Good Morning all

Welcome Reuben!

Warm (55F) and wet in Southern Ohio.  At work and the assignments are passed out.  I put some pictures of the 594 Track Gang on the Photo fun.  Right now it is just setting on the layout.  At some point when I'm not working at work, or on the garage I'll get it installed.  Train room is a wreck right now because that is where Santa hides gifts.

Colin-How is the knee?  Hope feeling OK

Buckeye- Looks like a busy train room.  I'd like to see it some time.  Maybe when classes start up in January a get together could be arranged?

Javier-Glad you got to the Duke Energy layout.  Pretty neat.  The Union Terminal Museum has other great displays in addition to the train layout.

The photographer who was at the Mass when I received the Rite of Acolyte sent me a picture, and I thought I'd share it with you guys.

I'm the one kneeling in front of the man in purple

May God bless

Jim

Good morning everyone,

The knee is feeling better. It is still hard to get around the house, but it's getting better. I'm hoping for the rest of the pain to go away soon.

Have a good day everyone.

I'm am one tired toy train operator today after 50-60 people "helped" me run the trains last night.

CSXect...After reading your hamburger list, are you sure you are from the Columbus area? Confused [%-)] You forgot the THURMAN CAFE in German Village.

Your are more than welcome to visit and run the layout. Bring the kids. I am home for the whole month of January except for one weekend meeting for work.  Now where is that meeting?  Oh, I remember!  Have you ever heard of Orlando? Also congratulations on your Rite of Acolyte.  I guess Pope Benedict could not get a flight into Portsmouth at this time of year.  All the tourist traffic really puts a strain on your airport. Wink [;)] Have you ever heard of the Newman Center at OSU?

Colin...Let's put this into perspect.  You play soccer and you have knee problems.  I played hockey and have no knee problems.  Therefore it is time you changed your sport. Wink [;)]  With physical thearpy you will be in the chase in a short time.

Never been there, however there are some good places to eat in that neigborhood. Schmitds sausage haus, Max and ermas(Max is dead but I am pretty sure Erma is still around) there is an Ice Cream shop thats suppose to be pretty good down there. Ever eat at Plank's there are two of them one on High street and one on Parsons its the same family that owns both bar and grills they have very good pizza. And the Manticore (sp?) a private club is now open for lunch to the general public on some days.

Howdie All !

Kinda the calm before the storm around here. Gotta start puttin' everything in order, ie housekeeping, before starting preparations for Christmas festivities.

Hope our friends from across the pond drop in, came across a youtube video of a sound change/upgrade to the Hogwarts and am wondering if it would be a worthwhile endeavor to make the change.

Evening all

Thanks again on the congrats

Colin-The word is ADVIL or Ibeproven (sp?)  Works great for me for swelling and pain.  Do they have you doing the ice/heat thing?

Buckeye- Thanks for the invite!  It would be just me and maybe my bride as she attends some of the classes also.  I'll look at my class schedule / work and see when there is a time when I do not need to rush south to be at work by 6:30 p.m.  The Pope could not make it due to lack of security because of all the people visiting Minford and the famous Mule Town Mini Mart.  Have you been at the Greater Portsmouth International Airport?

I've been to the Newman Center a few times.  Oldest daughter went to OSU for a while.

CSXect- Schmitts MMMMMM good.  Ever have their beer sampler?  Goes great with their brats and German potato salad.

Have a great evening, may God bless

Jim

Sturgeon,

I'm using a tylenol ibeprovine mixture. I have an Iceman, and the icepack is inside my brace, and I have a hose that circulates the water.

The pain has been very tolerable, so I'm very happy about that. I've been playing XBOX360 for a while, but now I'm watching The Kingdom with my dad.

Have a good evening everyone.

Good evening all,

It is windy and cold in SE Indiana today.  I spent the last two days at the local historical society.  Saturday we had ONE visitor, but he did stay about half hour.  Today we had over ten, but two of them were Lucas and his girlfriend.  Jumijo, thanks for the comments on the Cheap Classic articles.  Unfortunately, Lionel has stopped making most of the series that I wrote about.  The only line still made is the two-bay hoppers.  I have some ideas from time to time, but I have to have time to write them down.  Good to hear the surgery went well for you, tmcc man, and hope your recovery goes well, too.

We have been watching Christmas movies lately.  We watched "Ernest Saves Christmas" last night and "The Polar Express" last night.  I also washed three vehicles yesterday as it was fairly warm outside, and I ran the 318E in the attic last night.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good evening freinds!

I appologize for not being active on the forum lately.  Been busy with family, work and most importantly my 12 step program.  So much for annonimity,eh? Wink [;)]

This doesn't mean the trains have been put on the back burner....NO WAY!  I've amassed quite a few new items over the past year....some PW, some Standard Gauge and some scale O for the future big layout.  2 recent scale engines have EOB which is totally awesome for someone like me who likes crawling motive power.  No more dreaded stalling on curves or inclines.

Aside from the sounds, Atlas sure has done a wonderful job on their new 0-6-0.  It's good to have small engines that run so smoothly yet can still pull a 15 car train with ease.  Can't wait too see how Legacy improves on the performance.

Now that outdoor work has stopped ( rebuilt the garage last summer and fall ) I can move indoors.  There's a few small honey doos to finish and then I'm back to working on the attic where the new layout will be located.  I will not have the head room needed for a proper room.  I plan to compensate by having rolling office chairs and a table top height of about 3' to keep things generally at eye level.

I hope this note finds you all happy and healthy and sincerly wish you all a Merry Christmas.

  It's good to be back!

I had hoped to stop by and read some great Christmas stories of kids and trains and the like.  Please, no reason to rehash old arguments...does not help.  Forgive and move on.

God Bless,
