HI GIZ,
30 and not bad to get rain later. Bout 2 inches.
Great show about freight trains on HISTORY CHANNEL last nite, anyone see it?
Happy Friday Eve.

Lisa, perhaps you could get a position in the hospital that is more to your liking. My wife switched to the B*R*E*A*S*T (had to post this way to get past the filters) center where she only works 20 hours over 3 days a week. NO stress and the hours are flexible. Anyway, she has plenty of time at home with the kids and to intercept my train deliveries
I got to watch the show on History Channel last night, just barely made it, then off to sleep. Just one case today and then I am going home. Hope to get a little train work in today. I have a problem with a K-Line porter I need to work out. I think the rods are out of sinc.
Hope Y'all have a great day.

Good morning from New England!
A nice day today followed by a slopping mess tonight into tomorrow.
No trains last night. We attended a basketball game. We got home just in time to watch the freight train show on the History Channel.
Lisa, my wife is an OR nurse (and a PITA). It takes a special person to do the work you do. If I can offer any solice to you on your job loss, it would be that from what I hear, there is a shortage of nurses in the U.S. Some places are actually paying signing bonuses above and beyond a salary. I have no doubt that you will have another job soon. Until then, enjoy your time off and get some quality time in with your trains and your Corvette.

Lisa, Honey, you don't have to move to OHIZO. Plenty of nurse positions in the Triangle area. Duke, UNC, Rex, Wake Med, Raleigh Community and all the Dr's here. Got some nurses that work weekends only and stay with kids during the week. Hubby babysits on Friday nights and thru Sunday nights. Pay top dollar for those.
Had great afternoon. Installed plexiglass shield on outer edge of layout as you come in the door. Will stop any derailments from going over the edge. Raked two truck loads of pinestraw at widow lady's where I cut grass. One load in back of truck for Pam to use while I'm gone. She was really under the weather [thought she was fooling to stay home]. Will load the rest when I get home. Then ran trains for a long time. Ended up running the 2065 on inner loops with big diesels pulling long coal train on outer. Then ran new 2055 [with modified smoke unit] on inner loop. Glad I've got exhaust fan.
Watched the Histroy Channel and the story on frieght trains. We to sleep right after that one. Missed my microwave popcorn. Didn't need it as had fried chicken [3 pieces], mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw from Hardees. Came with a gallon of SWEET ICE TEA.
Rtrain, send me the numbers. I've got free LD on my home and cell phone.
Blue grass festival in Hampton at Holiday Inn this week and weekend. Will enjoy the picking and singing. Fishing buddy will be there picking.
Good night all. Have to get up and be ready by 9:30 AM. Enterprise picks me up.

Lisa, have you ever been to Kiwa Island? or is that in South Carolina? I heard it is a pretty exclusive resort area and a famous golf course as well.
What kind of layout you got what got you into toy/model trains?
I have no layout at the moment and a lot of my family works for CSX out of willard Ohio.

Doug, try using a piece of metallic duct tape stuck to the roof of the body and re setting the existing antenna over it making electrical contact with the tape. I got this hint from TAS a few years ago and it helped cure a couple of engines with weak signal pick-up.

Lisa, Can you spell O-H-I-O? Do you look good in Scarlet and Grey? If you do, Columbus is where you should be! I'm on a first name basis with many of the nurses in ER. Just make sure when you negotiate your salary, you make them include a snow shovel.

Jim, I didn't know that we were destroying the ozone layer on Mars, too. This is worse than I thought!
YOU have just convinced me that I need to take action. First, I need to persuade the Chief that he is using too much electricity and too much gasoline and has been named one of America's Most Wanted Ozone Destroyers (AMWOD). Next I will tell him to send me his trains and boat before the ozone police pay him a visit. If you could call him about once a month and tell him that you are with FBAOD, (Federal Bureau Against Ozone Destruction) and you need to make an appointment to inspect the Eagles Nest, I will share some of the loot with you.
I think our actions should reduce a lot of hot air in Roseyville, NC.

Watching a great program on Freight Trains. Lots of shots of Bailey Yard in Nebraska.
Lisa, sorry to hear about your job. As a nurse, you should have no problem finding something else.
Hope everyone has a great night.

I believe the rest of us have stopped running our toy trains such that we are not contributors to our own extinction. Obviously, the Academy Awards are not broadcast in Iowa or else you certainly would be in complete compliance. If you insist on running your trains, you will need to purchase carbon mitigation coupons. Of course I have coupons that I can sell you. You can continue to run your trains at least once a month. Send me $100 every month and I will send you your carbon mitigation coupons. Small bills preferred. And one more thing that is annoying me. If you want to live out there in Iowa where the air smells great, the water is clean and the neighbors are friendly, you are going to be required to pay a sprawl tax. You and your ilk are just creating a mess. I bet that you even use electricity to run your pump in your well. You are so wasteful!!!In the near future, you are going to be required to move into the city away from your beloved woods and live on the 55th floor of a government building. That will stop you evil sprawlers. Serves you right. Iowa will look like NJ in just a few years. BTW, I can get you a good price on a .45mm.

