Looking forward to a nice 3 day weekend. I have to put a crib together and then hang some curtain rods for my wife's sister tomorrow. Her husband thinks you glue curtain rods to the wall!
Tonight I'm going to spend the evening "camping" with the kids in the living room. They are looking forward to it! Should be fun.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Finally my prayers have been answered. No more grits! No more sweet tea! No more Yankee jokes! It is truly a great day! The Chief has been banned from CTT.
Just returned from a class on LRFD. Everyone needs a course in LRFD.
Hockey game tonight.....probably another lackluster performance by the 27th team in the NHL. (Total teams = 30.)
Mother-in-law left today after two week visit.
LAZ, how did your bear stop all that traffic? It sounds like someone in Pennsylvania just graduated with a degree in Incompetence. Heads should roll for that stunt on I-78.

Hello Buckeye, don't worry, if the Chief is somehow held back, we can take up right where he left off. Y'all need a good helping of Grits to ward off that cold weather up that way. Had some Cheese Grits and Sweet Tea last night. We won't have it tonight as we are celebrating Chinese New Year a few days early. While the Chinese don't have Grits, they do have some items that are close. Anyway, I think Don was banned over on the Other forum and I don't think he has any problems over here. I rarely go to the other side as too many flames are thrown about. I do go for specific questions that I know they have whole sections devoted to. But, once I get what I need, I come back here to the friendly forum.
Y'all have a good weekend.

By the way Lisa.......GRITS are banned in Beautiful Ohio.
Good evening all,
Jim, About your question on the MTH 10 wheeler, I think it would run on 027, but for a sure answer ask Tom (spankybird). He is the one who recomended that engine to me over the Lionel version. I think he runs his on 027, but I am not sure. I run mine on my inner loop which is 031 Realtrax.
John Baker, It would be nice if you could share the Pub pictures with the rest of us, maybe do some structure models if you show the exteriors as well as interiors. Could you post the pictures on a site such as shutterfly and give us a link?
Don Baker, Don't let it bother you, some people have no sence of humor. It was a pretty nice, but cold day today. PennDot is in deep dodo over the inept way they handled the snow storm. The Gov. is very unhappy, we are likely to get a new Secretary of Trans, or maybe someone further down the ladder will be made the scape goat. Didn't really bother me, being retired I just stay home. BTW the Gov. made it a free day on the PA turnpike to help get the truck traffic moving and then there was a tanker accident that blocked the eastbound lane east of Lebanon, PA so they had to detour traffic on local roads around that. There are no decent local roads around that area even in good weather. Most be a real mess. The turnpike was clean and dry in the sections they showed on TV.We are baby sitting the three granddaughters this evening, 6, 4 & 3 months. Ran trains for the two oldest awhile. 3 steamers and a lashup of two GP9s, all 5 with smoke. Cough, cough. Completed the catenary on the shelf layout. Now have about 24 feet more to go. Next week is going to be pretty busy, unless I get another snow day, so it wont get any work until at least next Saturday.Have a nice weekend,

Don,
It seems I have also lost my ability to post there. I don't have the slightest idea why. Oh well, I like it much better here!
I found a bit of news about the Chief's demise...
It seems the Chief recently appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates."Have you ever done anything of particular merit?" St. Peter asked.
The Chief replied "I finally got my train layout off the floor..."
St. Peter interupts "no, no, no, please hold the grits and tell me something significant...""Well, I can think of one other thing," the Chief offered.
"Go on..." said St. Peter.
"Once at the Bass Pro Shops parking lot, I came upon a gang of bikers, who werethreatening a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So, I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed biker and smackedhim in his face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground. I yelled, "Now, back off! Or I'll sic Laz's 800 lb bear onto you guys!"
St. Peter was impressed, "When did this happen?"
"Just a couple minutes ago."
Regards, Roy

As they would say in NOLEANS.... WHO DAT?
HI GIZ, and that X CTT poster DA CHIEF,
Ran trains to nite for 2hrs. NO PILE UPS great nite. This afternoon had chance to work on town and came out great put down emory cloth for road and grass in square. Pics for Sunday foto fun.
All have agood one.
Well, got back from the Chinese New Year party......nice gathering, but nice to be home. I am tired, been a long week. Getting cold here, down to the 20's tonight. Had a humbling experience last night. One of the surgeon's wife who is a nurse asked me to help in teaching a guy take a Nurse Assistant class. Thing about this is that the guy is homeless. Very respectful, nice guy, just had some hard luck. Anyway, when we were done, we dropped him off where he was staying. He lives without electricity or heat, has a small kerosine heater and a flashlight that he studies by. Then turns both off and goes to sleep. This with temps in the 20's. I have a problem with able bodied people who don't work, but when someone like this is trying to better himself by going to school, well, it just makes you think about how much we are blessed. Anyway, I had a tough time sleeping last night as I think about this guy in the cold while I am in my warm bed.
We are hoping to stay home this weekend even though I am on call. Plan is to get some wiring done, maybe all of it. I have more than enough of everything and after the experience yesterday, it makes me want to spend more of my money on the really important things. I know we need to have our outlets and passions, but healthy temper towards the bigger things is good.
Hope everyone has a safe and good weekend. To those in the really cold areas, hope you get warm soon.
Dennis
Thanks for the info, John on that MTH locomotive. I've got those evil O27 Lionel switches that stand up really tall and I suspect that might be a problem.... I'll email Tom. I wish he could post more, I love looking at his stuff and stealing his ideas! Wife's scrapbooking for the weekend, except tomorrow afternoon for a couple hours we are meeting up for Cecilia's birthday (friends' daughter who was a preemie - wow, 1 year old! That means I've been posting regularly on here for over a year, since I was asking you guys for your powerful prayers!)
Switches are running good, except one seems to buzz a lot and doesn't want to throw as well as the others. I'll have to check and see if there is something sticking or touching that shouldn't be there? I'm just learning this stuff as a I go along.
You guys might have guessed I love SCARY movies! Well, I rented The Grudge 2 and it is CREEPING me out! Need another beer to help settle my nerves.... TTFN
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Received notice this week that an order placed from the previous Lionel catalogue late last year is finally being shipped next week. Hopefully it has some goodies, other than track, etc., that'll help fill the shelves at the store. Things are getting a little sparse in some sections.
He'll be placing the orders out of the new catalogue before the end of the month. If the preorder form is honest some engines and rolling stock could be available by April.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold, cloudy 10 degrees. Going up to 25 today with a good chance of snow. Winter is still here.
Today is a stay at home day. Have a few chores to do and then , maybe , I can spend some quality time working on the layout. Need to run trains and do some dusting. I'll be glad when this new section is finished. It's been a lot of work. Should be fun to run.
Well, looks like nobody is up yet. Dining Car just rolled in and it is ready for breakfast. Talk more later.
Y'all have a great Saturday. It is Saturday.
Chuck
Morning GIZ,
