Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is cold here. 18 degrees Sunny. Going up to 35 and sunny. It's nice to see blue skies and sunshine after 3 days of rain.

Today, I am going into Cambridge, grocery shopping. Hate that job, but it has to be done. Gas prices are down again $2.10. Must be time to jump around on the pump prices. Maybe later, I'll do a little work on the layout and run some trains. I need to take some pictures.

Well, Dining Car is serving breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Chuck

Mornin' boys.  Well looks like I've got a "mini" vacation on my hands...6 year old came down with the "chickee-pox".  I've got some new nickel-metal hydride batteries ready to be installed in a couple of engines, guess I'll do that today.

88 - those images are awesome!  I'd try sending them to MTH, since they no longer concern themselves with accuracy.  They look like they just came from the art department of the what-ifs...  The C&O version looks like two BL-2's spliced together, either way, good show.

Good morning all,

It is sunny and cold in SE Indiana with temps in the 30s.  Lucas had his girlfriend over for a visit last night.  I went to the YMCA.  My wife subbed for an entire day for the first time this year.  It was a rough day for her as some of the kids were ornery.  Oh well, she will get back into a routine.  Lucas works tonight so I may get some train running done in the back room.  Dweimer, I can sympathize with you on the El Camino.  Sometimes it takes an act of Congress to get anything accomplished.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

only 19 degrees this morning when I left for work!

Supposed to get to a high around 32 today...

Weathermen can't get their act straight... one channel is calling for rain/snow mix on Friday and Monday, other channel is calling for sunny skies! Confused [%-)]

Sure sounds like a MAJOR WAFFLE HOUSE invasion is brewing.

Surrvived the week-end, and actually a little warmer today.  Got up to 63.  So maybe the door is moving a little.

Trying to coordinate the El Camino upgrade....

Bought a flair kit from Guy A, he recommended Guy B for some other things I wanted.  Guy B is known as "El Camino Mike"

Guy B says high I can get a Really great paint job from Hector, Guy C.

Guy C can't figure out the flair kit, calls Guy B, and returns some of the parts to him.

Guy B calls Guy A, Guy A says I've made over 50,000 of these and there all the same. (Didn't know their where that many El Caminos.)

Guy B calls me to take the parts to Guy A.  Guy B says he isn't sure what the problem exactly is that Guy C is having.

I go to Guy B  pick up the parts, then go to Guy C to see the problem.  (alignment issues).  Go back to office call Guy A to make sure their wasn't the wrong part in the kit.  Guy A insists the kit is correct, and can I bring the car to him.  (Can't it is totally stripped for repainting.)  Finally Guy A says he will call Guy B, and they will go see Guy C.  But I have the parts!!

So I got to get the parts to Guy C, before Guy A and B get there.  Don't understand why they needed my involvemnet.

Banged Head [banghead]

Think I'll go play with the trains.

Don,
I know it is frustrating for you, but that was one funny story!  I would take it the Guy A, B, and C know each other, at least it seems that way... but one has to ask... don't these guys have telephones and know how to opperate them?

It is getting this way with CharlesRo and my engine... I email in the morning, get no response, call in the afternoon and am told 'it shipped last Thursday or Friday', get to work the next day and get an email response, 'We are waiting to ship the correct item till we receive the wrong item we shipped to you back, then we will ship the correct item'! Banged Head [banghead]Disapprove [V]

Talk about shotty customer service!  I could understand if I ordered the item they shipped, and then wanted to return it for something else, but THEY shipped me the wrong item and now when I call they make it seem that I am the one causing this fiasco! Angry [:(!]

Good morning from a chilly New England.

It's a bit nipply here today. Temps in the single digits. I liked the warm weather we were having BEFORE the Chief came up here!!

Antibiotics can upset a stomach for sure. I was just on a very strong one for pneumonia. By the end of the course, I was feeling it. On the bright side, my previously too tight pants now fit much better! My wife is having an even worse time. Fortunately, she is now done taking them. She could stand to lose a few as well!!! Wink [;)]

Chief, the layout is looking great. A long train on my layout is 12 cars. anything longer and it looks like a snake chasing its tale!

