Nice pictures Alex.
just email the address at the bottom in the copyright.
I did, yesterday, no reply yet.
BTW Thanks Alex for your compliemnt.
Awesome pics, GG.
Okay, so i emailed the guy who does these drawings, and said feel free to post them on forums as long as his original copyright is still intacted, and that you don't take credit for the drawings (but you can take credit form what you do to them). So here's the power that I expect to be running on my layout:
A U25B for the local wayfrieght:
And an rs3 for yard switching:
A GP9 for the local interchange run:
And a generic GP and SD unit, for the mainline frieghts:
GP40
SD45
Like i said, he gave me permission to post these. The copyright is on them.
Oooooooozzz... nice video!
I went trespassing today...
Walked 4.7 !@#$%^&*( miles on ballast...
Heres the map of where we walked....
Saw some interesting stuff... Osgood Bradley Coach, commuter trains, parts of the EMC GP38, old backshop... Old Buses, some with good graffiti...
Alex
Thanks. Trust me; the sound on those trains was something else. The First ore train I got with the IC leading, was out of this world. 3 645 EMD prime movers accelerating a loaded ore train at track speed was AMAZING. I have never heard anything close to that before hand, and so far haven't yet. Those 3 tunnel motors hauling the limestone train convinced me that I needed to go up there again. The power is so much better, but the sound, it's just so incredible! I can't fully describe how a tunnel motor sounds, it has its own unique sound. The rumble of it moves you too, like, wow, this is true power. The SD38s/38-2s also have there unique sound too, kind of like a chugging sound, unlike the rumble of the EMD SD40-2, or the sucking Deep Rumble of the SD45T-2s. Did I also mention that the Missabe has there own unique horns. You can tell when ones coming before you see it. It was an amazing trip. Not only did I get Full Missabe Consists, but I got to hear what I have only dreamt of. I never heard the SD45s, but this was close. The audio is just amazing there.
Well I finished my DMIR slide show. I Think it's a bit compressed, what does it look like to you guys? If it is compressed I'll reupload it in one size smaller.

Hows it been guys! Its been a while since i posted here but im going to try and make it a habit! Here is my latest work i finally weathered my Athearn BB F45 i think it looks pretty good! I hope it does to everyone else becuase this was the last engine i had to weather atleast older engines anyway, im leavin my modern power(SD60M-SD70MAC) alone. BTW sorry the pic is a little fuzzy my camera was about to die!

Actually, they have a line to Milwaukee. Remember, my version of history is the Chicago Northwestern went bankrupt, and at an auction, the Indiana Southern (I'm just going to call it "Hoosier Railway") bought a line into southern Illinios (to springfield, illinios), and a line up to Milawuakee. BTW, how do you spell Milwaukee? I keep screwing up.
It was really nice, wiki. They had a pretty sizeable modular operation going when I moved north. Lots of nice people. All guys older than me (I was probably 10 at the time...) but they were really friendly. Unfortunately, when I saw them last, at the Mad City show in Madison, they were slowly falling apart. One man had cancer, and some of the other guys had dropped out. They weren't taking the layout to shows much, except for the one in madison. They're only 45 minutes from the show room.

Umm yea, you know I should too....
Cool History Sawyer. If you'd like you can take my "WIN" name and the paint scheme too. It's just; you can't sell it, nor take credit for it.
Looks like my info is invalid, the SD40-3s got sent down two weeks ago, and 2, 4215, and 4216, got sent to Horicon. 4216 got unveiled as the WIN OLS.
Drawing soon to come.
Here are the WIN trains. They might change in the future.
CAM1, Chicago-Green Bay Manifest. This Manifest will run from IMWs yard on CP trackage rights, back on WIN trackage at CPs/SOOs Cut Off Town/Muskego Yard, and switch the towns along the way. This Manifest will also Interchange with the UP at Plymouth, and the CN at Green Bay.
CAM2, Chicago-Argonne Manifest. This Manifest will be the same as CAM1 when it entered GB, but with new crew, and new power. This will run from WINs Duck Creek yard-Argonne and Interchange with WC/CN at Argonne. They will also work the towns along the way.
GBNL(aka The Packer), Green Bay-New London. This Manifest will solely run from Green Bay to deliver cars to New London. No stops.
MNLN, Manawa-New London-Neenah. This train will work the line from Manawa-Neenah.
SKW, Shawano-Kelly-Wausau. This train runs from Shawano-Wausau working the towns along the way. They also work the industries at Kelly (really Close to Wausau) and interchange with WC/CN at Wausau's South Yard.
WIS, Wausau Industrial switching. Basically sums it up. Switches the Wausau's Industrial park.
MLWGBfc, (aka Beer Run) Milwaukee-Green Bay TOFC. Runs the TOFC from Milwaukee to Green bay.
Woops. Crap. I didn't know you had to get permission for that.
My brief history of the Indiana Southern Rwy:
Concivied in 1902, the indiana Southern Rwy. Connected Indianapolis, indiana, and Loiusville, Kentucky. It pushed its lines southward in Kentucky, and eastward into Ohio and Cincinatti. During WW1, the AAR assigned the Indiana Southern to take over an area in Ohio and Michigan, because the current RR running that stretch was not runing it satisfactorally, so the indiana southern nearly dbled its trackage. It kept that stretch after WW1. They bought the Tennese Northern RR during the Great Deppresion, connecting its Kentucky lines with Memphis and Nashville. It had pushed into Chicago during that time, then when the CNW RR went bankrupt (that's my story), they bought it's lines into Milwakuee and southward into Illinios, connecting with Springfield. They also got some of their AC4400CWs and some other 4- and 6-axle EMDs. In milwaukee, it's supposed to connect with the Wisconsin, illinios, and Southern. Of course, I can ditch that name. here's an indiana Southern Rwy. U25B, which they bought 150 of (bought small batches of EMD GP30-GP40 as the U25Bs started to get outdated). Of course, they also bought a good deal of SD35s, and then got some SD40-2s. They also had a good deal of GP9s and SD9s. So here's the U25B:

