Hi Folks,

Just thought I'd drop a line to let you know Mom seems to be recovering nicely.  A little sleepy and confused today, but I guess that is to be expected 2 days post bypass surgery.

I pray for your family, Mitch- hang in there and God bless you and your mom esp!

Fife, I don't have a kilt, but if I ever get one, I'll be sure to send you a special picture!  Whistling [:-^]  Somewhere around here I have a picture of my ancestors' pattern (through my great grandma on my dad's side).  I've got to get up early tomorrow and drive over to friends, then we're all going together (John and his wife and baby and I) to the Scottish Festival at Forest Park.  Everybody else is in swim practice or something else has come up.  We'll have fun anyway.

Some dingleberry outbid me on my other book I wanted on ebay while I was at work.  Can't do ebay or check home email at work, so there you go.  Who has an auction end in the middle of the day anyway?  I'd think ending around 9PM would get the best possible window for more bids...  Oh well, it was originally a $20 book and didn't want to pay more than twice that for it anyway.  At least I won a different book and a train car!

Congrats on the big win, Chief!  Sounds like you need a new locomotive to me!!!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Jumijo - as attractive as that sounds, probably not good for the polar ice caps (too much hot air centralized in one region)...Nope, the Alleghanies are where I'm a-headed.

Jim,

When I say loaded, I mean loaded.  Lots of nice stuff in the cases in the main room and there is another small room that is packed.  Burro cranes, mechandise cars, cattle cars, 153 block signals and much much more.  I was there twice this week, and I saw that he had a nice 2055 for $140.  Was going to go back for it today until I bought one off ebay for $110.  He has a nice selection of modern era Lionel and MTH.  The owner mainly sells vacuum cleaners, but he branched out into trains and seems to be doing well.  I'll go back once I get more money.Big Smile [:D]

Jim, I bought my 2055 on Ebay as well. I don't remember what I paid for it, but I love it. I have that, 2 2056s, a 2018(?), 2025, 2037, 2034, 736. The Prairies are ok, but the Hudsons I really like. Same with the Berk. A heavy monster that runs silky smooth.

I think you will like the 2055. It's a little smaller than a 2046/56, but they pull well.

Jim,

The only other steamer that I have that is mechanically similar to the 2055 is a 2037.  How does the 2055 compare to the 2037?  Is it a better runner?

Good question, Jim. Hmmmm. I don't know if one is any better than the other. Both of those models run and pull very well for me. I like the Hudson because of its looks.

Chief glad to see that you won something of value, a few months ago at the Kroger market place near my home I signed up for a drawing to win a $450.00 citizen watch and no sooner then I walk in the door there was a message on the phone at home saying I won the watch it is dual powered solar w/battery back up and hands glow in the dark. Now if I could win the Mega Millions then that would be some great news and I could start my train related business can't decide if I want make or sell trains or bothConfused [%-)] but it will probably never happenSigh [sigh]

Jim - it was an OOP Harris publication TPB - Vampirella Crimson Chronicles Vol 1.  These are the old B&W comics from when I was a kid.  I had a few of these comic books, but they are long gone.  They released the first 40 issues in 4 volumes a few years ago.  I have Vol 2, 3 and 4 now.  Just need Vol 1 to complete the collection!

Good evening everyone.  Seems we have a lot of prayers to send out.

Mitch, glad everything went well with your mom.  University is a nice hospital with some good folks.  I used to date a nurse there and know some folks from the Heart team.  Be prepared as she will have to take it easy for the next 6 weeks or so and then, will have to do limited motion, stress, etc. for a while after that.  Also, not uncommon for them to have memory problems for a little while till the body absorbs all the extra fluid.

Marty, how is your wife doing?  Have not heard any updates since she got home that first week.  Hope she is well and that you get some time at home soon.

Been a long crazy day.  Had some big cases and then a production meeting for the new movie that I was late getting to.  Fortunately, the hospital has given the church a house across from the hospital to use as the production office and I was able to run over to the meeting once I finished the last case.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend.

God Bless,

Dennis

PS: Jim A, I think I will have an extra copy of the two videos on the F3s and trainmasters.  If so, I will send you the extras.

Jim, I know this is several days old but it kinda got me to thinkin', OK I know it's a new experience (Laugh [(-D]). I wonder if the RS sound chips for the Phantom Series loco's are available anywhere, those would be cool sounds for a halloween loco, or better yet re-issue a Phantom engine in halloween colors. It is 67 degrees and is going to be hot and sunny in Ohio today.  This is not fall!

I'm off to pick up Wes at the local saloon in North Columbus.  We're heading to the great northern part of the Buckeye state to meet up with the other thousands of OTTS members at the great Berea Train Show.

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy & sticky here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Getting ready to shove off to the mountains in a couple of hours.  Took Mrs. fifedog to her YORK (AKA SPA/BEAUTY SALON) yesterday.  Dropped her off at noon;picked her up at 6...that's right, 6 hours, head to toes.  I hadn't planned on making any major purchases 10/19, but I think I will now...

Morning all.  Getting ready to pack up and head home.  No rush so will take camera just in case I run into some train pictures.  Big set of double tracks right up the street.  Did hear some diesel horns one morning.  Being my luck, they would be that junky CSX short line.  Chat later.

Good morning from a hot and sunny Crystal Lake where I just got back from my men's group and the bride handed me a long to-do list which I guess I have to add to my to-do list. It looks like one of those days. Best way to start it is to visit the Pot. Refill your cup, sir?

Thanks for the fresh cup, Doug

I'm getting reminders from Wisconsin, about my "to do" list.  Can't escape it.  So guess will start out the day plumbing.  Then maybe get some track time later, and hopefully see if I can figure out how to make a video this weekend.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

You folks at the Ohio train show; If you are going to buy me something, I prefer engines in the orange and blue box's. At least until the other get's rid of the start-up battery.

We have a really great summer day, high 80s till Tues. not unheard of but unusual. Guess it will be grass cutting day or I could wait till Mon.   Everyone play nice,  Sir James

Good morning from KC.  Taking a break from morning chores so I can veg watching a lot of college football today.  I am  Missouri Tiger fan, but also follow Wisconsin (where I was born and raised) and Purdue (my son graduated in 2002).  Going to the KC Chiefs game Sunday in a complimentary suite!  Free food, beverages and parking!  Getting to be that time of year for more train activities.  But first I have to get some fishing in.  Going trout fishing next week.  Hope all is well with you.  Prayers here for the health of all.

Laugh [(-D]  Mmmmm - good peanut butter, thanks!

Thanks for editing your post, Grayson.

Yep, Mrs Munster was right next to the Piranha tank!  Actually I had a Frazetta painting of Vampirella that my Mom took down and burned when I left for College!  No kidding!  She hated that poster!  Another good one would have been Carolyn (Mrs. Addams) Jones!  Hubba Hubba!

BTW- Google Ms. DeCarlo with the safeties off and you will get a real treat!  Don B put me on to that one!  I guess this is what he gets up to when the wife is away!
