Hi Clubbers- Just a short in and out.
Played 'phone tag with Duke. He spoke with Deb, and MAY call back. Heck of a way for Fla. to greet a tourist. Could have been a worse storm. The rain put out 18 fires but there are still 150 going strong.
I'm between clients, on my lunch break. Yeah, lunch at 9:05 a.m.!

Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals will be Saturday night, Edmonton Oilers scored a goal in overtime to take the series back to their home, and the score was tied 3-3 at the end of regulation. The Hurricanes lead the series 3 games to 2.

These late nights of watching games that end around 11:30 PM are starting to take the toll on my brain! I just want to go back to sleep!!!!!

An Amtrak passenger train collided with a flatbed truck near Paradis in St. Charles Parish in Louisiana yesterday. It is unclear at this time what caused the accident or how severe the passengers were injured. Here are some photos that I found from the Times-Picayune newspaper web site.

Emergency crews had to take several passengers to a local hospital due to injury:

PC, You got that right! The sun is finally showing today! My rain gauge reads up to 4 inches, and it was topped well before the rain ended yesterday. It is still full today, and I need to dump it out for the next rain fall. Some areas around here reported over 6 inches of rain yesterday.

Paul , when I got a job cutting brush along the right-of –way on the track from Paris to Danville. We always had a watcher, but with 4 chain saws running, they could still sneak up on us once in a while.

Good Morning All,
Coffee and a blueberry bagel please Zoe. Saw slides of the Durango and Silverton railway last night along with the 50th anniversary tape of the Pioneer Valley Live Steamers facility in Mass. Impressive stuff, wish I had the time and patience to do that. Apparantly they now have 1700 feet of track with overpasses, trestles and a tunnel. The interviews where the locomotives were built were impressive.
Off to Watkins Glen tomorrow early. I may be able to leave early if all goes well as the one customer 'm going for wants to maintain his own car and I'm all for that. If I do get to come back early I'll go over to the museum and help out with the show. Turns out Metro North is also working on the loop track between the museum and our yard and want to tear out the pedestrian crossing just in time for the shows. That should be fun. Tons of time and money invested in the show and no way to get the public to it. Left our pres to work it out last night, but he was not a happy camper at all.

Jerry - didn't the doc tell you spam was off your diet? Hope your missus gets some help at the doctors today - that dialysis stuff sound potentially serious. Can you get a copy of the instructions off the web for your building? Just a thought.

Paul - watch your back. I think if a freight "snuck up" on me it would take a decade off my life. I don't suppose they would consider giving you a short term schedule would they?

Evening All: I got started on clearing the brush and trees over hanging the UPs right of way by our crossing. I'll have to get my sons gas pole trimer to get any further. Most of the cutting that needs to be done is too high to reach with the chain saw. A UP freight snuck up on me while I was working but since I was down by the fence it wasn't a problem. I have contacted the UP about having someone watch my back while I mow. Someone is supposed to get in touch with me.

My son John has just about finished the overhaul of the steam locomotive. It will be ready for a run soon.

Not much else going on so I'll head out.

........I was just going to say that everytime that I show up everybody leaves .....but I see that both paul and inch are here .....So hello guys....My typing is getting better and faster..I just got a class reunion letter from home[ Lexington,Ky] '55 and I'm not going to far and also expensive......CLOE please mud with choc. Repainted the clouds again I still don't like the way they turned out....So I'm going to clean up the sprayer and start over again tomorrow.......Dr's app today............We are so glad for DEB that everything turned out well...............Never had a chance to play rugby ..to many rules for this poluck and I loved to play football...6 yrs..Kathy is doing better but still having a strange time with sugar....sometimes perfect and than again sometimes so d** bad that it drives us nuts.....PC thanks for the mud...........Prayers for all in need...Got to get ready for Dr....I may be back later today......Chuck and Kathy..........P.S. NESU , sorry to hear of the passing of ceobayline, and now the burthen of Nesu, I guess. But the later is easier on stiff fingers.

Paul , glad all the tire repair cost was 12.50. It cost me that last summer to fix the back tire on the riding mower sidewall, but a new one was $35.

Nigel , like your layout pics. My wiring never looked that good.

OZ Jim , never could understand all the rules for Rugby, but it looks like fun. Think I’ll stay with football here.

More rain, rain, rain…. Alberto depression is still passing over us and might finally pull through by the drive home from work this afternoon. I think the drought is finally over, and we have more than 3 inches of rain this week. Maybe I can mow the yard soon??


Stanley Cup final game 5 is tonight on NBC at 8 pm Eastern time. Carolina Hurricanes lead the series 3 – 1 with the Edmonton Oilers. GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!

Hurricanes win tonight and they will seal the championship!!!!
