Coffee in a large UNION PACIFIC mug, please & thanks.

"Happy Easter"

***Jerry, congrats on the addition of the Life Like SD 9.

***Jeffrey, that railbox looks great!Thumbs Up

Wife is off to pick up her dad. He fell again and has been on the floor for hours. It is OBVIOUS MIL cannot take care of him (or herself for that matter) so once again FIL will be with us awhile. But this time, when SIL returns from her vacation (my wife doesn't want to bother her), she can start the wheels moving to find an assisted living facility more in line with where they are at now. (perhaps a nursing home)

Tomorrow our train stuff is scheduled for delivery. Too bad I'll have my hands too full to do anything with it when it arrives. Tomorrow is also the rescheduled Farrier day.

Well, off to do critter rounds now. Have a good day all.

Good morning, and Happy Easter to you all...

As usual, there was quite a bit to catch up on in here this morning. Good grief, I crash-out early (ended up going on a field fire shortly after I wrote "so here I comfortably sit"...jinxed myself for sure on THAT one) as I was wiped out exhausted; and come back to find seemingly dozens of posts to go through.

Saw a news article this morning about a fire station getting destroyed by a twister in Aiken County, SC...thought immediately of our young Mr. Sawyer...but then saw where he posted he was OK and 10 miles from the monster.

I see we have a lady who ditched her wheelchair and is walking around the neighborhood...that's GREAT!

Let's see what else... diabled/re-configured pie catapults, flying pieces of cake, and men in white coats with the limited mobility jackets... Hmmm. Just another day or two in the Diner...Whistling

Again, Happy Easter, now I'll grab me a plate of that ham somebody was slinging in here earlierDinner.

Stay SAFE, especially those in Mother Nature's way today...

***Sawyer, did you get to see that tornado from where you are? Exciting and dangerous things they are.

Nope, it was 10 miles away and also it was night.

Early Afternoon Gang: Not a whole lot going on here. Mary Ann is fixing a turkey for dinner. We're all going over to the daughter's house. She is having the dinner there and then she is having all the extended family and there kids for desert and easter eggs. I may go and hide in the grand daughters reading nook, under the stairs. It is really nice there, cozy and there are a couple of lights for reading. I'd better take MR and Trains with me.

Barry that's great news about Audrey. Please give her my congrats.

Well I'd better get going. I need to clean up my reading pile by my chair and then do the floors.

Happy Easter to everyone.

Ray- Did I tell you to start your lawn mower in the winter? Sorry, I'm old. I forget. I just drain the gas from the carb (run it til it dies) and hope for the best in the spring. so far so good.

I'm glad to see so many take the time to stop in and give Easter wishesBow Even if you don't believe, you allow others to express theirselves. You folks are truly good people one and all. Once again Happy Easter.

Happy Easter Diners!

I hope everyone enjoyed their day and had a great dinner too. We went out to lunch this year with SIL and MIL plus 1 neice. We were going to have everyone here but my wife just couldn't face doing a dinner without her Dad. Everyone else felt the same so a lunch out was a good way to get everyone together without the sad remembrance.

The snow is slowly melting much to the dismay of Pippa. She hates wet grass and so I have to carry her over to the snow so she can do her business. It's raining now which was a foregone result after I washed the car yesterday.

The river crest is now just going through the city and luckily the ice jams broke up. The floodway is nearly full too and that is a lot of water as the floodway has the capacity of a good sized river. When it was finished in 1966 I remember that they moved more earth than the construction of the Panama canal and it has just had it's capacity doubled at a cost of $600 million. It got so expensive as they had to replace quite a few bridges over it.

Barry, Great news about your wife. I'm sure you and especially her are overjoyed at her getting her mobility back.

Jerry, Sounds like you got a great buy on that loco. I must admit that I've been looking longingly at a couple of N steamers. I may get another of those Model Power Pacifics.

See you soon,

CN Charlie

I just finished installing a DZ125 decoder in this GP40. Anybody notice anything unusual about it? Put your sharp peepers to work. Sawyer, you already know the answer so don't tell the others.

Sawyer, I saw it in/on "The Secret List," an internet based firefighter safety "publication" I subscribe to. It has news about firefighter Line of Duty injuries and/or deaths, safety alerts, etc. This qualified as a "close call" under the headline of: Close Call! Un-Occupied Firehouse Struck and Destroyed by Tornado in South Carolina. The Silverbluff FD on Hwy. 278 in Aiken County, SC. They lost their station, new tanker-pumper, "first-out" pumper, and a brushfire unit.

Again, glad yer OK...the U23B as well.

Coffee refill, please & thanks.

***C.N.Charlie, holidays will be a bit tough for her. At least there was still a family "get together".

***Jeffrey, if it has nothing to do with steps, hand railing, air horns or something inside the cab, I doubt I could see it "even if I had a clue what it is", which I don't.

Exhausted. Turned out to be a major farm day, mostly re-trenching for water runoff. Still much work to do, but at least I made a dent. Lots of rain coming.

Have a good night all. Cowboy Rob

There are two major clues. The fuel tank and the trucks, and it has nothing to do with color.

It's not that and yes, that's something that doesn't apply. Let just say those trucks are somewhat significant.
