Morning all
Chief- Congratulations on the victory. While you are up north you are welcome to stay over at my place, the train room is also a bed room.
Doug- Give your bride an ATTA BOY for stepping forward to help. All too often, people do not want to get involved. Your wife showed compassion in helping.
Lisa- Hope the aches are better from the tumble off the tractor
Don- that place is huge.
Chuck- prayers for quick healing for your bride
Jim- pace yourself with the exercise program
Brutus- happy belated birthday
Been busy and computer server went on the fritz. I've got the cap block laid for the garage addition. Got to freezing temps but should be OK, was not a hard freeze. Hope to start framing in about a week.
All take care and may God bless
Jim

GOOD MORNING TO ALL
Kurt- sounds like things will be a little quieter now. good luck.
Lisa- take 2 asprin and call the chief in the morning.
Brutus- sounds like you had a really good birthday, friends and family can't go wrong. The plus side of the Chewy curse is i'm getting a great collection of hubcaps from chasing cars. getting them off while moving is tricky but i'm learning to break dance.
y'all have a nice day. Sir James

I worked out last night too. Some pushups and abdominal crunches. I'm trying to lose some of my spare tire. Tough to do at my advanced age. I did 2 of each. No pain, no gain!!!

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 50s. Lisa, glad to hear you were not seriously hurt. Chuck, hope your "waitress" recovers quickly from the surgery. Chief, have a safe trip. Brent, sorry to hear about the computer issues, but send my birthday wishes to Susan. I was really busy last night. I did weights and a 20 minute jog on the track (usually 15 minutes). Came home, ate supper, and then loaded train boards, track, and roadbed to take over to my dad's so I can work on it over there. I got all the track laid out and marked it for the roadbed, and then I got tired and came home. I had biscuits and bacon on the dining car this morning along with a little Cheerios as well. It will be a very busy day at work as well. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mornin' boys. Hey, mornin' Lisa, why don't you grab this stool next to me? Oh, can't sit ...? Chilly hear in the Mid-Atlantic region. Not everyone gets to jet off to Florida...
Brutus - I can think of one thing better to wrap up my brithday with...No, make that two...
dbaker48 - $6 for parking would end my YORK adventures.
88 - to your lovely bride. Just curious, can't you page back and save the images you posted on the CTT boards? At least you'd have something. Still a bummer. I'm old fashioned and still draw everything by hand (as you know) because of such horror stories.
Buckeye - I think a special BLUE RIBBON delegation should be dispatched to Roseyville to investigate.
CSXect - My diet consists of NO FRENCH-FRIES 'til NEW YEARS.
Hi GIZ,
27 and cold with lots o frost today. Got a shop teachers conference to go to today and tomorrow, we're going to compare our tools?
CHUCK hope all goes well for the MRS.
All B safe.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 30 degrees. Going up to 50 today with cloudy skies.
Today, is the wife's out patient surgery. Noon. She should be home this afternoon. Then, she will sleep the rest of the day. I'll be glad when it's all over. Left foot will have a small pin in the side, like the right foot. Right one has healed great. No time for trains today.
Jumijo...Thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers.
Thanks , also, to everyone who has wished the wife well.
Dining Car is self service for a few days. Breakfast of Cheerios.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Chuck
Good morning from New England. 29 degrees this AM with a high only of 45. Time to head to Florida and shack up with Lee and his 10,000 cats for the winter!
We didn't run trains yesterday. We didn't work on trains yesterday. Instead, my daughter watched a DVD of her kidergaten graduation and the boys and I watched some old Flieschman Superman cartoons. None of the kids is acclimating to the whole time change thing. They all zonk out around 7:30. I'll enjoy it as long as it lasts...
Prayers for Mrs. Blueberry. Hope all goes well and that she heals fast.
Chief, go easy with that maple syrup. Just a little behind each ear is all you need. Did you ever install that Dukes of Hazzard horn in your wife's new SUV?
Lisa, the only law one cannot break is the law of gravity. So stop trying to break the law!
Aren't all the colors pretty?
Ms. Lisa: Glad to hear you're OK! Sounds like you need a 4-wheeler too, or your son needs to bait closer to the house, and shoot from the porch! I sure hope he's cleaning it!
Don: That must be some view from the train roost! Does the Big boy even fit in that thing? Nice show pics!
Youngest slept from 2:00pm-7:00pm, and back down for the night (still sleeping) at 10:00am. I think the fever broke last night. Glad we're over that.
Kurt

