Good morning all!

Really late practice made morning earlier than usual.  So I'll do my coffee and donut now and sleep until noon. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Since it's joke time in the shop....... A 75 year old man walks into a bar and sees a 65 year old woman.  He walks up to her and says, "Hi! Do I come here often?"

Good afternoon all!

Finally awake and rested.  I'm now ready for our gig tonight.  Being a musician is great since you get to sleep in, unfortunately when you get to bed between 1 and 3 in the morning, sleeping in in a necessity.

I do have a MMR question for all of you experts...... Is there a good book or manual on locomotive maitenance and repair.  I have been trying to figure out how to get to the moving parts on our engines so I can oil them.  It is not as straightforward as it should be especially on the BLI engines.

I'll check in later.

Well, it's a hot afternoon in Cape Girardeau today (89 F, but feeling like you're in the broiler oven) - good day to pop into the CS here and get a nice, cold frosty root beer float! [Yum!]Dinner [dinner]

I got some of the cork roadbed up (let's see now...) Thursday evening, after I found my putty knives. I'd put them in one of my 'MRR stuff' boxes, and then got Confused [%-)] about which box it was in... So today (after I get back home from here), I will be taking my jig saw to the plywood and then re-gluing cork (in sheets this time) in the industrial switching area. Get things settled on the height (need to raise the mainline area a bit, plus an area where a road is at the back of the sections), and then I can start on tracklaying and scenery.

Paul, I hope your weather has had some rain, if you're having the hot weather we are predicted to have for the next few days. Disapprove [V] The heat indices are supposed to be 100 (F) and above, for 3 or 4 days(!). Time for that A/C!

I need to get the car's A/C re-charged, but payday's another week away, so time to use that 260 degree A/C. That, and find the shady parking spots when I drive anywhere. Whew!

I'll try to check back in later today. Sure do miss not being able to see who else's in the Shop with the new software. Guess that'll be in version 2007, huh?

Everyone have a fun time (and stay cool) this weekend!

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Hi Gang: I'm taking a break before going out to take care of the animals and get the cows out of the well site. It's about 101f and 65% humidity with not a breath of wind blowing. Now if I can just get myself to go out there.

I had a normal day a work wishing that I was home. Actually it was pretty normal for the day after my days off. The water level in the alligator pond was overflowing and there was no dye. Today that was not too bad since it kept me out of a very hot un-airconditioned shop. I won't have time to get to the basement. By the time all is done with the animals it will be bed time. Still no rain. The weather guessers say maybe Friday. I think they just tell us that to avoid the linch mobs.

I've been noticing that when hitting "Enter" to space parragraphs. you get 2 spaces. At least it looks like 2.

I miss being able to see who else is in the CS also. Maybe Bergie can do something about that in the future.

Well I'm off and crawling. Take Care All

Just a quick one here. I checked the tempature at the well site while I was getting the cattle out. It was 105.7f. It didn't feel any more than 102f. When it gets over 100 it dosen't make much of a differance.

Well well well...Hello everyone. I haven't been on since I unlocked my account. I cruised the Coffee Shop a bit that night, but didn't post anything because I had to get to bed.

All last week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 to 4:30, I was at Hagerstown Community College helping to teach the College for Kids Intro to Computer Game Design course. They all got to make games in Microsoft PowerPoint. They had some real good products after the week was done; a very creative bunch they were. Three of them were even programming in BlitzBasic, but they had previous experiences with it. It was fun, and gave my 44 Student Service Learning hours...Although, I didn't need them. I have previous completed 92 hours, and Maryland only requires 75. So now I have over 130. Smile [:)]

I'm not sure if I diggin' the new forum layout. I guess it'll take a while to get used to, but so far I think I like the old set up better.Confused [%-)]

Good morning all!

Coffee and a donut then bed.

Great gig tonight.  We were in Staten Island at a Christian coffee house.  The place is a bit strange but then we're a strange band so it all fits.Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]  The only downside to NYC gigs is the drive.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.  OBTW, anybody know of a good MRR store in Austin, TX??

Mornin' Zoe, I'll have a cup of black coffee. Thanks!

Well I'm back in Huntsville. I don't know whether I got the job or not. Hopefully I'll hear tomorrow. My trip north also included a trip to my home town (a tidbit I didn't tell you). Some of you may remember that I was going to be a grandpa.

Well now I am! Piper Leah was born on July 10th. she was 9lb 6oz and 20in long. She slept most of the time I was at the hospital visiting her. She is home now and both mother and daughter are doing just fine.

We also visited the Strasburg Railroad and the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum. Great trip!

Later.

Mornin All!

Hi Chloe!  Big day today, so I'll just have the coffee to go,......Thanks!

Well, I bought a bunch of furniture yesterday.  I got two new living room sets, one for the formal living room, and one for the game room.  I already picked up two new bedroom sets, one for each of the kids, and a new casual dining set for the kitchen.  Now I just need a formal dining set, a desk and some bookshelves for the library, an LCD TV for over the fireplace, and some incidentals to dress it all up and I'm done!  If theres anything left I'll get new bedroom furniture for the wife and I.  Man, it is going to be so nice to move into this brand new house with brand new furniture!  I'm tired of fixing all the old stuff.  Now someone else can have it, or it can stay in the house when they knock it over, I don't care!

Today I've got to sell my bird.  Echo is a Sulfer Crested Cockatoo that's been our pet for a few years now, but we just can't keep her any more.  I've got a lady coming to look at her today, so we'll see.

I've also got to help get this house straightened up.  We've been on the run now for a couple of weeks, and the house is a pit.  The wife and daughter have a baby shower to go to, so it's just the boy and I.  After all that, I'm forseeing a quiet evening playing video games with my son on the big screen TV.

What's up with you guys today?

Gettin' inta trouble?

Stayin' outta trouble?

What's up?

Morning all from sunny, hot and humid Syracuse!

CFO called me at 7:30 this morning. Seems that sometime between 1am and 6:30 this morning, her Ford Escape, along with several other vehicles (edit - 7:44pm est: 30-40 vehicles according to police reports now) in the condo complex, as well as signs, were 'tagged' by some Censored [censored] with Orange spraypaint. The local cops woke her up to tell her this. Needless to say, she is not a happy camper! And I for one, do not blame her one bit. Censored [censored]

Inch -

  Thanks for the well wishes!

Attaboy -

The same goes for you as well, Thanks! Also, if they have it in your area, instead of waiting for the cable company to offer high speed internet, try the phone company. Ours (Verizon) is even going to offer cable eventually Disapprove [V]

Alex - Happy B-Day [bday] Not sure if I am late or on time with this.

Well all, just stopped in before heading out to a graduation/birthday party for my cousin aka goddaughter. I am so not looking foreward to it as it's going to be 95 & humid out this afternoon. I wish I could just stay here at the apartment and enjoy the a/c. Oh well, such is life.

Back to work tomorrow afternoon for the 'nightshift' this week.

Enjoy the day all!
