I posted three yesterday (or I think I did?), but only one showed up (senior moments methinks).

Global warming ?????

Not when I have frozen flower beds and ice on the ground until after 3PM yesterday when I am just outside San Diego.

On top of that our weather warnings for the next few days requires you carry a scorecard to keep track:

1. Wind Warnings

2. Red Flag Fire Warnings

3. Frost Warnings

4. Freeze warnings

But I guess it still beats shoveling snow....

Well I won a set (3 pieces one motorized) of K-Line Budd cars (B&O) on eBay this evening with shipping I'm looking at less than $80.00 for them so I'm guessing that's a fair to good deal not sure what there worth anymore mainly because Greenberg's doesn't put out a price guide for K-Line like they do for marx, lionel, mth, and American Flyer.

Anybody know any company that does a price guide for K-Line?

Laz I'm going to start grabbing some of those pallets and maybe separate them and the next time I come up bring you a load if you want will try to get a pic of the pallets so you can see what they look like as they don't look like what normally you would think when say a pallet.

Oh final count is on my O gauge trains (surprised me about 10 more engines and 60 more cars than I thought) but anyway right now have 44 engines and 205 rolling stock (freight/passenger cars) That's counting whats in the 7 complete train sets with boxes. All conventional item no command. Haven't gotten that brave yet as every time i go into my LHS it seems he has another one either brand new he tried or someone brought back that has a circuit board or something messed up on them. I would bet he has had to service about 5% if not more of what he has of command control . he's only been in business a little over a year. I remember he got 3 train sets of the same in and all 3 had malfunctioning engines.

I'm sure its really probally less but it seems like its to often to me.

well time to check my eyes for water tight integrity. Later All

RTRAINCOLLECTOR,  went to Lancaster and on the way back off of 283W a little town called Salunga, Pa. there is a little train shop there called Cool trains they have a web site I think it is

www.cooltrains.com

Not bad JELECTRIC goes there.  Then about 10 miles west of there in ELIZABETHTOWN, where JELECTRIC lives, I go to BARRYs Trains.  This is where I get about 90% of my stuff always gives mre a great deal.

JIM F. those car just tenderize that meatWink [;)].

Well went and got all the running around today in Lancaster and Harrisburg.  Stopped by BARRYs and he bought out someone estate and picked up 5 gondolas,K-line, for $40.00 all with metal trucks and wheels.  Brand new out of the box.  Got two box cars that I'm going to customize one for the Chicago Bears and another for the KC Chefs, brothers team.

Got a question for YUZ GIZ?  I have a B&A Lionel 0-8-0 switcher it has command and all the stuff, but tonight while running it after a certain speed it will lurch and then go lurch and go only past a certain speed.  I tried to reset using the aux then 0 and also the reprograming with the aux and 74 anything else I sould try?

  Thanks.

RT - I'm sure you are right.  I was just mad because he didn't just tell me they've got one but can't share or something.  Actually, it will be nice having a nearby place I can run to for 1 more piece of track or whatever and I hope that they make a go of it.  Glad to hear you are feeling better.  I read all these posts and lose track, but I hope everyone is doing well, all doctor visits are good.  Glad everything went okay for Chief too.  How's your skin doing - didn't mention, or is that a different doc?

I thought I posted this morning before we went to Costcos, but I guess I didn't?  I also thought I posted last night very late, right before I went to bed, but it's not there either.  I searched my posts an dnot there.  Early oldtimers.

I had a question yesterday - one LHS has a Lionel Wabash Bunk Car - not sure what year this would be.  It is illuminated and has smoke.  It's 49.95.  I can get breakdown bunk cars from the Cascade set that are illuminated for like $20 to $25 plus shipping = about $30.  Anybody know if the Cascade set Bunk Car is a smoker?

Evening all

Grandskids came up so we ran trains.  Lots of fun.  After they left I got the alternator on the truck fixed and in, rectifier went bad.  Repaired the original and re installed.  All going well now.

I would love to go  to the Train Show in Columbus this weekend but working dayshift both Saturday and Sunday.  Maybe next time.

Wet but still warm so I started putting polyurethane on this last bookcase.  Got to take  advantage of the warm weather even if it is humid.

I hope the weather breaks for you all with the ice storms, we had some bad ice storms a few years back and you can still see the effects of the broken down trees.

Take care I hope all is healthy

Jim What the case there is boss probally said if anybody ask we don't have one but to my knowlage its fed law to have one for employees but you don't have to let the public use it so what should have been stated is we don't have a public restroom.

Any way glad all are doing fine tonight . I seem better than this am.

Laz, too bad no deer this year.  Somebody bagged one at the entrance to my subdivision with a car the other day.  Kids got a real good look!  "Yuck!"

Picked up a magazine with David's article yesterday too, need to read it still.  I'm sure it's great!  Shock [:O] - I owe him an apology, for sure.  When he got his little bandsaw I was telling him how easy they are to use and stuff.  Well, I had to set one up from scratch this afternoon and it took forever!  My son was helping me and finally we got to saying "If it don't work, look for a leeeedle screw.  Den - turn it!"  Kept the language in the okay range (from me) and him from getting too bored.  Once I got it set up, it worked fine, but like I said, I should have been a leeedle more nicer I guess!

