Lisa - One only has to listen the recording of Silent night 9/11 to bring them back to where they were that day.

Morning.  Mom use to tell me about what she was doing when she heard that Pearl Harbor was bombed.  After 9/11, I understand why she could so vividly remember that time.  Off to a meal at noon for the persons in Roseyville that would be in change and/or responds if we had a big emergency.  Lady in the Church/Community does this every year.  Town leaders, Church Leaders, EMS members and Fire Dept members.

Good luck to the OTTS Eastern gang.  Going to one great store in Bridgeport OH.  Everytime I went to Wheeling WV Cabela's, I stopped there.  Great guy that owns that store.

Well, day of not so hard work planned.  Water today [one of those days].  Forecasters say rain on the way.

Have a good day.

Good morning from a sunny and cool Chicago where I find it spookily similar to that morning six years ago. My class begins tonight - so today is a long day. Bought a few old Model Railroaders to read on the voyage home... hope to give one to my conductor friend.

MORNING ALL,

Overcast and maybe 60, going to be a different day than summer I'm sorry to say. My rain gage had about 1/4in. over nite. My day is still open ,guess I'll just go with it. There's just nothing being shipped to the train store that I can get excited about, maybe a lot of stuff will come in all at once.   Regards,   Sir James

Cool wave here.  97 today instead of the 100's like yesterday. Laugh [(-D]  Do say highs in the 70's by weekend and that may be the break to fall temps.  Set records this year.  NC hardly ever see's 100's.  We did lots of days this summer.  Drought being compared to the drought in the 30's.  Crazy weather.

Rich -   Noticed you used the word "murdered"  - you are right on - too many people in this country seem to have forgotten that aspect of 9/11.  Watched a little of the news this am - seems the media are just "prettying" it up showing the memorials - they need to show the footage from 9/11 -

God Bless you and all those who Protect and Defend our great Nation.

Dennis, We have the Lionel collectors club UK, only 70 odd members spread across the UK. As far as I am concerned this forum is OK for my requirements. Any way, I am contemplating a move to Bonny Scotland to join my brother and his family as I have no one near now the dear lady has given me the heave- ho!

Good afternoon from warm and breezy Prattville, AL. It's beginning to cloud up and we've got a good chance of rain this evening.

Just got back from a nice lunch with one of the men's groups in our church. We ate at a locally owned resaurant - I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, pinto beans, turnip greens, fried okra, corn bread and sweet iced tea. What a feast! Dinner [dinner] Sure beats a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

Hope everyone had a good and blessed Tuesday! Smile [:)]

We are back from the Great Toy Train Tour.....

What a great day. Stopped at 5 train stores. Had a great lunch. Went to a Toy and Train Museum. Buckeye spent hundreds on track.

The T & K Train Store in Bridgeport is the best I have ever seen. They have a lot of trains. All brands. Good prices.

Here are some pictures...............

Buckeye with his new caboose........

EVENING ALL

I like the caboose but it looks like it's two rail, have to change the trucks.

Received a check from Allstate today, the adjuster was very prompt,no hassle. I wonder what it will do to my next renewal though. I'll find out in Feb.

The two grandsons my wife has watched for the past six years are in school now and she is trying to adjust being home with me. she still has them after school and of course school days off. I'm just staying out of her way, weve done some shopping but she is restless.

Lisa-n-I sent you an email instead of here because i did not want to start the mess that went on over at that other forum. I have used and sold GG track for over 30 years so I have some experince with it. you will of course get lots of different answers.       Sir James

Evening all.  Day turned into an all day Town day.  Got three new school sites and delivered them to Raleigh and Wake Co Schools.  They had been claiming they could not find any but the one I helped the County Comm's kill at 150% appraised price.  Got to 99 today!!!  They say cooler tomorrow.  We had winds up to 35 mph with the heat.  Thought I had moved to central Texass. Shock [:O]  Off to bed.  Hope to work on the RR tomorrow.  They keep saying rain late Thursday and into Friday.  Later.

