Speaking of wives, mine figured out that some of these side effects are from a sleeping medication she quit taking a couple days ago. At least she is aware of it. Funny thing is she figured out one of the noises she was hearing and it was a vibration of a lamp shade when the heatpump was running. I never would have heard it, so she really does have some heightened senses. Though feeling like you are looking out of a fish bowl doesn't sound like fun to me.(Thanks Lee and everyone who have sent well wishes)

Philip, The Pinewood Derby or Cub Cars sure do bring back some fond memories. We had a lot of fun doing them and then my younger two boys went on into Soap Box Racing. My wife and I established a club here in Regina, being assisted by a club that was already in existance in Swift Current. The the two clubs together then assisted others in Saskatoon and Kindersley to get started as well. Agood time was had by all. The only problem is that it all goes by so fast. My boys were young teenagers back then and now they are 29 and 32. A couple of the senior cars still hang from the rafters in my garage. They will be transfered to the boys places in the summer this year.

We had a little light snow this morning but it is warm enough that it is melting off and would do so quicked if the sun would come out. But all in all, a very nice day for Feb.
By the way did the rest of you see that ebay auction of that life long collection of HO guage equipment??. They said the value was $21,500.00 and it went for $13,000. Lots of everything including Brass.

Mostly sunny skies will be around during the first part of the day today with more clouds moving back in tonight. Temperatures will stay below average again today topping out in the mid to lower 30's with light south winds. Areas of snow and rain will be around tonight with snow accumulations near one inch north of I-70 and far less amounts south of I-70. Temperatures will start out near the freezing mark for Friday morning and will warm up into the lower 40's during the afternoon hours. Partly cloudy skies are expected by Friday afternoon. Saturday and Sunday will be a little warmer topping out near 50° with partly cloudy skies.

ROB,,, careful taking your camera with you all the time. Rail fanning n chasen trains can become an addictive habit. Great pics too, cloudy days can make some of the best photos. Sure hope the wife gets the betters soon

Pc, congrads for your son in the winning derby. Flashwave's right about Terre Haute rail fanning for trains. At Haley Tower you don't have to worry about being hassled by anyone and it has some busy tracks through there. There's two or three other places that aren't to bad also.
FLASHWAVE,,, those Schneider trains come through a couple times a week both east and west on their way to Columbus, OH . Most the time they use KCS in either old paint or the new belle colors. Sometimes they'll have TFM or even the one's out of Mexico.

Monique and I started up an exercise routine and now I have lost 3 lbs. in the first week, yeah! We are doing some brisk 3.5-4 mph walking for 30-40 minutes every day and it works great too. I've also been doing some desk exercises at work like walking up the 4 flights of stairs instead of taking the elevator to the floor, and doing 50 push-ups in my cubicle every day.
Terry your layout and the photos are great, and the guided tour is really fun to watch and read, keeps em coming please! Is that the DPM Schultz's Garage kit in front of the wall? Great job with the Texaco Star decal too! I'm a little partial since my dad worked for Texaco for 35+ years.
PC you all did a great job with the Pinewood Derby car and congratulations on wining the race too!

Rob, I had that with INH, matter of fact I remember being very upset one day because I thought my dog had gotten into some paint in the back yard (spots all over the dog only I could see). There were some other odd side effects, but the doctors kept reassuring me it was ok. Tell her I wish her the best.

I couldn't agree more! Actually I was reallly disapointed the day I was here as it was raining, so no skiing, the museum was closed, The LHS at Intervale was closed, And North Conway is made up of Mostly, dare I say it, "Girlie Shops" and I don't look good in a pink halter tops!
Ed: I go back to work on the 12th of March and back to the Hudson with a new Captain.

In answer to your first question I personally use these terms for the £= quid, buck, squid,folding stuff. for the lesser coinage I usally call it shrapnel and the £3.7 = 3pounds 7 pence.
in answer to question I class myself as ENGLISH!!! Same as a SCOT would class himself as Scottish and a Welshman Welsh just watch the 6 nations rugby to see how united the united kingdom is.
as for great britain that was James the 1st Who was king of Scotland as well as the king of England ( after the death of Queen Elizabeth the first )

gear jammer- $3.40 a gal? I don't honestly know where they think people will get the money. I have a friend in Seattle who laughs everytime I moan about prices here, and a SIL in Honolulu who rolls on the floor when we mention gas prices. When her son stayed with us around C-mas, he told us gas was around 3.50 back on the island. But he also points out- over and over again- that it's 40 minutes to anywhere on Oahu.
JimRC- I've been to the Muncie show many times in the past, I have signed papers, talked to members and have done everything but offer up my place to hold the darn show, but I have yet to get the first notice when it's coming! On the other hand, the Ft Wayne crew not only sent a card with the original date, but sent another card letting me know the date had changed. Also, both times I've went to the Ft Wayne show, I've won a doorprize! Not much, this last time it was a pack of KaDee # 5's, but hey, as Blanche said in A Streetcar Named Desire, I have always relied on the kindness of strangers!
The last show in Muncie I attended, they suggested I join the NMRA, I told them I was a former member, but was put in the Dayton Oh Div instead of the Central Ind Div. They advised me how to request I be put into the CID, but it involved just a bit less paperwork than signing up for disability! I kinda lost interest after that.
cederstrand- I agree with Ed- overcast days give much better pics than sunny days do. Look at your shots, the trucks and fuel tanks are as clear and well lit as the carbodies. Diffused light is much easier to work with, and your shots proove it.
Forgot to mention, the PC BLI SD-9 came, it looks pretty good, just need to power her up to hear what she sounds like. Guess I also need to buy a controller to activate certain sounds. That will be another 30-40 bucks, so it might be awhile before she hoots and hollars like she's 'sposed to. Thats how they get you!
Not only looking forward to the show on Enterprise this Fri, but AxMen has my attention too. It premieres Mar 9, looks like it could be good. Always interesting to see what it takes for us to live day to day, and how much we take for granted. I'll never look at a plate of crablegs the same way again, after watching Deadliest Catch. Well, ok, I might, 'cause I never liked 'em to begin with, but I'll be looking at OTHER people's plates differently. At least until the police show up.
Ed, be careful in MexC, don't let the glitz of the big city dazzle you too much. When you get back home, we need to discuss adding some kind of anti-freeze to that OJ you're sending this way....why, maybe some of that Tequilla! I can see the Sunrise Express heading this way now!
And Paul, send some of that weather this way! Just to show you what a good fella I am, I'd even send some up last hogger's way!

PC: I remember making those. Our cars never went that well. Only time we won was when I went against a freind only and his rear axle fell off.
However, our rocket, (Not by me and dad, (Dad isn't a great craftsman) but by me and grandad and his lathe.) was perfect, and it did loads better. Perfectly streamlined with gold paint. That was awesome.

Well, they take a block of wood and carve it up and slap wheels on it, then they race it (unpowered) down a ramp and see who wins. It's actually quite challenging to do well.

Last I knew, it was a rectangular block of pine wood. And, mine were always down ramps... not allowed to power them other than gravity itself.
