week for everyone. as the yhears go by I feel it becomes more and more important that the rest of us stop and pay our respects. This year heather and I will again attend the 11th service at the Canadian Warplane Herritage Museum. Afterwards The Lancaster, the Dakota , the Fairy Firefly and the Canso are schedulled to do flybys ( weather permitting ) Nice to see that VIA is running a speacial train again this year. This one commemerating all the Warbrides that came into the country at the end of the war.

JEFF: Why didn't you tell me you worked for the CIA ????? LOL

FERGIE: The CN 2-10-2, Mehano??? Is that the vendor? I never heard of it.
Glad to hear that dad is improving, and good to see that lumber has arrived, the weather is very cold in Alaska, and that always means warm weather on the east side of the country.

MIKE: I plan to get the DVD, I think it will be a collector's item.

Don't know hat's wrong with me as I've bought two Diesels in the past week...

Yeh say it's not so

a 40 tonner by Bachmann, real cute too

and a 5 axle C-liner in CN green livery, man it rocks. President's Choice is releasing a  CN 2-10-2 (Mehano) with Elesco Feed Water Heater. That should be a keeper!

Dad is slowly getting better but no release dater as of yet and the builders showed up today with Lumber.

Later All

Good afternoon guys, check out what PENTREX just came out with !!!

RAILFANS CALL IT THE MOST EXCITING TRAIN ACTION MOVIE EVER MADE!
NOW AVAILABLE FROM PENTREX ON DVD!

"EMPEROR OF THE NORTH"

Starring Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, and Keith Carradine, this epic action film takes place during the Great Depression, when drifters rode the rails and it was the mission of railroad bulldogs to keep them off. EMPEROR OF THE NORTH pits a crafty train-hopping character called A-No.1 (Marvin) against Shack (Borgnine) who is the cruel, intolerant conductor of Engine 19. When pride turns their determination into obsession, the clash escalates into a fight to the finish that only one man can survive!

EMPEROR OF THE NORTH was filmed in 1972 on the Oregon, Pacific and Eastern Railway near Cottage Grove, Oregon. It features the railroad's rolling stock and its two steam engines, particularly 2-8-2 Mikado No. 19. Released originally in 1973, this exciting movie and been in constant demand due to its gripping, action-packed scenes and nonstop suspense. The highlight is one of the most spectacular fight scenes ever filmed on or around a moving train!

EMPEROR OF THE NORTH is rated PG for violence and graphic language. This new DVD is in widescreen format and offers special features including commentary by noted film historian Dana Polan as well as TV spots and theatrical trailer. Color, Close Captioned, Stereo and Mono sound.
NTSC DVD Region Code 1: US and Canada