Laz & Chief - Looking at the pictures of the Big Boys, looks like Laz got #4012, and Chief got #4014. Am I right? Hard to make out the detail. Did they say anything about Legacy, is there a post card or something? And the stack cover, I assume it must be removed if the smoke is turned on right???
Since I'm asking questions, would someone explain what is "Derail" ? Usually seen on those rectangular signs along the track. I think that it indicates that an opportunity to Derail is coming up. But why would someone want to "derail".
Also, I talked a little about Cal-Stewart meet this past weekend. Allegedly, the "biggest" train meet west of the Mississippi. When I attended it 25 years ago, it WAS big! And it would alternate between Pasadena and San Jose. One year here then next year up there. Now it is held in both venues every year. I've attended the past two years, in Pasadena, getting more disappointing every year. This year Lionel and MTH both had booths, 1st time for MTH. And, Neil Young was even there on Saturday. Cost to attend was $30 IF your a member of TTOS, or TCA, if not you have to join. Then parking $6! Sunday afternoon it is open to the public for $10. ($30 member included spouse, and children under 21). Anyway, maybe 3 or 4 train shops were there, but the rest was individuals selling their pieces. 2 "parts" guys. I don't even think I will go next year. After attending York in April, this show was a "non-starter".
First picture is the "White" Hall, MTH was in booth in the Left Corner against the backwall, and Lionel was in the Right Corner of the back wall.
Same room, turned right to pick up other corner.
There was another building that had about 20 tables, optimistically, ("Brown" hall), that building had 3 layouts, and a race track for the trains. (Drag Strip). They also have a Demolition Derby. (I didn't stay for that it would have been too painful).
End of my report.
Don
Thanks guys! I can't think of many better ways to end a birthday than sitting here and reading all these kind words from such a great bunch of friends!
I might not be a turkey, but I'm stuffed! Went to lunch at Houlihans with Jeff, buddy at work, and had a small steak and a cold beer (Bud LIght in honor of Nick in England). Then for dinner tonight we went to Bandanas, a local BBQ place, and had chicken nachos with another beer!
Lisa - ouch! Hope you are feeling better! Hope Fifedog is getting better, Kurt's baby, PK's friend, and pray for Mrs. Blueberry (Thursday, right?) and RT (Thursday) to get good news and the best care, too!
Laz - I got the Hogwarts Express set for my birthday ( a little early). Honestly, I nearly got the thomas set yesterday, but the guy wanted full price, about $40 above prices I've seen online and around other places [eek], so I was good and let it go. Kids want to buy me a little something and got a couple $$$ from my folks too, so will stop at a LHS this weekend and see what grabs me!
We have cake and ice cream left over, so come on over any time! If I'm not awake, just knock "My Dog has Fleas" and Chewy will let you in. Be careful, though - don't drink out of her favorite cup or you'll get the Chewy Curse like Sir James
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Lisa - Just saw your post, Thank Gosh your OK!!!! I didn't think you needed tractors to track deer! Sounds like a wagon is needed!!!
Don - Wasn't using the tractor to "track" the deer. My son shot the deer about 1/4 mi. from his house. We drove the tractor down there to carry the deer back to the barn from the edge of the woods. The tractor has a set of forks on the back with a small pallet which we were standing on. A fallen tree limb caught the pallet and pulled it off, taking my feet right out from under me.
What can I say? Lesson learned.
Thanks Chief, for reminding me of my age.

