Morning All,
Working dayshift weekends this week. On break and thought I'd check in. Cold and snowy.
Trying to figure where to put the 752 coaler on the layout. I'm thinking beside the 785 coaler. my idea of running the two coalers off the same switch on the control panel and putting a selecter switch in the base line to determine which coaler operates works. Next day off I'll wire it in.
Chief, glad you're back, grits and all. Besides, I like grits, comes form my heritage of the hills of Kentucky!
Take care all, prayers for those in need going out!

So now we know that Chief is not a man of his word!.. What else would you expect from a southern boy!, no real honor!
Jim - I took some pics of one of my MTH 4-4-0's going thru the last Lionel switch on my layout (its in the yard). There is lots of room so I believe the Ten wheeler would be ok.
Jim, I hope this helps.
Well the strom of this past week keep us at work, but now next week we will be back in Grand Rapids for most of the week.

Good afternoon,
We are having a heat wave. Already 36, was only predicted to get to 33, we'll take it.
I've been working on a few projects at the bench today. Flat car load, office interior & billboard sign.
Plants in the green house are comming along. Geraniums are getting first geranium shaped leaves with some color in the center. The impatients are starting to come up. As soon as it is safe to take the geraniums off of the heat mats, I will be starting some other seeds. No sign yet of the early tomato seeds sprouting. I used some left over seed from last year, hope they come up. Old seed is not usually a problem with tomatoes but you never know.
Enjoy your trains,

So the Chief reappears - as they say - the South shall rise again! Must be the GRITS!
Beautiful day here! 60 and sunny! Time for a warm-up!
Doug - V-Day fiasco?? I hope you have recovered?
Our son's Jr. high had their V-Day dance last night. Man - he put on slacks and a TIE! Dances at our jr high are scheduled so they end by 8 pm (teachers want out asap!) and then we took the boys to meet some GIRLS at Chili's for dinner . Of course we had to sit across the restaurant out of sight
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy

Man, you are just WRONG for that! It seems that the Honorable South has remained the same, wonderful place to live, it is the rest of the country that has a trouble of honor.

Got a good deal for some of my friends on the Pot. Today, I got the flyer from the Train-Station for the President's Day Sale. Not going to get into all the items, but one of good value is a LionMaster CP SD-90 and Caboose with TMCC, Railsounds, Odyssey, smoke, crewtalk, dual motors, electrocouplers, etc for $299. The regular price is $489. It is too modern for my pike, but I know some here like CP and the new motive power.
I don't normally post such things here, but wanted to share what to me seems like a great deal. I don't have a stake in this, but I do know one of the owners of the store. Enough of the disclaimers, if you like the above, by all means, go to the web site.
Thanks,Dennis
Good afternoon all,
It has been SNOWing all day in SE Indiana with temps in the 20s. Got the housework done, went to Wallyworld and got some shirts on clearance. Renewed my driver's license so the streets of Indiana are not safe for six more years. I went to the YMCA as well. Last night I was pretty much a slug and we watched "Close to Home" and "Numb3rs". I would hate to see the Chief leave the forum because we would lose our source for GRITS. The dining car rolled in from "Points East" for breakfast for a change and we had bacon and bagels. We called the daughter in Virginia to wish her a happy birthday. She is 25 today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Chief! You know it is against forum rules to mention HOT CHICKS and not post pics!Fife, I took your advice, packed up the car, and talked the wife into going for a 'drive to see snow'... we ended up in Thurmont at a nice little train shop called Canoctin <sp> Mt Trains... when we came to the stoplight and she saw the sign she says, 'Hey there is a train store across the street. Do you want to stop in?' Ended up with two MTH cars, NYC Flatcar with 1949 Cadillac Coupe DeVille and a Sunoco Tank Car...
Good Saturday!
Ended up with 24.5 hours overtime this week! Got a dusting of snow today. Wednesday had 7 inches of snow......a far cry from the 20+ they were calling for over a few days!!! Going to the train show in Saline, MI tomorrow.

Evening all. Sore eyes. Sun came out and things began to blosum in Florida [right below their shoulders ] I tried not to look. Now to the room to relax. Was taking one of the managers out to dinner but we both agreed we were too full from lunch [us Southrners call it dinner and the night meal supper]. BPS fed us bar-be-qued pork, chicken and beef ribs with all the trimmings. Dare say I did not eat much. Only two pices of chicken, two big ribs and a half of a plate of pork. All with baked beans and potato salad. Had only two Krispy Kreme Donuts for desert [no nana pudding ]. Two big glasses of sweet ice tea to wash it all down. Fishermen will know this. Hank Parker's son Ben is now working for the competition. Ben and I have hit it off as friends. He tells everyone how good my chargers are [hope his boss doesn't find out] and sticks to selling trolling motors and depth finders. Neat yong man.
Fly out of here at 3 PM tomorow. Early for a change. All the later fligths were booked when I booked this one. They are usually full of kids and parents going home from Disney.
Microwave Popcorn time. [John S, you're still my buddy so I will save you some].
Goooood night.
Chief all that BBQ baked beans and banana puding sounds like the reasturant we have in Columbus Ohio Called City BBQ. Just to the west of columbus is Grovecity(some call it Grovetucky) and a place called Hoggies the have a dish called loaded nachos basicly nachos with your choice of BBQ Pork or chicken for the meat very good.
Have you ever been to that lake that crosses the Kentucky and Tennese border? It is supose to be a good place to fish for Bass. Don't do much fishing anymore but would like to go to Canada and do some fishing up north sometime.