Gonna pay the good Dr. Tinker a visit pretty soon. Haven't seen him in a while. Got some bidness to discuss with him.

Roy, have a great trip to NY. Taking down the layouts?

Don, good luck with that El Camino. What a hassle! You should have bought a Corvaire!

Why did you post this????  Doesn't bother me but I wonder.  Wife started Zpack this evening and has gone 4 times since I have been home from Town Board.  I'm on a stronger one than she is.  This usually doesn't bother her.  Hope she doesn't have the flu. Stuborn and will not take flu shot like I do.

I'll sleep on the couch tonight so I don't get it and she can rest [or maybe me rest as she may be up and down all night].

Chief - great job on the layout - really looking good for bare tabletops - now - when do we get scenery? Shock [:O] I heard some rumor about GRITS mountains?

Off to the Big Apple early early tomorrow. Check in when I get back Sunday. It will be nice to get somewhere a bit warmer than Dallas!

Have a great day tomorrow all!

I was off yesterday and watched Superman Returns... not a bad flick... they changed some stuff I don't agree with, but that isn't why I am posting this...

In the movie Lex Luther and his cronies attempt to recreate a miniature version of Superman's Crystal cave. They take a chip off one of the crystals and toss it into water on an O-Gauge RR! What I wouldn't do to have the layout in my basement! Of course the layout gets destroyed as the crystals grow!

Any one ever seen a layout plan for that layout?

There were photos posted on the web somewhere at one point.  It may have also been in CTT.  You could try searching the forum or Google it/

Hello All!    Chief- Your Layout is super. For Scenery you'll need a Beaver Pond & a Mountian in the Background called Mt. Jim A- let's see the movies!  As for Superman Returns layout, there was a thread on here about it and it had a link to a website with lots of info - maybe do a search?  Looking pretty good Chief!  Long day at work and just got the kids down.  Picked up graphite for the derby car and a bolt for my 'new' bandsaw I bought 2 years ago but just got set up.  Cold and snowing here, but just flurries today.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening all,

Well, winter returned today with about 3" of snow. It has been the strangest winter for Western NY since I can remember. Usually by now we have measured our snow in feet. Unfortunately the ski areas are not doing well and all the businesses that rely on the snowmobile traffic are losing a lot of money. I am waiting to see what February will bring.

I tried to win an item on Ebay yesterday but didn't get it. I was trying to get a Lionel Bethlehem Steel welding car. I will have to keep looking.

I will get back to American Idol. Have a nice evening.

HI GIZ,

Well I greased up the Lionel B&A 0-8-0 and reprogramed it also oiled it and checked under the hood for wires pinched and still the same thing runs slow good but when I speed up will hesitate and go and hesitate and go. All kinds of lurching.  Got to take it in for repairs.

I'm not a fussy eater Laz.  Doc Holliday's is good for steak, there are a bunch of the chain restaurants around PBS so just pick one and it will be OK with me.

Lets see when the time nears but sounds ok to me.  Docs or any of them close to BPS.

Fife,
I'm not interested in the Chessie F units for any other reason than I think they are beautiful.  If I ever find a GG-1 in need of restoration I am going to pick it up and repaint it in a Chesapeake and Ohio paint scheme, if I find two then the other is getting a B&O paint scheme...

Nurse just called, cholesterol levels are great, blood sugar level is very good, PSA outstandingly low, liver functions OK but: got spur on vertabra in neck and sinuses stopped up.  Hope to get by for a while before I have to have another neck operation [left side this time] and taking stro9ng antibotics for sinuses.

Now:  trains run all the way to the back of walk-in.

High speed NS coal and piggyback train passes slower NS pulling Canadian grain train.  Can pull LOOONG trains and they disapear and sounds goes too.  Got them up to about 80 scale mph and no problem with 072 curves.

Look to the right of the grain elevator, you can see NS caboose and back piggyback of the outside loop coal and piggyback train being pulled by SD80, Dash 8, SD80 lashup.

Town Board tonight and then off to Greenville NC tomorrow mid morning for Overton's training.  Back Thursday night.  Only a short drive [70 miles one way and will go by Mom's].
