Afternoon gang!

All of this talk about firefighting brings back memories of the Basic Firefighter course I went through a few years back when I was a volunteer. Unfortunately, between work, my house, and the g/f and her kids, I'm a pretty busy guy so I no longer volunteer.

And Sue, yes ma'am... I will make sure to post pics for all to see. I'm hoping by the end of the weekend, tomorrow is mostly packed spent w/ my parent at the annual Spring Home and Garden show. So, we shall see....

And JimCG... Hi! Dinner is it pie yet????

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

The only site I am having trouble with online today/tonight is this one. ALL my other frequent sites seem to do just fine. TRAINS.COM on the other hand is giving me some grief.

This isn't a Kalmbach problem.  Something here (locally) is amiss.  Google was showing "OOPS", for real.  I've never seen that before.

Oh bother.... no MRR tonight, it's been a long week.  My one sister is going through a meltdown with the family estate thing.  The other sister, who everyone was worried about, is doing fine, all things considered.  I sit here with a cat (ceasar) laying across my arm whilst I type.

Think it's time for some PIE!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks. That's a Canadian grain hopper marked for the ATSF. The weathering was done with a spray of alcohol and pure black acrylic artists paint.

Evening Gang: I'm feeling a bit better today. Not so much coughing and hacking. We took the tax stuff to the CPA this afternoon. After getting done ther we headed home and I got some work done on the 1.5 inch scale gondolas. I assembled a pair of couplers for one of the cars. Yes I said assembled. I get them as kits and have to do some filing and drill some holes and then file and fit the knuckle to the body. It's a lot cheaper doing the assembly myself. A pair of couplers run $65 to $80 for RTR and around $30 for the kit. This scale is really for the scratch builder if you want to save money.

Not mush else going on. It's an early get up tomorrow so I'd better say.

Good Night All

Good evening to all. Rough day today, we buried Big John, as we called him, my BIL. My sister is taking things as well as can be expected. I want to thank all you guys for your prayers and kind words, they are appreciated more than I can ever express in words here. I have seen enough sadness caused by smoking to last me the rest of my life. All I can say to you guys still smoking, if you care at all about those who you will leave behind, give them up NOW.

Turning in early tonight, we have to grandkids here tonight, and it has been an emotional day, Thank you all once again, and God Bless you all,

Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Evening gang!

Just a quick stop in.

Dick - Sorry to hear about your loss. I experienced one myself last Thursday when my g/f called to tell me that her aunt had passed away out in Phoenix AZ - the day before I was suppose to go to Iowa to see the g/f and her kids for this whole week. Needless to say, I spent my weeks vacation here trying to provide as much morale support to her and the kids as possible via phone.

All - thanks for the welcome back's!

Sue - Update - I got all of the ballast glued down andthe final trees in place. I'll try to get it outside in the sunlight for photo ops w/ some of my new equipment on it!

Well gang, take care. It's time for bed. Night!

Ok, Ok, Ok....I will start off the morning.

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!

OOPS SOMETHING WENT WRONG! Wrong country, peeps, sorry. It's still the *good drugs* prescriptions I am taking for my back, I think.

A cup of Hawaiian Choco Macadamia Nut Coffee in a tall tall mug please! None of these short little things that only hold a quarter of a measuring cup.

Well the muscle relaxer is nice, but I may have to call the Dr. to see about getting a different pain killer for my back, as the one he gave me is not working.

Daffy-dills and Croak-us are coming up so definitely a sign of spring springing up spring like here!!! Yesterday was the first day of spring hooray!

Ok I go back to bed for a bit, the muscle relaxer also lets me slep alot.Zzz

Maybe we go shopping later, maybe not it is Sat. Walmart will be full of peeps.

Good Morning people!!!---AAAHH!! Good!! Got a few people by surprise I seeShockMischiefLaugh

We're going to a high of only 4C today because we gotta be DULL DULL DULL---oh well. BIL/nephew showing up today and front yard needs cleaning up/straightening out--such as one does with cottage/meadow gardening---. Going to be a little busy of late----Whistling

JP-hopefully when you finished unpacking you did not find yourself going where'd this go? What happened to that? How come I can't find------that type of thing. We did the moving thing close to 16 years ago and that was our song and dance routine--where'd it go?---

Chloe--Egg on a muffin and a tub of caffeine please--gonna be a busy day and I'm going to need an extra strong version of that caffeine -----Whistling

Morning.....(yawn)... Spring??? it's 23F and everything is covered in frost!

Good day to work on stuff inside.  I started to clean out part of the old computer room (spare bedroom).  The one folding table is now the modeling table, as soon as I set things up.  Ordered one of those "Right Clamps" from MIcromark to help glueing the plant walls together. They are getting a bit long and tall.  I'm also working on the office buiding.  I know I'm doing things backwards but my trackplan follows the original with some size compression and eliminating some yard tracks.  I used a scaled down paper mockup of the modules to rough things out.

In the middle of all of this MRR and family estate stuff I'm trying to get back into the college routine.  I had to drop a class this semester because of the family.  I have 12 credits left to graduate with a BA in History.  I'm not going to stop now after 8 years of going part-time because of a setback.  I might be able to do an independant study this summer to get 3 more credits out of the way.  Now, if I could figure out a way to stop working without starving I could concentrate on school and MRR!!!

Time to get things together...first stop, food shopping, then the post office to send off Jeffs package.

By the way Jeff, I never would have quessed by looking at your work.  I hope my layout work comes out looking as good as yours does.