Hadn't heard the Grovetucky moniker before but that is really funny!
Off to WalMart to cash a check so I have money for the train show in Saline, MI tomorrow.
HI GIZ,
Just got done running trains for about 2hrs, no PILE UPS. All ran good.
CHIEF, Don't want to be to close to you tomorrow with all that pork and beans?

Thanks Tom! Now, I just need to negotiate with my wife!!! I'm sure there is something she wants that would offset a little old train set in the very near future!
No train stuff today. We were running around all day. It snowed about 1-2 inches today, pretty steady. Cleared the driveway, through extra sandbags in the back of the truck, and struck out for Pevely and then Festus for the party - 1st birthday for our friends' daughter. She made quite a haul, but we had to get the American Legion Hall cleared pretty fast for another group coming in. Got a call later - did we see Leah's purse? Ah - nope! She went back to the hall and it was still there, sitting on their cooler full of melted icecream! The people having the event after them had just left it sit where it was! Very cool!
Watching Azumi - samurai movie with lots of flying ninjas, blood and pathos -- pretty good! One guy has some kind of short rifle or long pistol with 3 barrels that he can rotate by hand - a 3 shooter!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
He's been to Hoggies and I'm banned for life.

Dennis,
I e-mailed some photo's to you yesterday, no read-receipt so I guess they didn't land, really is confusing this old TOG.
Hope every one is having a good week end, taking beloved to GWC today, +10 in Stockport, no snow and a dry day forecast.
I am planning a trip to Maplins Tuesday to see what they can do about Lionels power supply.
TTFN.

John B, You will be very lucky to find the correct power supply and inverter at Maplins
Maplins are useful for the spade connectors etc. but the inverters they do are UK specification 230V 50Hz. The 230V to 12V DC power supply may be available but its likely to be under powered. You need 25amps ( this is quiet a lot) of DC power to run a 300 Watt inverter.
In that info I emailed you a while back I mentioned earthing the inverter with a earth bonding plug. Chris (of the Lionel collectors club uk) has a better solution that earths the inverter without the need for this. But don't worry about earthing the inverter at the moment as its only a problem with TMCC which you don't have yet. The CW-80 has a 2 prong plug and is not earthed hence no need for a earth.
This is the transformer you need to power the inverter. Note: the mains lead is a not included you have to order it as a extra.
http://www.amperordirect.co.uk/products/300W-12v_Power_Supply.asp
The inverter needs to be a Pure Sine Wave 12V DC to 110V AC 60Hz 300 watt model.
http://www.invertersrus.com/inv300ps.html
I got mine from the States (from the above link) but one chap at least in the UK got his from Victron Energy. They have UK distributors but the UK reps number is 01788 567123. Give them a try. If they can help make sure you ask for US style socket outlet(s) on the inverter. And if it comes with battery leads, as you need them to connect to the Amperor transformer/power supply.
If you bring the inverter and and Amperor power supply to the Ilkley show I'll show you how to sort the earthing for TMCC. So your set-up will be TMCC ready should you ever wish to use the system. This would also be a good demo for other folks at the show.
Heres a pic (a picture is worth 1000 words)
Regards
Nick

Are you refering to Lake Cumberland (South Central, Kentucky) or the big lake in Western, KY? Because if you're talking about Lake Cumberland, well, that's not going to be a hot fishing spot for many years to come because they are lowering the water levels big time due to fears that the Wolf Creek Dam might actually breech, they believe that its already leaking and if it fails, well there are several towns that are immediately down-stream; needless to say things are a bit anxious around there.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 20 degrees. Cloudy. Going up to 22 today. That's not a warm trend. Maybe a little snow. It snowed, lightly, all day yesterday. Got about an additional 2 inches on the ground. Warmer weather coming.
Today, I plan on taking it easy and running trains this afternoon. I want to take a couple pictures, of some details to work out. I may work a little on layout. Daytona 500 is on today. Should be a good race.
Well, the Dining Car is here and ready for breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Morning all,
Getting ready for Church. I had hoped to stop by and see the start of some Sunday Photo Fun, but not yet. Oh well, will have to check back later. Hope Chief is having fun in Sunny Florida. It is a cool 40 degrees right now, and hopefully it will be nice and warm so we can take the kids to feed the ducks at the lake.
God Bless,
22 and cold again, had some snow last nite, not much.
Hope all the NASCAR fans have a good day today for the big race. I see that TOYOTA has some cars in it, go figure? Hope no one gets hurt.
Have a good one.
