Hi GIZ,
Big news for me and the BRO. We both got pheasants today, no kidding. My brother started the day off smoking a cockbird just as we started off. We watched it fly off I said see you later. But about 45 minutes later we caught two of them at a hedgerow, my took off flying and hit him, BROs ran and he got him. Great nite for DA LAZ boys. Had fire ate burgers and hot sausages, washed down by a few beers. Ah don't get any better. Also saw 4 nice buck spotting deer.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Hi Chief,
Don't talk to me about the Soooo!!! stupid Olympics!! They are so over budget (increasing at £2/$4 million a week) that the national debt will run up to another 60yrs repayments. The new Eurostar service starts Tuesday to St Pancras. They've spent so much on those silly games there's nothing left for the rest of the country, so all major infrastructure projects are on hold until 2024. By which time I will be long gone.

It happened again! The thing just froze. Methinks this could be the precursor of a cold winter. And me planning to move to the land of the wild Haggis BBBRRRRR!!!!
I've just gone back to Thunderbird for my e-mail as OE6 was screwing up, now it looks like I'll be lighting up Firefox again. What is it with Microsoft? They want us to buy Vista when they can't even get XP working properly!
It's Rememberance day here/your Veterans day. A bright, clear morning for the Poppies. Sad to say that an ever increasing number of younger people have lost sight of the debt they owe to those who fell in securing their future!
My daughter is marching in a Veteran's Day parade this morning with her Brownie troop. At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, they will lead everyone in the pledge of allegiance in honor of the vets.
It's going to be chilly out there.

Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. ...and good mornin' Grayson. Sunny & 41 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Have to wait until fifey's-wifey wakes up to find out what my day will have in store.
jefelectric - I certainly would not top off cheese-grits with pecan pie and ice cream.
jimtrumpie - Please stop eating your trains.
Bakeer - We can't get our offspring to remember what 9/11 was, let alone 12/7....and our educators scream for more and more money to turn out chowder-heads.
laz57 - "smoking a cockbird'... Okay, I'm a little out of the loop on that phrase.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold and frosty 30 degrees. Going up to 56 today, with a chance of rain later.
Today is another busy day. Wife had a restless night. Had to take more pain pills. But, she is slowly healing. Can get up and walk around for a few minutes. I will be busy. Have to figure out what to cook for dinner. No time for trains.
Chief...Have a safe trip home.
Dining car is self service and breakfast is Cheerios.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Morning all,
Salute to all Vets! Thank you for your service.
Keith- Thanks for thinking of me at the Greensburg show, I would have been very tempted for the right pieces, and would pay for them. Love that Flyer stuff!!!
Dennis-Cell phones are one of my pet peeves. I think people talk more now and communicate less.
Laz- Sounds like a great day, very refreshing I bet.
Fife- Cockbird male pheasant, smokin’- getting a great shot, or ???? but Laz would not do that
Chuck- I will pray for your bride's recovery
My bride is giving flu shots at early Mass, I will hook up with her at next Mass, on schedule to help with services.
All take care, going to be another busy day. Driving to Columbus again.
May God bless
Jim
GOOD MORNING
Yesterdays sun lasted until about noon. Haven't seen it since and rain expected.
I will be going to the little TTOS show around 11 and then to the store to pick up my HWX. I cannot believe the fuss over a set that is considered a starter set.And if the truth were known I'd bet money that the biggest share of complaints are from people who don't even have one. They can hide behind their keyboard and say what ever they want. The entire story is from a book, these people should get a life. And stay away from 3 rail track. We can make it look realistic but if you have 3 rail track IT'S a TOY. Sorry I've been reading that other forum. Sir James

Morning folks - Salute to the veterans and thank you very much for your service. God bless the families of those who fell.
Wife is out shopping for food. Need to make a couple phone calls and clean house. Priorities though - check on my online buddies. Sir James - I think the HWX is a great set. A few clunkers will be fixed, nobody is perfekt.
Big thanks to all our Vets!
Kurt
Good Afternoon Y'all!
Happy Veteran's Day to all the vets, THANK YOU! Gotta go soon, but wanted to make a quick stop by the pot. Noticed on Yahoo's opening page a headline about why two holidays for the Vets? If it was up to me, they'd have more.
For the praying crowd, please lift up the movie set this week. Tomorrow we start early (6am) with the train scene. That will be two days of shooting. Then, the end of the week will be the big moment with the big message. Then, in two weeks we shoot the big fire scene. Lots can go wrong as when you mix amatures with real trains and fire.
On the train front, had the P.E. going full steam around the tree and plenty of smoke. Thank goodness for the Megasteam Baking Bread as Lionel's smoke got to be a bit much.
Hope everyone is blessed this week.

Evening to all. Been busy the last few days. Lots of late evenings. Spent more than a hour catching up on posts earlier today. Went to church, worked on some things for work, went to outlets with Mrs. and bought a few things. Big sales with Veteran's Day.
Thank you to all the vets who have served our country.
LAZ - nice photos and Congrats to you and your Bro on the pheasants.
DonB - glad your Big Boy is now working as expected
Chief - better be careful with that food allergy business. Keep your Benadryl handy. May want to talk to your Doc about an Epi-Pen if it continues.
Brent - Sorry to hear about Susan's Uncle and your drive. It is a PIA when the hardware fails.
Take care,
Mitch

HI GIZ,
Went to MOMs today and took her out to eat dinner. Her 84th BDAY is on Wed. All great had a lot o laughs, she was giving it to us for getting pheasants for her BDAY again this year. Last year we both got them right before her BDAY, its like dejavu all over again?
MITCH hope you saved some money for YORK in April?
STUR FISH, great day on Saturday just being outside enjoying all the different colors of folliage, pheasants were a big plus.
All have a good one.
Coffees really old so I'll freshen it up.Bought three things today,at the show I got a plasticville school for$7.00 glued but complete,it will replace the one I repaired and placed back far enough to look good.At the store I p/u my HWX and a suprise. Check out the new k-line operating hoppers they are well made and come with a coal and gravel load.$34.95 retail.Less at most dealers. I must say I do not understand the fuss about the HWX,brought it home ran it on the layout and I think its a gem for a starter set. The short delay on startup is a lot of fuss over nothing and ten minutes of run time and the smoke filled the room. I would guess a lot of those who knocked the set probably don't even have one.
And to all the VETS,,,,THANK YOU Sir James
thank you to all the vets out there.
Was I seeing things or is there an orient express locomotives in the MTH catalog would like to see an entire train of the orient express. Still waiting for MTH to give S a try.

