But I could let someone else cook for me tonight....

It's only secret because the guys selling the prddy button up the back jackets don't really want us moving about... "brotherhood," kinda.

Talk to Chef. He's probab;y willing enough to hand you a pot for yuorself, just don't burn his kitchen. We lose more patrons that way.

EDIT: Cincinatti kicked a field goal, make it 20-10.

post on another forum about Brett favre being a diva sparked this rant. I'm so freakin' tired of people calling THE best QB in NFL history (period, no exceptions) is a diva. He wanted to play, and the Packers were too prideful to relize that Favre is still better than Rodgers. I wish Favre had taken that open competion. Don't get me wrong, I like Rodgers, he'll do ok, but Favre is still my favorite player. Enjoy!

(WARNING: A VERY BIG AND LONG RANT THAT I'VE NEEDED TO HAVE FOR A WHILE. I DON'T MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE!!!!)
Uh, compared to Chad Johnson, Pacman Jones, TO (in the past), Micheal Vick, etc., Brett ain't a diva. I absolutly HATE it when people call him that. Would a diva play w/ a seperated shoulder? Would a diva go to the sideline coughing up blood, and after the next play, come in a nd throw a td? and my personal favorite, would a diva play a football game 26 hours after his father died? Would a diva start 253 (w/o counting playoffs[and still counting) consecutive games? I'm still a Packers fan, but I've still got 4 other teams I root for: Saints, Chargers, and the Jets. And yes, I'll be getting a Brett the Jet jersey (after football tryouts next Monday) if I work out w/ my dad this whole week. Favre is a legend. this is his 18th year in the league. He gave so much to the Packers, they shoulda let him go where he pleased. He's given so much to the Packers (I sited some examples) that he should be allowed to play, and the Packers made him look like a Diva because, not realizing that they are a zillion times better w/ favre, they said "Stay retired" THe wimps even offered him 20 million to stay retired. THey know he'll beat them, period, and they're scared of him, so they sent him to the AFC. The one thing the Packers have going for them is that in late March, they were ready to take him back, but he changed his mind. he's not a diva, but yeah, he laft them hanging a few times. Still, they shoulda taken him back, or let him play in the division, like he wanted.

And lord, I just opened the super sized barrel of worms.

Quote other user: He's coming into a new system, with new receivers he's not played with, in a new town (NY no less) and all of this at age 38.
My response:

Okay, 1 name for you:
BUBBA FRANKS
history w/ favre- Packers TE from 2000-2007. Favre now has a guy to translate the Jets system, and an old teammate to work w/. Also, there is a run game. The jets QBs weren't the best last year, so teams could shut down Thomas Jones (who, if I remember correctly, was good in Chicago). W/ Favre and Lavernius Coles and the other WR, Favre can stretch the field. And bubba can still play. So now, Jones has some room to run. And remember Favre's last season. He can still play, and this ain't about the money or fame, or anything. Those Packers are thick-headed donkeys, but I'll still pull for them. But I'll tell you 1 thing, they made the biggest mistake in franchise history when they let go of favre.

I'll keep ya'll updated.

I think Packers1 blew a gasket or something.

Anyway just hanging out tonight, going to work at 6:30 tomorrow I should get some rest soon. hehe. I am waiting for my next paycheck so I can begin the benchwork on my layout. Everything else is ready to go. But in the meantime I am having fun using the new weathering powders I bought.

Good morning.

It's currently 81 and cloudy with occasional drizzle. The high will be in the mid 80's and there's a good chance of a thunderstorm or two coming through.

Yesterday was irritating, to put it mildly. Constant power failures in the morning followed by constant cable problems in the afternoon. Hopefully today won't be a repeat.

Humidity:  85%

So Far Today

Rain Rate:  0.00"/h
Gust:  7mph SSW

Now through 07:00 AM CDT August 12, 2008

Through 7 AM...isolated showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible across southern Louisiana. Rainfall from these showers will be mostly light...but heavier showers can be expected from southern portions of Lafayette to New Iberia. This isolated activity is occurring ahead of an area of light to moderate rain located across northern Tyler...Jasper and Newton counties into Vernon Parish. Good morning all,

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. South wind between 6 and 8 mph. Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. South wind around 9 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Wednesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northeast wind at 6 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

The GG-1 show (last night) on RFD-TV was awesome showing the locomotive from concept to retirement. I was getting tired of the UP episodes; we from the flat water level route get bored after a while with "foreign" motive power. No offense to the west of the Mississippi / Missouri River rail roads.

So Packer's No1 Who's this "Flavour of the Week" guy your talking about... never heard of him.  Must be on the senior circuit.

Dick: Jays won last night watch yer self!

GREETINGs to the "NEw Guy". No, there's no secret brotherhood here, no sacrifices, just lots of coffee and mayhem. Now that Galaxy has made his self known I guess he's buyiny! Al you ave to do is tell us a little something about yourself.

