Reggie, congratulations!!!!!!!!! I didn't even get to praying more than once for your situation.  I will keep you and your family in my prayers while you get started in your new job.

88, have you thought of using a transfere table?  May be the right fix for your space.  In the "Animations" book the author uses a transfere table he made with the engine holding tracks hidden under a level with a city scene.

Tomorrow, Wed. the 28th, on the History channel, Modern Marvels is on Freight Trains.  I believe it is 9:30 Eastern.  If the kids allow me, I will be watching.

Have a great day everyone.

Dennis,
Yes I have thought of the transfer table option.  Not sure if I like that one though...

I need to think on this a bit because I plan on scratch building the roundhouse, so I am not really constrained and I don't have any long engines... need to review the bowser site again...

Hi all,

Had a job in London today (near Hampton Court), left at 6am took us 4hrs to travel the 110 miles there! M25 nightmareGrumpy [|(] installed a secton of steam pipe and a control valve, job done in under a hour. Then drive home had late breakfast at the Ace Cafe on the North circular. If you ever get the chance to check out the Ace I reccomend it. Its a biker/classic car hang out par excellence where the "Ton-Up" boys used to hang out in the 50's and 60's.

Bought a 100th anniversary Lionel wall clock from ebay. It arrived today, will be perfect for the new Gamesroom (Once its built of courseWink [;)]). Charlie (my son) and the FIL love it but my Wife thinks I have lost the plot when she heard the chimes... Big Smile [:D]

John B, I always remember a neighbour of my American Granfather complaning about the damage moles were doing to his lawn. Grandad was trying hard to keep a straight face, when the chap finished his winge, Grandad replied "Just be thankful its not Gators!" (He lived in Florida for a time and they used to lay on his lawn!)Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Hope you all had a good day

Nick

Reggie,

Way to go with the Job driving truck. I also have a job although it is a temp. part time job.

It will look good on my Resume and may even lead to more work if they have the need for it. The Best part is I only work 3 days a week for 4 hours.Big Smile [:D]

Buckeye, did you ever get the OSU billboard and water tank? Have not been to M&S trains for awhile.

Chief do you have Elk in your area? In eastern Kentucky where mom is from they are being over run with deer and elk.Shock [:O]

CSX, Kentucky did a Elk transfere/reintroduction program several years ago.  It has been a success to a large degree.  Tennessee also was starting it when the whole CWD thing started and both states have stopped for the time being.  I don't believe the Carolinas have even started the program.  As to diabetes, as Lisa stated, see a specialist.  An endocrinologist is the one to see.  It is important to get it under control....lots of issues that can be avoided with good care.  You are on the young side, so you don't want to let it damage your systems this early.

Good Luck,

Dennis

I only purchased the OSU National Champions billboard with the 20?? upgrade.  I think Wes purchased the water tower.   Sometime you need to head to Roger's Corners and run the trains.  Wait until we have better weather so you can see the ones outside.

Have you ever been to the store near London, Ohio?

Reggie - congrats on the job!  Sounds like a class operation if they are paying for school and all!  God bless. I've got a Bud Light in the fridge if you pass through St. Louis.  Same goes for any of you guys.  My layout is pretty small and sparse, but we're learning as we go.  There is a cool Museum of Transportation near here you guys might like, plus lots of trains downtown behind where I work etc.

Went to the zoo today on a field trip with my daughter.  We barely had time to see any animals, though.  We did get to see the little train they run through the zoo - it's a 4-2-4 and made to look like sort of a 10 Wheeler or General.  Maybe when I retire in a million years, I can get a job there as a conductor?

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

I don't travel much lately, Never been to london ohio what is the name of that hobby shop? I am thinking about going to the Spring S spree in Hillard. The club that I sometimes belong to is hosting the all S scale and S gauge show. It is not cheap to register but everybody who makes S and sells s related product will be there and I think there will be at least 3 clubs with layouts there. My club COSG has a nice portable"modular" but fixed in size layout. The club from springfield(I think thats where they are from) has a truely modular layout and is very impressive.

Where is Rodgers cornner anyway? Is it anywhere near Portsmouth? A childhood friend and his family moved to Portsmouth many years ago.

Evening.  There is a picture of the Chief and Buckeye in front of the silo and Buckeye is being presented a bag of GRITS.

Elk, are suppose to have been reintroduced in the Great Smokie Mountains and wolves too.  The Golden Eagle was reintroduced years ago.  I am a fan of wolves.  Smart animals and they have a great society.  They are not the big bad wolves of Little Red Ridinghood.

Pruned grape vines and then fed the deer.  They bounce away after standing staring.  They will tame.  We had them where I use to work.  Fed them every evening.  They would come running like cows for the corn.  As long as you sat in the vehicle [running or not], they would walk right up to it.  Did pickup plywood for the rolling stock storage under the benchwork.  Will work on it some as I can.

Microwave popcorn time.  Later.

Had the new Domino's Pizza garlic bread pizza.  It was a little too rich for me, but the kids loved it.  Also, won two ore cars on ebay- the black cars that go with my copper range loco.  I know they have those plastic trucks, but for the price they should be pretty good.

Well It's getting late and I have to go to bed so I can get to work tomarrow, work Monday, Wensday and Friday they still have not figured out how much to pay me yet it is a payed postion but I am doing it mostly for the experince and to kill time till I find the right Job. My offical title is IT assistant.

Buckeye maybe some time this summer I could find my way out there if it is not too far.

I have a great Idea for a club layout should you know of any club in Columbus area starting up, the Scioto Valley Traction Company would be an interesting project It went as far south as Cillicothie circleville and had a station stop in Obetz and ran from Columbus east into Lancaster.

The Ohio historical society has blueprints/drawings of some of the equipment and buildings on file in thier archives forgot how much they would charge for copies.

Reggie, Congratulations!  This seems to be your year!  New Baby New Job!  Great news.  If you get up this way you're more than welcome to stop in...The trains are in boxes, had to remove after Christmas, but I did get clearance to build a fold-up unit in the office.  I think I can get about 4x8, this may take awhile.  (2-kids)

Marty, thanks for the information...I'll pass it on.

Glad to hear everyone is feeling better.

(Rant to follow)  The outlaw just left.  Glad that's over.  Three days of my wife cooking her brains out, amazing meals, snacks, desserts, 4-star stuff...not the usual dinners we eat at home...all without help...(did I mention there was NO HELP?)  I was the sous chef, and lead (only) dishwasher.  We determined we could run our own cruise line...we went way past the B&B...that ends with breakfast, and I bet no one has to tend your fire in the fireplace at one of those.  Too bad we were too busy to enjoy the fires.  Wouldn't you wonder why the people you were visiting weren't sitting down and spending time with you??(thanks for the opportunity to vent)
