Morning all.  Wrong Kurt.  With the price of gasoline, everyone is getting HOT DOGS for Thanksgiving and Christmas.   I love hot dogs though.  Love them with mustard, onions, chilli [no beans] and none of that sour cabbage stuff.   Was so sleepy I hit the bed early.  Slept till 7 AM.  Now to finish unpacking and put away [in attic] my roller bag.   Got to get some under the layout work done.  Wife wants other spare bedroom emptied by next Wed.   Mostly her tubs of decorations.  Finish getting wires "tied up" under there and clean out stools and some "supplies".  Pack those tubs away.  Warmer here.  Actually need to be fishing.  Maybe slip some in.  Meetings this afternoon and then free for a few days.  Have a good one.  Later

CSXetc – keep up the weight loss.  A friend at work with weight watchers and exercise lost 150#.  He is at 165# now.  Totally changed the appearance of guy

Chief- fuel prices are crazy, and someone (wonder who???) is raking it in.  The truck needing fuel but with diesel at $3.59 a gallon a fill up would be $129.  Good luck to get in the fishing

Dennis- I’ll keep the family of the cameraman in my prayers, especially over the next couple of months.

Very wet in Southern Ohio.  Finally got caught up on stuff and picked up framing material for the garage addition and now it rains.  Oh well, I’ve worked in the snow and rain before.  I’ve said if I would hunt in the weather, I can work in the weather. 

Maybe some train time this afternoon.

morning fellas, morning lisa, morning Jumijo...

Long tiring weekend.  I came down with a touch of the Flu on Friday which made the trip to Alabama all the more tiring.  The service was held in Gadsden, where they have a really neat trestle leading up to a swing bridge... which I was not able to get pictures of because the driver was in a hurry.  Susan said we would be going back down soon for a longer visit and I would be able to get pictures then, won't post what she called her brother as it would result in a lifeterm banning from the site.

We made it home on Sunday and decided to forego the Ravens game as we were beyong tired (and I was still sick).  I did manage to finish laying the tile in the bathroom (took me 8 hours to lay 20 tiles, but it got done).  Was supposed to grout yesterday as I had off, but I chose to rest and let the floor set up.  Will grout tonight.

Dropped Susan off at the Amtrack station in Baltimore yesterday for her trip to Jersey.  She'll be home tomorrow.  I was disappointed that I couldn't ride the train with her... she said we'll take the train to Alabama when we go next time... that would be cool!  Starting to think she actually likes me!   When I got home I laid down and fell asleep for a couple hours, woke and found the house to be too cold, so I put on my heavy coat, grabbed the fireplace gloves and wood carrier, and headed to the wood pile for some firewood.  In less than 5 minutes I was warm as a bug in a rug and the kitty cats were nestled infront of the hearth.  They wouldn't even move when I had to stoke the fire or put a log on... thought they were dead!  Then made stuffed peppers and fries for dinner (grey cat woke up long enough to lick the tomatoe sauce off the plate), watched 'New World' or whatever, movie about John Smith and Pocohontas... boring... then watched Batman Begins (had volume turned up), then watched Dark Territory (Steven Segal movie), part of it takes place on a train, and then CSI: Miami... then watched some of MNF and fell asleep.

Good morning all,

After an early morning rain, IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s again.  Worked on the layout some more last night.  I got the track fastened down, but I am not so sure about using zip ties.  They hold the track in place, but it is not too snug.  I may have to add more than one set per section of track.  I also saw Helio on "Dancing with the Stars".  He and his partner had the judges' top scores for the night so I hope they make it another week.  I was hungry before I went to bed so I had a little snack.  Big mistake.  I have to learn to eat earlier in the evening before I go to bed or else I will have to get use to sleeping in the chair.  Just the usual fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

It is a cool 54 degrees. Rained a little earlier. Going up to a sunny 68 degrees.

Today. I am taking the wife to her Doctor for a surgery follow up. She is doing better. Still has to wear  the big shoe. I'll be glad when it's all back to normal. No trains, again, today. Busy.

Dining car was here and left for " points west ". Breakfast was early.

Morning folks - 51 degrees this morning and damp out from rain all day yesterday.  If this keeps up, I'll have to mow the yard again.  Guess I sat in too many chairs or moved too many so my wife could test the mechanism (for some reason they put furniture too close in the stores and you can't recline the chair properly to test it?) 'cause I hurt my back.  Oh well, nothing planned at work today but work, so no big deal.  Just watching old movies with Chewy.  Sir James, hope your visit goes well.

Good morning from a sunny and coolish Chicago where it is supposed to be in the mid-60s today. Thank You global warming. Canceled most of my meetings as most other attendees are out ill - but kept a nice lunchtime meeting with food provided - a rarity these days. Double-hooray. Spent most of last evening going over math with the middle boy - he is having a tough time with it. Then watched 'The Closer' with the bride. Found my brother a nice Christmas gift this morning: a book highlighting kid's toys of the 60s and 70s. Lionel prominently featured.