Went to Costco and bought Turbotax deluxe for $21.  Also picked up a new set of pots and pans that are dishwasher safe and nonstick with really thick plates on the bottom.  We've got a stove with a smooth top and the old pots start to bow out on the bottom and roll.  You end up with a real hotspot in the middle.  Looks like these will last a lot longer since there is a heavy and thick plate attached/built into the bottom.

A new hobby store opened right here in Arnold - just found it in a new shopping center they just put in.  They had trains in the back, but mostly HO and N.  They had some Lionel O gauge (4 RTR sets), some fastrack, O track and O-27 track.  They had some remote O27 switches but at $36.99, a little too high priced for me!  Kirkwood Hobby Station and Schaeffers are both cheaper.  Finally though, I needed to use the bathroom.  I asked some kid working there.  He looks right at a door in the back, then says sorry, we don't have a bathroom.  I think he is a liar!  So, I told the family to put all their stuff back down and we left.  Went next door to Quiznos and used their facility (just in time).  I doubt I'll go back anytime soon.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Chief, good to hear things worked out OK.  Since your sinus infection has stuck with you, should the new antibiotics not do the job, you may need some steroids to go with them.  As for the flu shot, I hope you don't get the flu.  When they make up the vaccine, they take a best guess as they must do it months in advance as to which strain it will be.  Over the last ten years, they never made the correct guess.

I went back and read some posts that seemed more becoming of the "other" forum.  Sad, but I know that this is still the place to come for great information and friendship.  Hope y'all have a good night.  Seems like the deer are all around us and driving the dogs nuts.  I hope they bed down soon so I can sleep tonight.

Dennis

Everything came out alright at the physical [including her finger Shock [:O]].  Will get blood test results later.  Been flying too much as gained weight.  Did give me strong antibiotic as she said I still had the sinus thing I had a month ago when I saw her.  Said that is why I cough so much.  The sent me to x-rays and tha ttook a long time.  Checking for heel spir, checking neck for build up [I've had neck surgery] and checking lungs since I have had pneumonia so much.  Got pneumonia shot.  All other shots up to date [rabies, distemper and parvo Wink [;)]].  Got back in time to walk to pond.  Buddy Dwight was there fishing.  He caught 2 lb crappie in my pond yesterday.

Evening all...

Went to the York Show yesterday with wife in tow... we saw some awesome deals but refrained from purchasing too much since we want to get the house work started, get the house on the market, and start building the new one!

Anyhoo - picked up the Lionel Road Crew, flickering fire barrel, and a conductor with lantern that lights up.  Really wanted the A-B-A Chessie F-7s I saw, oh well, another day.

Still nothing from CharlesRo, and the US mail was off today!

Wife and I did some house shoping yesterday... found a few possibilities...

Well I'm off to make a call to a particular hobby store...

Fife - no that wasn't me... I was the guying trying to keep up with the lady walking incredibly fast out of the stadium!

I hope it turns out to be a Colts/Saints SB and the Saints win it!  Would love to see San Diego's discharge win the SB!!!  LOL!

Sorry Laz!

Chief, hope she is on the mend.  Also hope the physical went OK.  We had some sick kids this weekend, but I think all is better.  Kim will be home with them while I am working.  No mail today for MLK, but I am waiting on a delivery of scale autos from MotorMint, been since November 30th and I am getting anxious.  not much else to report.  Plan on workin on the layout tonight.

Good afternoon, all! Cloudy and warm here in central Alabama - 74 degrees with rain coming later, then back down in the 20s by tomorrow night. Go figure!

Pretty normal Monday here in Prattville. Made some hospital visits including one to a family with a new baby boy (their first) which is always fun. Staff meeting early, meeting with insurance agent to renew church's policy, return phone calls, then visiting some prospects this evening. Typical day in the life of a Baptist minister.

Chief - Hope the physical exam goes well.

My toy train enthusiasm begins to wane as the holidays are over. Seems like I have the same cycle each year - winter: momentum from Christmas and a few purchases, dream about a new layout. Spring - less interest as yard work begins to take time, still posting on forum and one or two purchases. Summer - Busy with church activities, mission trips, planning for the fall. Almost no interest in trains during hot weather, posting is sporadic. Fall - interest picks up as the leaves begin to change. Plans begin and are implemented for the Thanksgiving - Christmas layout. And the cycle continues . . . Smile [:)]

Morning/afternoon all!

Cold here and clearing. High 20's today. Media blew the big ICE storm of 2007 completely out of proportion as usual. Predicted 1 inch of ice. In the Dallas area we got maybe .1 inch and it was essentially gone by the time we got up today. A few bridges needed sanding. One or two confined areas in the metroplex got a coating, but not widespread. The media hoopla negatively affected the Plano train show attendance. Media kept saying the roads were freezing. Had folks who drove in from Fort Worth. Wet roads - no ice. Media shold report the news - not what they think the news should be - gets worse every year. When they couldn't find any big ice accumulation here after 2 days, they started reporting from OK and near the panhandle where they could find some ice.

Buckeye - LOL

The cold here must be due to another layout push by the Chief.

Head out to NYC Wed for the Grand Central Terminal Lionel layout disassembly, packing, and shipping for storage.

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy
