(snaps fingers) That's right JOHN Gage. And Roy....(pause. then return from trip to IMDB.com)....DESOTO! I did not realize the show lasted that long. I really only remember watching a couple of seasons. Well come to think of it I remember when the truck got the new front grille style so that would have been what 76? I guess I watched it much more than I thought....
EDIT: No wait. Dodge made the big grille change in '77 so then I got my D.L.in '78...then work to support D.L. activities (car) then TV goes backcorner. All becoming clearer now.

JPowell TMarsh Chris-Wouldn't happen to be Squad 51 you are referring to would it? Or am I showing my age to say I watched "Emergency", let alone say it was one of my favs (and Adam-12) when it WAS NEW!! Luckily I can say I was but a young lad. Let's see Ken Gage and oh, what was his characters name? Kevin Tighe played him? He drove most I think. Hmmm. John Gage - Randolph Mantooth Roy... - Kevin Tighe And all of these shows are out on DVD now.... Sites like Amazon.com have them, and stores like Target and Best Buy have then as well.

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
Goooooooooooooooooooooood morning. It is suppose to be about 43 today, and sunny. You know what that means!!!!!!!! Well I really don't but anyways........
Barry, I don' know why you are trying to sneak in. I was told we won't get any pies till this afternoon .
Well I guess I will work on the layout some more. Kinda working at the scrap/junk yard.
The wife has a CAT scan this morning. Hopefully we can see whats going on.
Called about getting the car to the shop about a light coming on, and a sound coming from the left front tire. Of course the guy at the dealership wasn't listening. Told him about a light coming on and a sound from the tire. "So you have a light making a sound?" ............ I have yet to find a dealership with a half decent shop. He said the car has a 5yr/60,000 mile warranty. Well I found a paper that says 10yr/100,000 mile. Now I see that will be a arguement.
Well I guess I will clean up a bit, and head into the basement.
OK can someone explain this. I believe it was left behind.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
By the way... Finding the CS is like riding a bike... you can move it and hide it, but it will always be found by it's faithful followers.
Now, my question is... " Who did the decorating?????????? "
(yaaaaawn) Mornin' everbody. Happy first day of Spring. I'll have 2scrambled eggs, sausage, fried potatoes. Put it all in a pile and cover it with white gravy please. And a mug of coffee Thank You.
Garry-Yes, Jim is a very nice guy.
Not much going on today just gotta do a bit of spring PMCS on the generator. Got the tractor, (lawn, 1ea)and the push mower done. DUCK!!!! Oh (chuckle) sorry. It was just Barry dropping his knife. I'm a bit skittish since that catapult showed up. Anyway, I gotta take extra care of the tractor. It's a family heirloom! After 32 years of faithful service it's still running strong. I think I'm gonna have to pull the carb off later though and do a bit of cleansing. Never been off before. I hope she doesn't get scared. Should have done it then but it runs good. Just has a bit, a wee bit, of trouble getting started. But then again...so do I. It's taking longer to get the things done. Every time I'd get started someone comes over and says, "Say, ya busy?" My wife says "it's nice people pull you away from getting your stuff done, to help them get their stuff done" Oh well, we'll see how today goes.
Have a Great Day!
Only 1 "that"
Hey Gang! Good Morning to all!!!!
Sorry I have been out of the shop for the last few months. Between work, my personal life, and doing things around my house, the tie just flys right by. I'm sure most can relate to that. I'll make sure that I stop in more frequently now.
My thoughts and prayers to those in need.
Anyways, I've been making very slow progress in completing the WS Learning Kit I got a few years back. All I ahve left to do is Glue the ballast down and place a few trees on it and it will be done. I'm thinking that by the end of the weekend, I should be done. I'll get it outside after that for photo shoots, that will showcase some of the new equipment that I have gotten - vehicles, engines and rolling stock.
Well ladies and gents, I'm off to get some errands done.
Take care, Have a great day, and I'll talk to everyone later on.