She's in an assisted care facility, and close to the rest of the family.  When we go, Grandma is top if the list!  But we're obligated to stay with her father, and see the rest of the family...usually travelling all around the twin cities and 'burbs.  Father lives on one side of the city, and mother lives at the other.  She really wants Grandma to see the children.  I'm postulating just buying the tickets, and getting the bags packed...but I'd really like her to just lay low for awhile.

Mmmmmm  Coney's with chili, mustard, onions, and Lousiana hot sauce!  We had pasta a la olio; Pasta with garlic olive oil, and butter, with Parm cheese...at the eldests request.

Good afternoon!  A little rain earlier today and sunny now, maybe down to low 60's overnight in a day or two.

Maybe a little late but I watched the Miami Dolphins game until the end of the first half and Miami was giving Buffalo an extremely bad day!!! An interception in the end zone instead of a touchdown, now that really was good on the Miami player's part, deflate the ego of your opponant!!!  Even the third quarter was not good for Buffalo, then Buffalo started pounding on Miami severly in the fourth quarter to come back and win 13 to 10.  Seems that Miami is only a three quarter teem, after three quarters they are finished, and that is why they lose the game!!!

Found the Polar Express at a store near the West Palm Beach airport, both the set and expansion pack, didn't buy it!

Back from my walk. It's warm and sunny here. It's been a very busy day. Lots going on. Looks like Buffalo squished the fish, Philly. The Patriots will pay them back for you next Sunday night.

Almost time to go get my daughter at school. Need to stop and buy some aleve for my wife. She hurt her knee yesterday clearing out her dad's garden. Getting old will do that to you.

Jerry Calabrese is scheduled to be at Charles Ro the same day the local semi-annual train show opens. Decisions! I do have a few questions for JC and not much interest in buying any more old trains. Maybe I'll go to C. Ro's and hit the train show on Sunday...

Afternoon.  Dr. called and said xrays indicated nothing wrong.  Just like before.  Popping some new anit-histimine [how ever you spell it].  We'll see.  Got meeting in a little while.  Think I'll eat a littlw chocolate and see if that helps the pain.   Still have tomatoes on the vines.  Cold did NOT kill them nor the peppers.  Just wrapped a bunch of green ones in newpaper and put them away to see how long they will keep.  Went by parts store [Advance Auto] and got 3M Windshield Sealing Ribbon.  The black sticky stuff I use to hold train cars together, a tinny speck on the boxcar's doors will allow them to open but not vibrate open, hold weights to cars and anything else that you want but can be removed.  Comes in 15 foot rolls.  The last one has lasted me over 20 years.  Oh, will seal up leaks and keeps the tops on bird feeders so squirrels can't get in them [but I can].  That is what is holding the foam portals to the wall on the layout.  Later

Vienna Rose.  Like the sausage HA HA HA. Don't let my wife here me say that. She is doing fine. Her night and days are mixed but we're tying to striaghtin that out. She did good last night only woke up 2 times. Carmen is trying to help too. He trys to give her a pacifier but his aim is not that great.

Anyway work gave me a week off. So I gave the wife the week too. I'm Mr. Mom fro awhile. Cooking dinner and some cleaning. I think she's giving me the hint that she wants to cook. I've been clearing out the freezer. She said she didn't want anything I killed during hunting season or caught fishing.

Sunday I had the Family and friends over and made Bar-b-Que ribs and baked ziti. Also made my own BBQ sauce. That went over real well. Some people even took some home with them. It's still missing something. I need to get a smoke flaver into it and then it would be complete. I might try putting smoke liquid smoke in it. Well tonight it's meatloaf (Deer meat) and a fish stew.

Got my Thomas book and my kids are already reading it - though not before me!  Man, this was written way before the PC feel-good stuff of today, hurray!  Loved where the walled up the locomotive that wouldn't come out due to rain, how funny!  I think he deserved it, too.

Son had basketball, so my daughter and I glued together our new barn and chicken coop.  I give, where are the window inserts, door, etc?  Did I get ripped off?

Evening Brutus-I'll let you know tomorrow what the doc. says. never had that flavor ice cream but if i get a taste I want a clean spoon. Chewys caused me enough trouble. Now that you have had the BFOC for awhile,how does it perform ?  I installed some new on/off switchs on the layout today got some Kline closeout ones don't know who designed them but the wire screw downs are to small for the size wire we use/need. Had a hard time getting the wire fastened to them. I am replaceing Atlas slide switches as they do not hold up very well at three rail amps.  Sir James

Actually, I only have about 2 hours running on it - sorry.  So far, so good as long as it's only pulling the original single passenger car or at most one of the add-ons.  That was running it on a simple circle of old 031 track, which might be a little oily though.  I put it on the loop of fastrak Sunday night, but everyone just wanted to run the HWX, so didn't get a shot.  I'll get down there tomorrow night and see how it goes on the fastrak though.  Now that I have a table in the basement, I can do what I want - won't interrupt someone's television shows etc.  BTW: I'll put a little siding on the layout someday and put that 2nd add-on passenger car on it, so I don't feel I wasted the money (much).

Grouted the master bathroom floor tonight.  Used 2 containers of grout mix... only 1 left to do the tub and shower... need to get 2 more I think... fingers are raw... think I'll pickup some latex gloves too... ouch!