Wow!! What a great idea!! The Roseyville Railroad and Hobo Festival would be a great event, however, how would you tell the hobos from the citizens?
Lisa, glad you are okay.

SHHHHHH!!!!!!
Now Lisa, you are too "old" to be riding on the back of a tractor. That is for the Grandson. Hubby broke bones and you don't need too. Who would look after you??
Packed and ready for trip to Yankeeland. Raiding up there for a few days. Got Southern sympathizer I am meeting up there. Popcorn and off to bed. 4 AM get up to make it to airport. Then I will be there way too early. Better early than late as the unexpected could happen. Later.
Still sticking to optifast diet so far and feel energetic and lighter.
Lisa sorry for your loss and hope you are not seriously hurt from fall off of tractor(I fell off a fork lift once I guess that is why they have safty belts)
Brutus- we allways knew you were a turkey My youngest sister has her B-day thanksgiving.
Job is getting better everyday as I grow used to the processes.
Greetings All
Happy Birthday - Brutus !!!!
Doug hope you and your bride get some fine time during your trip!!
Congratulations Chief - MAYOR - That's good ! As I understand it, one of the primary tasks is raising the standards on crime prevention and investigation. That's going to be tough! Trying to solve all those cold cases, given that everyone in the south has the same DNA and there are not any dental records.
Negotiations are on going here, (wait till she finds out my Big Boy arrives on Friday) coming up with some secret plans. Everything should work out!!!
Hey guys! Only got to read the last couple of pages. Thanks to all for the kind words and condolences.
So..... Let's see if I got this right.......
The Chief is now Mayor Chief (or is it Chief Mayor?) and already an investigation has been launched less than 24 hours after the election.....
DonB is living in a doghouse...his trains are in a tent on his roof - that must be one steep grade!
DougM has left Chicago for Florida and he's not yet old enough to retire....
JimA is trying to knock workers off of power poles by telepathy......
Brutus is another year older.......
Brent sent Kurt some kids by mail............
RT is suing his heart wiring....
Man - I'm tired just trying to figure all this out
....And then, I took a nasty tumble off the back of a Ford3600 tractor Monday night. Was out with my son and husband tracking a deer my son had shot. No real injuries but I hurt in a lot of places I didn't even know I had!
Have a great time in Orlando, Doug! It was mighty chilly waiting outside for Julia at school this afternoon! Time to get the snowblower tuned up!
Hey Dennis, I've been looking for a copy of the First All Star Electric Trains! I never got one.
Congratulations Chief! Hope they don't take too much of your train time away for civic duties.
Lisa, sorry to hear the bad news. It is a good thing that you were able to be there for the last days. You truely have the angel of mercy spirit of the nursing profession.
Got a package from the train station last week with some older OGR and CTT magazines in it. One is the All Star Trains, first edition sealed in the wrapper. I already have one, but I am sure I will find someone in need. Also, lots of great information about building control panels, etc. I will have plenty of reading to do.
HOpe everyone has a blessed day,
dennis

Brent: Package arrived safely! What a bunch of beauties! Thanks again!
Daughter is finally crawling around the house...very clingy most of last night...we spent the night on the couch, she sat up in bed at 3:00am, and wouldn't stop crying screaming. I had to carry her around most of the am...she didn't want to eat... Gave her some manderin oranges and tater tots for lunch. One hour and 5oz of formula later she's happy! She had a slight fever last night, and today, so we think she's fighting off some virus...oldest too, not quite right.
Mel Good luck on the CatHouse, as well! Hubba! Hubba!
Cool & Crisp for my FRIDAY!!!! 2 days off!!

Hey, maybe....naaah never mind.
Roadtrip, Fifey?!
Back from my walk and it feels like November out there today. Temps in the very low 50's at best. I watched some utility worker on a pole work on a line a good 50 feet up with no harness. He never fell so I kept on walking. He was still up there when I came back so I watched some more. He never fell so I kept on walking.
Back to making money for a few more hours.
