Morning all.
Chief, glad you made it back. After a little train time and some chance to catch up on your sleep, you may have to go back and read a few pages to defend your honor....just kidding, I think Buckeye and the rest took it easy this time. I guess they figured you had a laptop right with you at BPS and could fire back.
Dewey, hope that your issue can be resolved with that guy. even though you had written the engines off, perhaps this guy is trying to restore his honor, or be able to sleep at night. I did not know him or the situation, but was suprised by the whole post.
Lisa, how are you? How is the job search going? My bride keeps mentioning that she may want to quit all together so she can stay at home and shuttle the kids to school.....which is the excuse she gave for wanting this new job. Oh well, as long as she is happy.
She who must be obeyed went shopping this weekend with my daughter. While my son and I worked on the layout, she shopped for several hours. Upon her return, she said that she looked down at one point and thought about how much she had spent and then remembered THE TRAINS! so she kept shopping. After she had unloaded all the bags, I noticed a new pocket book hanging on the door handle. I asked if it was new....."Yes" was the answer, to which I could only answer "Looks Great Honey"...... I think I will go buy a train.

CHIEF - by chance, were you trying to get in 18 holes in Suffolk, VA yesterday morning...?
Good morning all,
It is cool but supposed to be sunny today with temps in the low 50s in SE Indiana. Doug, as far as the daughter is concerned, been there, done that, twice. Both are now married and out of college with kids of their own. Lucas is still at home with us, but does not spend much time here except when he has his girl friend over. We try to give them some space, but we also try to keep a close eye on them as well. We think very highly of his girl friend and we do not want anything bad to happen to them. PM me if you want about the IM message. I like ATSFjr's "resource". When I was substitute teaching, I always wanted to mount a .50 caliber on the desk and fire off a few warning rounds to get the kids attention. For some reason, the school board frowned on that philosophy, muttering something about liability issues and parents being upset. Some people just don't believe in the value of a good education anymore:-)
This discussion gets better everyday with the talk of furniture values and the drive around the track at Indianapolis. There are a couple of options on the IMS visit. One is to ride in the two seater and the other is to drive a single seat car by yourself. That is tempting, but I know what can happen when something goes wrong, and I am not sure I want to splatter myself against a SAFER barrier.
Once again, "Points East" was up before me evidently, but I got the last two bran muffins on the dining car. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Mornin' boys. Mornin' Lisa. Didn't get much done on my little project yesterday, just figuring out curve radius and such.
Dewey T - I have a spare box of GRIP-RITE FAS'NERS coated sinker 16d 3-1/4". You're welcome to 'em in case you are crucifying anyone else today...
mitchelr - you picked the right time. Teachers in a dozen or so WV counties had a job action last Wednesday over pay.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a foggy, 42 degrees. Going up to 48 today, with some sun. It is very damp outside. The yard is like a wet sponge. Need a lot of sun.
Good Morning, Jim.
Today, I am taking it easy. Maybe, later I will take a walk with the boys. Vet gave Rockie a shot for cough. Every spring and fall, he gets this, when the weather changes. He also needs to lose a few pounds.
I might do some work on layout, later. It's nice, spending a few hours, each day, running trains and making layout better.
Well, Dining car is here. No stops at " points west ", yet. So, I will board, and have breakfast. Talk later.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
Good morning from New England.
A little rainy here today, but I'll take it over snow any day.
Off to Dr. Tinker's today to pick up my 2055. It's been gone for 5 weeks!
4 days until the big train show! Yippee Skippee!!
Lee, I hope you feel better soon! And that's no joke - get well, man!
Have a nice day, everyone.

BRENT - I can't help you but I bet Dewey T can. Try a Google search using "Furniture wholesalers in High Point, NC" - ton of info there.
BUCKEYE - You finally over your St. Paddies celebration? Must still be hungover - asking a Suthner for assistance!! (Actually I think you were only kidding and spent the whole day writing the story for those great pics you posted Sunday!)
Take care!

