Warm and muggy hre in the northern part of NC.  Started out cloudy with a fine mist that did NOT develop into any much needed rain.  Wish you guys in the SUNSHINE state would quit hogging it all!

Hope all the Mom's get well soon!  Prayers for all who need them.

Busy getting ready for a long awaited camping trip to Murrells Inlet, SC.  Will try to bring home some fish for those who'd like them.  I'll fry 'em up and have some hushpuppies and cole slaw for the dining car's evening run in about a week or so.

Fife - Wish I was headed to the mountains instead of the coast - Weather forecast looks like it's going to be warm on the coast!

Chief - congrats on your winning$$$$$.  You'll have to head to Burlington and check out that train shop.

Morning all.  Getting ready to pack up and head home.  No rush so will take camera just in case I run into some train pictures.  Big set of double tracks right up the street.  Did hear some diesel horns one morning.  Being my luck, they would be that junky CSX short line.  Chat later.

That was really a low blow Chief !!  Laugh [(-D] I hope you only saw CSX trains all the way home !! I just got back from the train show, only saw N & S trains going & coming home !!  The Chief's fault !! Laugh [(-D]

Well, I had a great time walking around with Chuck at the show !!  We ran into Broadythecableguy & his Dad !!  They both have trains !! Then we ran into Jason that posts here & works where Chuck retired from at GM !!  All great guys to talk to !! Now the rest of the gang was hungry I guess !!  Ha !!  I didn't catch up with them for some reason !!

Well, hope everyone had a nice day, boy, all I did was sweat today !! Laugh [(-D]

Oh, my GPS worked flawlessly too !! I didn't get lost even once !!

Sounds like a great camping trip, Lisa.

Interrupted my tree-felling to take the youngest 'fishing' this afternoon. He came out ready to go with an old aquarium net and a bag of those goldfish pretzels for bait. Walked down to the retention pond for a hour. It was near 90 - I almost fell asleep. He didn't want to leave without a fish. Gotta get this kid a cane pole and bobber.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  I reffed a youth game today which was really good.  The visitors won 2-1, but it was well played on both sides.  We had a birthday dinner at Frisch's and cake and ice cream at his place.  It was a very nice day.  I had the usual fare on the dining car from "Points East".  Friday night when I got home I had a nice surprise.  The December issue of CTT was waiting for me as a suggestion tip of mine was published.  I hope everyone has a nice day.

Keep on training,

Chuck, you noticed that his Honor, The Chief didn't show as he promised.  I will pay the tab for the limo that waited at the airport for his arrival.  Can you take care of the extra meal costs?  I guess we will need to return his gift to the train store for a refund.   I really thought he would show, so we could give him the Gold Lionel Hudson as a gift.  Big Smile [:D]  I bet if we had invited Laz, Jim, Don, Doug, Colin, Steve, John, Roy, Lisa, Dennis and many others to be our honored guest at a OTTS meeting they would be a path to our door to get the Gold Lionel Hudson.

Hey thanks!  I'm gonna look this up!  Looks like something that would be running on Perry's new Sci Fi layout he is building?!  I didn't get back into trains until 2004/2005 and then I think it was HO until 2005, so missed that one.

Oh yeah, got up this early this morning at about 6:30 and met with friends, then we all went to the Scottish Festival.  It was a little pricey to get in at $15.  We missed the dance contest, but got to see some of the piping contest, the games (caber toss, sheaves, etc), and some livestock - including Heeland Coos John Baker!  Got some bangers and chips for lunch.  They had scotch eggs, but I'm not much on eggs. They had haggis, but nobody would go in on one with me and I didn't want to try to eat a whole one on my own!  Oh well, we had some fun and spent some $$$.  Picked up a Corries CD and some cookies.  Just got done playing Medal of Honor with my son - one on one he kicked my ()() pretty bad!!!  I think one round was 10 to 0!  Every time my guy respawned - BLAM!  He'd get me with the bazooka!  That's my boy!

Yes, I took care of the extra meal costs and rolled up the red carpet. I suggest we give his gift to someone else. I even ordered Chief's favorite dish for lunch........Grits served in a galvanized bucket. He miss it.

Next year we should invite a Northern person. I had a phone message from Chief, when I got home. He said he missed his chartered plane and was racing north on I-77. Maybe he wound up in an Ohio jail.  The Jailer probably posted his Bail, just to get rid of him.

And with that..........Good Night.