Good Morning--We're at -9C of all things and we'll be going up to 5C today in the sunshine. In fact, we'll be sunny all through the weekend with temperatures going up to 13C by Sunday.
We've got some clients to see today so I'm told--only 2 but it's better than el zippo all week!
Bill-Now, I got some real measurements to go on for my crossings ---Thanks for posting those!!
Um, Chloe, I'll have the full breakfast platter with a barrel of coffee please---oh and a spatula--yes--the pie is on the wall again-----
The USRA Light 2-10-2’s arrived yesterday! I almost had heart failure when I saw the tenders were oil burners. After looking at the instructions I found those oil covers can be removed and poof they are coal burners. Total cost for both locomotives and shipping was $171.20. These are the Bachman Spectrum with DCC and include a fireman and engineer in the cab.Rob, you’re going to have problems with your brass crossing if you have steel track. I’m running 90 brass turnouts with nickel silver flex track with no problems to report. They do sell conversion sections of EZ track so you don’t have to cut.Chris, I’m fond of the “rule of thumb”. If I hold my arm out with my thumb extended and I can block my view of the incident I’m typically in a good spot. I never cleaned the discharge or release I supervised the clean up and then followed up with the “how clean is clean” evaluation.Lee

Good Evening...well, for a few more minutes anyway...
FINALLY finished the energy efficiency inititives article. THAT editor should be happy...guess I'll find out in a few hours when we do the weekly "face time," or what normal people would call a "meeting."
And yes Gents and Ladies, the Diner IS a different place, with a distinct and palpable brotherhood. I'm not particularly religious, which is why I don't offer prayers...but I know there are some guys here that need 'em...and I know they're getting them. THAT is what sets this group apart from the others: egos are left at the door, genuine care and concern for thy fellow man (and woman, don't wanna exclude Sue!) is shown and real, ideas are exchanged freely, and dang it...a lot of fun goes on in here too.
I hope Bergie DOES look in the window every so often...to see just what this Diner is all about. I'm sure there are plenty of jerks (wanna use stronger words...but this'll work) elsewhere among the Kalmbach railyards who complain about this forum and those of us who frequent it. I just hope Bergie continues to keep 'em at bay.
Allright, that's enough for one night, I thought I caught a glimpse of a pie launcher turning my way, must be my cue to relenquish the floor... guess I'll settle my tab for the gallons of coffee the ladies poured into me tonight, and head for sleep........
A good and SAFE Friday to everybody, best wishes to all.
Chris
EDIT: Hey, post number 131. I'm NOT keeping track of how many times I flap my jaws on here...but 131 is one of my favorite numbers. You see, in my county, they page the fire departments out by number rather than name. Bennett is 121, we're 131, Durant is 141, Lowden is 151, Mechanicsville is 161, Stanwood is 171, and Tipton is 181. West Branch rounds out the departments as 191. Don't know why they do it that way here, every county around us goes by name. Strange. So...when they page the Clarence Fire Dept., they set off our pager tones and call for: "131, 131, you are needed..." I've heard that a LOT lately...

Lee-
Todd-Are you sure that the 'coffee' being 'served' was not something else??
I'm having some interesting issues--I just discovered a mitt full of boxcars and flatcars that have mismatched wheelsets and now I'm trying to piece together what kinds of trucks I should get if'n I want to stick to something 70's/80's--ish in the truck dept. Any ideas?

Galaxy- Let’s see. Plenty of problems yourself and all we hear about is prayers and concerns for others. That says something about you. Bless you!

SaronaTerry- Let him check out your layout. He may come to the realization himself and you may not have to say anything. He may just start asking how you did it.
Rob- About the brass rails part. There shouldn’t be any big problems with the brass. I have on my old section brass with intermingled NS I used for replacement/repairs and I haven’t had any issues other than the brass seems to need cleaned more to deal with connectivity (word? If not it sounds good) issues. With the locos. I’ve only had one joiner connection problem, but if you choose not to solder your connections, (I didn’t), you might want to solder the joiner to the rail on that particular connection. Just a thought.
Oh and in response to someone commenting on the “community” here. Isn’t that what makes this hobby different from many? The friendships and acquaintances made? I think we are just enjoying the full benefits of this hobby.
Well bedy bye time. Prayers for all.

Sawyer, I meant to congratulate you on your test scores and you choices for classes yesterday. You will have a busy year taking some difficult classes, but you will be better off for challenging yourself!
Had a good rehearsal this evening for the Spring Musical. The Settings/Scene Changes we programed in last night will work quite well for the first act. Tomorrow we will check out the second act and hopefully that will be a go as well. The kid who is working sound with me for the show wasn't in school today, and I hope will be around tomorrow, as he has to memorize when to change the mic set up for each scene. He seems to know the play quite well so that should not be a big deal for him. Oh, BTW they are doing "Kiss Me Kate". Good cast and a great bunch of kids. I have 3 rehearsals before the first dress rehearsal next Wednesday (another schools Drama Club will be coming to watch so they will have an audience. Then 3 nights and a matinee for the show (technically the Thursday Night performance is a dress rehearsal as well but it is open to people in the community).
I printed out all the materials tonight for the Lakeshores Division NMRA Meet after I got home from rehearsal. I stopped in to the LHS here in town on my way to rehearsal. He is giving a 10% to anyone who attends the Meet and has donated 3 books for door prizes. Good man!
Prayers to all in need!

HO Bachmann question: I'm looking for (at least) one more "crossing track" for wife's layout. Which vintage brands work with Bachmann track? Tyco? Pemco? Revell? Others??? I will be cutting off the male ends on the EZ track so the vintage crossings will connect up OK. I know these are more "toy like", but they can be had cheap and still add some animation the wife appreciates. Also wonder if there will be any issues with them being brass rails?
Rob

JimRCGMOChris - Whaddya think?
I think Saturday is going to seriously, severely, and dang-near painfully SUCK... and that I hope I never have to use ANY of the training!
JimRCGMOOn your layout idea, what about making that yard in the upper-right corner all curved track (around the corner), and/or take out the backmost Quaker Oats (but leave the one closer to the aisle)? Just a random thought there...
Thanks Jim, I'll take all the "random thoughts" I can. I still say whoever drew the plan in the first place never built it, OR they have freakishly long arms.
JimRCGMO Galaxy, we don't mind you being on the receiving end of the prayers, so hopefully you don't mind, either. However, if you're not careful, we're gonna have Big Bertha (the home health nurse) stop by to ration out your pain meds - you're having way too much fun with those!