What was that club like? I'm right in that area and I've been dismayed over the apparent lack of model railroaders.
Almost for got, more WIN locomotives!
Well a sad day has come, the WIN retired there 3 SD45s. You could usually see those 3 (4500, 4504-4505) could usually be seen dragging the the CAM1 (Chicago-Argonne Manifest it's called one because the power and crew don't take it fully north. They stop at GB where the power and crew take the CAM2 from Argonne south the Chicago). To carry the bulk, WIN bought 5 tunnel motors. One SD40T-2, and 4 SD45T-2s! So the 20 cylinders haven't totally left the WIN. The SD45T-2s won't be numbered in the 45XX series. 4213-4216 will be the SD45T-2s. All tunnel motors will alos be clasaified as SD40-3s. This week all 4 got sent to the CN/WC shops in Fondy. So far the SD45T-2s haven't been repainted, but the SD40T-2 has.
painting soon to come
SD45T-2.
And a GP38.

Where does the Indiana Southern Connect to? The Wisconsin Illinois and Northern connects in Milwaukee and runs Trackage rights on the CP's/SOOs Muskego yard into Chicago to the IMW interchange. This is where they get cars to and from Chicago. (Not sure which) If that's not far enough south for you, you always have the Illinois Minnesota and Western (IMW). I have no plan for trackage there. The IMW was just the parent company for the WIN.
Alex, it wasn't intentional that I did WIN. I Wanted the RR to run into Wisconsin, and usually most small reginals connect in Chicago. I also wanted it to go north, because that is where I'm basing my WC layout. So it just worked out that way.
Tyler, no worries about this map taking over any trackage.
This is the Map with Explanation.
South Main Line, Milwaukee-Green Bay. Back in 95, WC wanted to abandoned the Plymouth sub (Milwaukee-Green Bay). The WIN would have up graded trackage and fixed the Lift Bridge in GB. They Run TOFC form Milwaukee-GB.
North Main Line, Green Bay-Argonne.
After going over the GB lift bridge, the line would proceed to Duck Creek. At Duck creek, the WIN would run up to North GB. The WIN had to build trackage from Duck Creek to North GB in 2000. From north GB we run up to Shawano. The WC abandoned this around 1995. At Shawano the track split off to go North on the old MILW to Argonne. The WC also abandoned this around 1995-96 once they bought the CNW to Powers. From Shawano we head north to Argonne where the main line Stops.
New London Sub, Duck Creek-New London.
If you look on the map, we have a line that goes to the south west and ends in some sort of "T intersection" at a town. This was originally the CNW's Duck Creek Sub. The WIN bought this before the WC abandoned it.
Manawa Sub, Neenah-Manawa. This line was the Former GBW, and south of NL was the CNW to Neenah.
Wausau Sub, Shawano-Wausau. This line a former CNW line. WIN bought this before the WC abandoned it.
So really, the WIN helped trackage in these areas.
Lucky...I have one club in my area (I am a member) but they model standard gauge HO....I do standard gauge also, but my preference is all things narrow....
I had an idea for something similar to the Garret using a 2-6-6-2 chassis and making a camleback loco out of it. Good for mining ops when you're pushing long strings of cars...
Oh, you mean the one from Backwoods miniatures? Yeah, I like that one too, but it's a tad big for any layout I'm going to build...
Just so you guys know, the name's Chris.