Hey Brutus,

Perry does have a phantom running on his rails.  Has had a few pictures that he posted a while back.  If you are interested, The Train-Station has a set of the passenger cars for the phantom in the Columbus Day specials that are going on this weekend.  I think it is only one set, so if you are interested, check them out.

Chief, can I have that Gold Hudson?  I know I will have a good place to honor such a fine specimen.  Anyway, not much going on.  Heading to bed.  I am still on call and hopefully they will leave me alone tomorrow as I am on camera for morning and evening church.  May everyone be blessed

Evening everyone,

Brutus, is it the new one, Medal of Honor: Airborne? I finished beating the game a yesterday. I was getting frustrated so I left my 360 alone and beat a lot of levels yesterday. The last level took so long for me to finish.

Colin: It's European Assault, I think?  It's a couple years old and was out in a greatest hits box for $20, so bought it on a whim.  We have played about 3 times for a couple hours each time just doing multiplayer head to head on the different maps.  Last time, we started the single player mode and played just the first level.  Today, after we did the multiplayer for a while, we replayed the first level (I let him do it to the end) and then took turns on the 2nd level.  Managed to nearly finish 2 objectives before we ran out of revivals - the antiaircraft gun and the fuel tanks, but got whacked finally when the TRAIN full of nazi's showed up.

BTW - picked up a dvd set at BB yesterday, had to use up some reward $$$.  It's an old tv show I used to like called Banacek.  2nd episode has him trying to solve the mystery of a flatcar that disappeared enroute from a train with an experimental car on it.  He just pulled out a RTR set with a Santa Fe F3.  For some reason, he's taking the locomotive apart???

Yep, I remember that game. I had it for the original Xbox and if you think that level was hard wait until you get to the last level. It took me a few days to beat it. And also, the problem is that there are no check points, like in Call of Duty. But, they fixed that this year. There are check points in the new one: Medal of Honor Airborne. It was a great game to beat. What system does your son have?

I remember that episode, Butus. The series was set in Boston. If I remember correctly, the car was really a modified AMC Avante.

It poured here last night. I hope today is going to be dry. I want to change the oil in the new car. It already has 1000 miles on it from my long commute.

Off to shoot photos for later.

Good Morning Everyone - Remember its Sunday let's be nice.

Got all my plumbing done.  Did things the right way this time.  I went to 3 different hdwe stores in one trip, instead of making 3 different trips.  It worked, only the one trip.  As it turned,  out none of them had the specific bushings I was looking for.  So cleaned up the existing ones, added a little glue, and put the valve back together.  No Leak.

Worked a bit on the layout, the last corner.  Had multiple issues to resolve.  Lift up bridge generates a 1/2" elevation change in track.  Now this wouldn't be a problem, but two tracks on the bridge.  One side of bridge both tracks coming off curves, and one has a switch.  So getting elevation correct, easy enough.  But on the curve.... the outside rail needs to have a bank, because the weight and centrifigal force genereated creates lots of issues.  And then of course the disconnect/reconnect of the track to accomodate the bridge opening.  Getting all the positions finalized is critical, because of an impending engine yard that is dependant upon these curves.

So, after considerable planning, trials, came up with a solution.  The bridge I'm using is from MTH, I had a sheet metal rectangle cut to reinforce the base for operation.  Simple.... remove the bridge base, and mount the superstructure to the sheet metal.  Eliminates the elevation!  Problem solved !  Curves lay flat, no other force issues,  just have to make sure I electrically isolate the base of the bridge from where the tracks interconnect, and everything will work.  So work will proceed today.

(Wife, doing great, tired of weather in Duluth area.  I think they will be heading to Milwaukee by Tues/Wed, then start home the following Monday.  If anyone needs a ranking on Pot Pies, let me know.  Oh yeah, what's this big deal of laundry anyway?  Just seperate colors/types, throw in washer, put in some soap, turn on machine, come back in an hour.  What in the heck is this cupboard full of stuff for?  Dryer no problem, load up, turn on, come back (usually when I think of it whenever) then shake and hang.  No big deal !

Brutus - (BTW, why do you use Jim in your signature?)  Anyway what's all this about?? (below) Same old stuff you guys with women hanging around, always blaming us single guys for YOUR deeds.  Who is Ms. DeCarlo anyway, only DiCarlo I know is Italian Bread.

"BTW- Google Ms. DeCarlo with the safeties off and you will get a real treat!  Don B put me on to that one!  I guess this is what he gets up to when the wife is away!