He sounds a bit like my wife when she was battling the cold/flu/whatever virus that was ravaging us last month. She got well and truly loopy on OTC meds. Case in point, she said she dreamed she was "inside a painting." She started taking half-doses after that...
Well, back to work...
Evening, Chloe - I'll have a cup of coffee in a D&RGW mug, with one of those scrumptuous-looking chocolate chip cookies, please. Did you use all Hershey Kisses for the 'chips' in those cookies? Those are HUGE! Do you have some sugar-free ones for our diabetic (or just dieting...) Diners? Oh, good. Oh yeah - and thanks, Galaxy! This should be tasty - yum!
CN Charlie, sounds like you've been having fun running all your different locos.
Bill T., I enjoyed the photo of the chef and crew in the diner kitchen.
Eric, I got my PM to you on your post mis-directed (meant to tell you that I thought it was dead-on about this Diner and its inhabitants), but thank you (and Mike, and Rob, and Jerry, and...). As I meant to write, the real questions will be "Can she ballast track?" and "Can she do scenery?" (And Jerry - don't remind me of how far it is from Mizzery to California... I'm still trying to see how many it's gonna take just to get out there late this year or maybe next year... (As for my MRR'ing progress, it hasn't been that speedy since way before I met her, so I can't blame that on Mary, right?)
Yeah, Jeff, I think I'm getting the picture on how low down your totem pole a Hazmat training is... But I think Lee is still trying to clean up the toxic spill from his training, and Barry may not be far behind you guys, either... Chris - Whaddya think?
Jeff, that photo of your 'downtown' RR crossing area looks sharp! And you take care of yourself, unless you like being hollered at by your doctor (and us)...
SaronaTerry, you could just let your layout do the talking for you. You do have padded carpet on the train room floor, right? (It'll cushion his jaw from the drop...)
Chris - yeah, I got the "underachiever" label myself when I was in high school. But then again, it's not peachy to be following an older brother who was National Honor Society... I was able to learn how to do well on standardized tests, though. (I think that's like "good at guessing which answer is most likely the right one"...) On your layout idea, what about making that yard in the upper-right corner all curved track (around the corner), and/or take out the backmost Quaker Oats (but leave the one closer to the aisle)? Just a random thought there...
I'll be settling down with my (grunt, heavy lifting here) mega-sized chocolate chip cookie now.
Prayers continue for those needing healing, comfort, a good night's rest... (or a shorter route to the Left Coast)
Blessings and Prayers,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Good Evening Gents (and Ladies),
I'll take the usual Thursday night bucket of coffee, black, ER strong...with Phillip's IV coffee drip on standby.
I have already filed my article (with info from the USAF) on the Bronze Star recipient, and on a new dollar store. I've got another article held up waiting for high-up muckety mucks at an investment firm to approve before I can file it, and had another potential story killed. Soooooooooooo, tonight I have to try and make sense of a plethora of new energy efficiency incentives, for an article to go in our monthly freebie paper.
I've been looking through what qualifies, what doesn't, how to get the tax credit for 2009 and/or 2010, and how the nearly 8 BILLION dollar spending bill fits into all of this. I got a stack of papers, and a whole lot of stuff stacked up precariously in my head. This has been a big part of my week (well, along with rolling on grass fires and a standby call for possibly landing the helicopter ambulance for a wreck). It's crunch time...and I've GOT to figure out how to break this down for the readers.
Funny thing about being a "reporter," you become a "subject expert" one topic and one week (in my case) at a time. Other than some quotes from a gal selling replacement windows...there's nothing in this article the readers couldn't see for themselves in any of a dozen (at least) places. But, orders is orders...and THAT editor has ordered up a piece on the incentive programs...and THAT she shall receive!
Completely unrelated, but I found a great photography job...but since I'm not an active member of the Iowa National Guard (life-long civilian, actually), I can't even think of applying for it. Nat. Guard only...so WHY did they post it on all the civilian job boards??? It starts at 46k/year. I do believe I could live on THAT... but, alas.
JEFF: keep an eye on that leg, we'd all hate to have you become a "guest" of the hospital again.
SAWYER: been forgetting to add my congrats on your scores, and how impressed I am with your school schedule. I always HATED school...felt like I was in some kind of prison. "Does not work up to ability" was a common comment on my report cards. It wasn't until I hit college, and started paying for my education...that I got serious. Even then, the subjects I liked or at least had interest in...I did great. If I didn't like it/didn't understand it/or really didn't need it other than for credits... well, C's get degrees. Either way, it sounds like you're laying a solid foundation for future success! I wish you the very best of luck Pal.
Everybody else: best wishes where needed.
I see the ladies brewed me up a fresh bucket... so will heft it on down the aisle to the back, where I'll be hammering this article out.
In case anybody gets bored in here this evening, here's the trackplan I mentioned earlier in the week...the one I thought would "solve" all my "problems;" but ended up with 4 to 6 feet of reach in the corner.
And the CNW track plan for the prototype:

Anyone here going to The Great Train Expo in Costa Mesa this weekend? I owe my love of trains (in part) to the introduction my oldest brother gave me when I was a tot. He had Lionel O & HO trains. He will be heading to that show and asked if I knew anyone who would be there.
Well, long day on little sleep, but did get some stuff done in the dungeon. Put up another shelf, carted 3 large boxes worth of trash out to the Great Pit, and almost finished clearing out the furnace room.
Nothing train related to report on...except finding my N/HO scale ruler. Needed that to start marking out roads on the wife's layout.
Healing thoughts to those in need.

Somebody in all those HAZMAT posts mentioned watching paint dry. I have actually sat and watched paint dry waiting to put on a second coat.