Cool picture RT!
2 of my best friends Dave and John came over with families for Chili, hot dogs, chips and some cold ones! Had a great time and even took them down to run the Hogwarts Express, which ran geat as usual, this time with smoke! MTH "Coffee" smoke - pretty good. Also ran the Spooky Smoke boxcar and it started smoking pretty good after a while - think I need to run it a while more and keep adding some more smoke fluid. Some of the light effects were very cool on the werewolf figure. Hey - No Pile ups! John's daughter Ceclia (miracle baby) just loved the choo choo and was trying to catch the little smoke rings. I think Dave got bored pretty fast, but John offered to come over and help work on the layout sometimes!
Sir James, John S and everybody else, we have left over birthday cake with vanilla icecream! Sorry, the beverages are all gone

Laz-I enjoy hearing about your hunting and fishing trips. It has been four years since I've had the time for decent hunting or fishing, and such a shame it is. Between working in Tennessee for a year then starting th deaconate school, my time has been taxed. There is something special about being in a treestand during the rut at sunrise. The frost in the woods sparkle in the morning light, you feel the cold air in you lungs and when you hear the crunch of footsteps, and smell a buck in full rut coming into your shooting lane, thats excitment!
Hey Sir James - I think I'm going to call that spooky car the Sir James Special (Chewy Curse!) -- if you want, go out and pick up some more beverages and swing down here, we can watch some of my toy train dvds and quench that thirst!
Bit of sad news to report tonight. Towards the end of the evening services they announced that one of the camera operators who was on his way up for the morning filming was in a bad car accident. At the time he was in surgery, but we have just found out that he expired. He leaves a wife and a baby on the way. Filming will be delayed until after Thanksgiving.
I wish I could say something happy about now, but it is hard. I will say that we serve a mighty God and to Him be the glory.
Decided to take call this week after all. Maybe I can get some real work done on the main layout to divert my thoughts. Just something about trains that can ease the mind and warm the heart.
Just got off of the phone with US Airways Preferred Customer Supervisor. Some D--- SOB New England YANKEE employee of their's stole my digital camera and extra chip. I started looking because I knew the luggage had been opened as I always zip both zipper to the middle. Both zippers were at one end. NO NOTE FROM TSA. I could tell they had been through my bag. Picked up the webbing camera case and it colapsed They left my rechargerable batteries but took the extra chip that was in the other compartment. This is going to COST US Airways. Even Ohizo Yankees do not steal from your luggage. I got to the airport 2 hours early in Hartford. It went from the Hartford flight right inrto the RDU plane while in Charlotte [the Hartford plane arrived in Charlotte at the gate next to RDU and they were already loading the luggage as only a 30 minute layover]. Someone had to go through my bag as it was under a big coat, Pro Mariner soft brief case, clothes and shoes. Supervisor is filing complaint but asked me to return to the airport tomorrow and file a claim too. Going to Dr. tomorrow afternoon so will go from there. Epi pen, I just threw one away that was 5 years old from after the "big attack" I had back then. Well, time to eat dinner.
Later
Morning to All. Just put on a fresh pot. Seems the forum was down until a few moments ago. Ravens stunk up the joint again yesterday. The 48 is just on a level above the rest of the NASCAR crew. Unless he has a major wreck or has some other reason for a DNF next weekend the Nextel Cup Championship is his.
Big budget meeting today. Got to get to work early to get things straightened out budget-wise before a 2:00 PM meeting with Asst. Superintendent and Director of Curriculum.
Chief - what a PAIN - sorry your camera and memory card are gone. Hope they catch the crook but doubt it will happen.
Dennis - Condolences and prayers go out to the family and your church family on the loss of your colleague from the camera crew.
Brutus - a belated
Chuck - Hope your waitress is back on her feet soon. I know I am lost when my Mrs. is out of commission or laid up with some ailment.
Have a great day.
Doug - glad to see you made it home from FLA ok. I think you're going to enjoy all those Thomas items. I'll bet you're tired!
I am going to be making up a sheet of clear decals for my daughter's train. I'll most likely have space left over that would just be wasted blank space. So if anyone has a need for decals, let me know and I'll try to squeeze them in. I did some for Doug last time on some spare space. I'd rather not waste the film space if I don't have to. PM me if you want decals.
Dennis: Sad news...Prayers for his Wife and baby.
Refrigeratorhas beed acting poorly...runs all the tim, and is icing up, controls frozen.. 13-yo...It came with the house.
Bride woke up yesterday, and said we need a new refrigerator. 'We'll go to Sears to look'. Translation, 'I'm walking out with a new refrigerator today'. Refrigerator being delivered today.
Had bride convinced that the Empire Builder was a great idea to get everyone to Minnesota for Thanksgiving! 14-hour ride (it'll take us that much driving), kids can run, no strapped in seats, family bedroom...Arizona in January, new refrigerator, Christmas...Looks like we're driving. Youngest doesn't travel well, or sleep away from her bed well.