I used to work in a furniture store for 3 years (Heilig-Meyers before they went belly up) and I can attest that the mark up on furniture is unbelievable often 200 to 300% or more. I know this because when we did inventory we'd see the "cost" prices on every item, as well as the sales prices. The sales people in our store were allowed to negotiate up to 20% off the sticker price themselves. IMO, never, ever pay the sticker price at a retail furniture store; my first question when I find a piece that I'm interested in is simply, "what can we do with this price?" That gets me to my starting point in the haggling after that its the old "I'll have to check with my manager" line, which is where the real price will get worked out. If a furniture retailer won't move much in their prices then tip my hat and walk. BTW, I hate furniture buying because most sales people insist on acting like I don't know what's really going on, and I hate when people insult my intelligence.

From what I hear, they have a 400% mark up by the time furniture makes it to the retailers in local market. I have friends that own a LOT of properties out in Colorado. They come down this way every year and then drive up to Hickory/High Point to buy furniture. It is worth it if you can take the time to go.
I forgot to mention that tonight is the last night of winter !! Now, we can spring into action !! I'm going to start working on my tan tomorrow, shut off the furnace & put the snow shovel away !! It's all over !!
Chief : do you have the popcorn ready yet ? !!
Thanks, John

Doug - he's actually getting a raise out of the deal either way - he's a very competitive and hard working guy! As for your daughter, you have my sympathy. I'm not looking forward to dealing with all those "young men" my daughter will be bringing around in a very few years at all
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening,
Doug & Roy, I got through raising two daughters pretty good, did lose most of my hair though. One of the daughters now has her own teen age daughter. I sent my SIL this little bit that I read somewhere. "A fathers worst nightmare is that his daughter will date someone just like he was at 17." I had a son too, but that was easy.
Bill, What brand are the B&O sharks, I probably missed it in an earlier post.
Brent, I had friends go to NC to buy furniture, don't recall the details, but they had it delivered to PA and still saved a bundle.
Rich, If you are a CNJ fan, check out the GP9s that Bob Thatcher has, I have both numbers and they are sweet runners, will pull anything I put behind them.

Look under "Special Run"
They are a special run so he is the only dealer for them.
Take care,
Brent other B unit came in today heres a pic of the shark nose B&O ABBA
Thats 4'6" of engines shame only the far right one is powered lol

Now stroll with a 40mm auto handgun. Lot of Deer because its a dormant farm and and still a lot of dogs roaming according to a neighboring Farmer.

Dewey, good luck with the dog situation. You may want to hire a trapper. Not much opportunity to shoot them. Just don't do the poison thing, know someone who had to pay a big fine for killing some wild dogs that way.

Kidney stones are no joke .
Brent the furniture question is a good one and don't know the answer. Do know thou some of the furniture places are shutting down and moving over seas (like everything else)
Also did you see my comment about the K-Line B&O Budd set at local Hobby Shop for $150.00 in OB I guess its a no thou as with what all else you have bought lol.
Jaabat I may be joking with you in a day or two again.
Well, firstly Colin my Dad had cancer on (the whole!) kidney, they removed it, then he had cancer on his lung, and took a hand sized protion of it out. It has been almost 7 years, he's off chemo for another 6 months. He is 72 and still teaches scuba with my Mom (she's 70). Atittude will help your grandpop over this. My Grandmom had 3 strokes before it really took a toll on her and she past when she was 87. AND was pretty functional up to the end (she had trouble walking after the 2nd one). Prayers to ya my brother, I know what your going through!
As fer the trains: I finally got my CNJ Beep, I really like it, but it seems slow...but from what I see on the "boards" this is normal. I recieved my CTT box car to day, and it sure is a nice one!!
Found out from the eteranlly wise one (my bride ), that we will be moving, and the 4th bedroom is MINE!! Trains, firefighters hotwheels all in one place!!! Now just have to find the place....!!!!
Weather here has been either in the 70-lo 80's or 40-mid 60's. Wish it would be "normal", however an Easter trip to the home land (New Jersey) should bring this waether thing into perspective. Been 15 years since my last Easter with the fam, my daughter hadn't arrived then. It'll be her first with most of the family. Very excited!!!!
Sorry is been a while, work is crazy (sort of like myself), but have been lurking about.
Prayer and wishes to all who need 'em. Congrats to all the birthdays and happy occasions!
Till later!
Rich

LOL! I bought my 12 ga. late last fall and haven't had a chance to take it out hunting yet, so I haven't stuck a plug in it yet, this allows for more pellet on target when dealing with pests. We get coyotes, possum, and raccoon around here that all need to be "chased off".