JP: Good Hunting with the GF. Personally I hate house hunting and hope never to do it again! Basement eh... Well that will be a  good start for future endeavours.

Terry: Some people need a shot in the back of the head. If they can't give you time of day well to heck with them. Friendship is not based on "words per minute" but rather "Good memories per life time"

As for my CV 2-10-4 looking C&O well sorry I have news for ya she's all CN. They were real big on Elescos, Vestibul cabs, over sized Ash pans and the "V" number boards under the Feed waters. I'm looking forward to painting her as wel the Southern "Cresent Limited".

LEE: I agree full heartedly regarding the Flat Land concept. That's why I like it here. Nice rolling and ever changing.

Well it's raining so I'm off to the basement

Mornin, just a to a go cup Zoe. I had to post this one

Be sure to canel your credit cards [Only in Ireland] !!!!
Be sure and cancel your credit cards before you die! This is so
priceless And so easy to see happening - customer service, being what it
is today!
A lady died this past January, and MBNA bank billed her for February and
March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and Then
added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance that had been
£0.00, now is somewhere around £60.00.
A family member placed a call to the MBNA Bank:
Family Member:
'I am calling to tell you that she died in January.'
MBNA:
'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still
apply.'
Family Member:
'Maybe, you should turn it over to collections.'
MBNA:
'Since it is two months past due, it already has been.'
Family Member:
So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?'
MBNA:
'Either report her account to the frauds division or report her to The
credit bureau, maybe both!'
Family Member:
'Do you think God will be mad at her?'
MBNA:
'Excuse me?'
Family Member:
'Did you just get what I was telling you . . . The part about her Being
dead?'
MBNA:
'Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor.'
Supervisor gets on the phone:
Family Member:
'I'm calling to tell you, she died in January.'
MBNA:
'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still
apply.'
Family Member:
'You mean you want to collect from her estate?'
MBNA:
(Stammer) 'Are you her lawyer?'
Family Member:
'No, I'm her great nephew.'
(Lawyer info given)
MBNA:
'Could you fax us a certificate of death?'
Family Member:
'Sure.'
( fax number is given )
After they get the fax:
MBNA:
'Our system just isn't set up for death. I don't know what more I Can do
to help.'
Family Member:
'Well, if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing
Her. I don't think she will care.'
MBNA:
'Well, the late fees and charges do still apply.'
Family Member:
'Would you like her new billing address?'
MBNA:
'That might help.'
Family Member:
' Glasnevin Cemetry, Finglas Road , Dublin 11, Ireland , Plot Number
1049.'
MBNA:
'Sir, that's a cemetery!'
Family Member:
'Well, what the **** do you do with dead people on your planet?'

Greetings from Salinas,

Fog again this morning same as every other day we've been here. We have a day to wander so the plan is to head up to Santa Cruz and Roaring Camp to ride the logging road there.

Lee - We will have pics eventually, but I haven't tried loading to my Photobucket account for a while and I'm not sure how it'll work with the laptop and wireless. We should have some once we return to the shop.

Inch - the way things are going, that might have had some basis in fact. Is it possible that the folks from Monty Python have taken over the world?

It would be nice if some of the rain would even out and end up where it's needed more but I guess that's just not the way it works.    Catch y'all later,  J.R.

***Lee, that GG-1 show was pretty cool. (I'll never tire of the UP shows though)

One more time: Picked up a couple old LIMA circus cars for the wife's train. How do I change out the couplers, or will I need to replace the entire trucks, so that these vintage cars will hook up to her Bachmann 2-8-0 loco? Thanks for any help with this.

Have a great day, all.

Sure thing Ryan. So here's a Saints preview:

W/ Drew brees gaining a new weapon in newly acquired tight end Jeremy Shockey (who was acquired from the New York Football Giants in what I consider a steal at only a 2nd and 5th round pick), look for the Saints to have a better year than last. Deuce McCallister is back, and w/ him and Reggie Bush, the run game should be excellent. Brees still has Marquis coloston, and Shockey will add another excellent element to an already packed offense. I think their defense will hold, and w/ their biggest opposition in the NFC South being the Bucs, I predict they will at least make the playoffs. THe Falcons will be the falcons, but w/ matt ryan, they should win a few more games and make some noise. The Carolina Panthers will probably threaten for at least a wild card spot. Tampa bay has Glenn Dorsey, Clemson's big d-linemen. It will be a battle to be sure, but I hope the saints will pull through.

Very nice report Packers#1

I liked the way the SAINTS played last Thursday night, of course pre-season is hard to judge, but the first string did make it 80 yards and a touchdown on the first possession. I just hope they all stay healthy! Fingers crossed!

Hey guys! I made a new logo for my PD railroad....let me know what you think Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

There's plenty of boats around here. One of the neighbors has four of them in his yard.