Buckeye - You Rock, man! That is right on. AND, did you see the electric bill for Al's MANSION? Man, how many jugs of protosmoke would you burn through to run up a bill like that?! Luckily, Mars is warming up at the same rate as Mother Earth, so maybe we will be able to terraform Mars and move there, right before the cycle turns back downward temp-wise and we head for that Ice Age we were promised when I was a kid....
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Sorry to hear that Lisa.Been there also. 26 years - downsized. then 10 years & downsized again.A nephew just lost his job after 15 years & now his brother's job went from evening shift to 4 days of dayshift.
Run the trains, it's great therapy!

I am still running my trains! In Texas we can purchase "green" energy from 100% renewable resources. So I am not contributing to global warming. Before you laugh.....I too figure that very few of the electrons in my house are transported from west Texas windfarms to my SW Houston home especially when I can see a coal fired plant working 5 miles from my house. The funny thing is the plant is located in the middle of natural gas fields. I guess they send all that natural gas to you Yankees!

Brent- Nice Photo's of your Chessie Train-Very Colorful. No bland Norfolk & Southern Colors there. Buckeye- I think the Dems are very hypocritical about Global Warming especially the the Speaker of the House who wants a large Air Force Jet to ferry her from coast to coast. They probably use just as much or more energy than any of us. They want us to think that even cattle contibute to greenhouse gases. I guess that cattle will now have to have Cattle-lytic converters to reduce emissions or else they'll be sent to the Golden Arches in the sky. As far as I'm concerned, Global Warning is just Junk Science. Plain & simple. Take Care all.
I'm doing my part to battle global warming.......I'm eating the cows!!!!
A warm 40 today....supposed to get up to almost 60 tomorrow....but with thunderstorms.
Sorry to hear that about your job been there.....been downsized, quit a couple times and been fired once. longest I have been employed was 5 years did that at two employers first one downsized me and a few others but they did give me a good letter of recomendation the second place had to quit due to health 5 years of 12 and 14 hour shifts 7 days a week just about did me in. I am finding plenty of suitable jobs they just want 40+ hours and weekends.
The Columbus Ohio jobs papers are mostly truck driving jobs and various health care jobs. The last Job I had was paying $16.25 hour a very good wage for columbus with all that overtime I was able to buy and pay for 2 vehicals and a house but could not handel the stress levels and I was having health issues that stress made worse so like a bone head I went back to school to get a B.S in technical management that realy stressed me out but I have a new skill set to add to my resume but I don't want to be a manager.

So many roads, so little time.
Good evening all,
Just read the last several pages, but I'm sure I will not remember a lot.
First, congrats to Reggie on the new job. If your travels ever bring you to Central PA you are welcome to stop in. I can even provide a place to park the truck!
Haven't done much with trains the last couple of days. Started to put TMCC in my Bethlehem Steel Docksider Sunday evening, got about half way and took a break to let the old nerves settle down and never got back to it. That project is a challenge.
Take care,
Back from the house inspection... actually got home around 1:15, setup trains, ran trains, took pictures of trains, put trains away, ate lunch, turned on TV, pull a Chief and fell asleep... have no idea what was on TV...Here are the pics:Chessie F3s in the distance...
Comin' 'round the bend...
Better back off!The Extruded Aluminum Covered Hopper looks real nice...
Fife,I'm looking forward to running the F3s! Let me know when!Brent
Greetings All...
Looks like we are going to get some warm weather this weekend. Wife going to go to Laughlin with Bunco group for a Slot Machine Contest, I get to remove wall paper, and paint... UGH
Don
Afternoon All !
Haven't been posting much lately, primarily just doing some lurking. Glad to hear that some of the illnesses are healing, hope these new pills will help with the arthritis. Its a real pain in the .........shoulders.
Chief, I was in Penneys yesterday and saw just what you need for your train room. It's a battery powered John Deere clock just like the Lionel clock that I got for Christmas.
Congrats are due to a lot of folks for various reasons so I'll just say

When I was at Xerox they would send in enginereers from Webster NY and most of them where about clueless about how to do our job for example some guy had been an engineer for 30 some years and made a vist to the lab and wanted to know yhow we did the orders and wanted to run through one himseff, will each unit had an MRD(machine resident disk(floppy))and it comes in a small case to protect it. Well mr. engineer first tryed to put case and all into the cd drive and then into the floppy drive and we all stood there trying not laugh. We talked to our supervisor and told him to keep the engineers out of the lab. Talk about your ID10T errors.
But that goes on pretty much anywhare, the longer an engineeer has been in management they tend to forget things.