Carter not happy after his meal:

RED HAIR???  Some of my Grandpa's genes as my Uncle Frankie and Aunt Cathy have red hair.

Wow !!  Lots of great pictures on this page!!!  Carter looks like he's going to be a real dynamo!

Still playing with the loose track, I'm running all kinds of engines all over the place.  Power connection consists of 2 jumper wires clamped on a siding. Thumbs Up [tup]Approve [^]  If I were to count the screws holding everything down, I think I'm averaging about 1 screw each 10 or 12 pieces of track.  And, I have a set of battery powered Christmas lights (9v), maybe I can light up all the buildings, too. Evil [}:)]

Got company coming in this weekend so no train work.  Going take a quick run to Vegas, then down to San Diego for a day.  So the following weekend I'm going to put up some shelves!  All the space under the layout is full already.  Train stuff kicked out of the rest of the house, and moved to train room, as well as old games, and other stuff.  And then, down came a bunch of John Deere tractors, probably 1/24th scale, I think.  The tractors just don't fit on lay out, they're too big.  So need to put up some shelves and clear out some of the storage stuff, so I can make room to wire underneath the layout.  I will awill, actually end up putting up the shelves, securing and adjusting track, then doing the wiring.

Cant think of anything else owrthy, weather going back up a little,  Tired of cleaning , goin t call it a day.

Chuck and Buckeye:  Looks like you guys had a great time!  Thanks for the photos.

Brent:  Thanks for the wrastling humor.  Now I can't stop thinking about the cast of characters here with their wrastling (screen) names, and the advertisements for the matches.  Maybe I'll start singing 'I have a lovely bunch of coconuts'...Yup, that took it right out of my head.

My father and his wife arrived yesterday!  The oldest is enjoying Grandma and Grandpa, the youngest is still unsure.  She started stranger anxiety.  Grandma came in, touched her toe, and set her off.  He brought trains; an old HO Atherns UP steel tank car with operating metal couplers, and an HO AHM BN diesel along with 3-boxes of other stuff, including a biplane kite with a 40" wingspan, uh...for the 2-YO of course.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cool and sunny 60 degrees. Going up to a nice, sunny 78 degrees.

Today, I am driving up to Cambridge for the weekly grocery shopping. That's a real fun job. Gas is still high at $2.78 a gallon.  Looks like it's going to stay that way.

We had a good Tour yesterday, of the Train Stores. I plan on going back to the one in Bridgeport, as soon as my train funds are back up.

Dining car is here and on time.  Breakfast is served.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 70's here in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Chief - Babies like bright & shiney trains (like CSX YN2, or even the new Coors Light engine), not dull black washing machine looking choo-choos (NS).  C'mon, do it for the lad...

Blueberry - That school building would make a great scratchbuilding project.Thumbs Up [tup]

There was a caboose behind Buckeye...?  I better go back and look again...Evil [}:)]

Good morning all,

It is sunny but cooler in SE Indiana with highs in the low 70s today.  Although the score (4-0) does not indicate it, "my" soccer girls played a much better game last night against a very good team.  A questionable call lead to the only goal in the first half and one goal came after the reserves were playing.  There was a bit of controversy with the coach and the lack of substitutions last night, but sometimes you can only bite your tongue so long.  I am not even a parent of any of the kids so I feel like I have a slightly un-biased view of things.  I did some track time at the YMCA as well.  Work was pretty wild yesterday with all sorts of events occurring.  Today will be interesting as well, or maybe not.  Just the usual fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.  I also just remembered the US Women got off to a rough start in the World Cup, tieing North Korea 2-2.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

rt - That appears to be a CLASS I-5.  B&O built approx. 400 of them at their Washington, Indianna shops in the late 20's.  This example (what I can see of it...) definitely has been lovingly restored.  (Original paint would have been Signal Red w/black handrails)

Morning everyone!

Thanks for the great support.  For me, 9/11 is still a pretty downer of a day, very  emotional.   Didn't do much at work.  Though I don't actively fight fires on a regular basis, I still feel for my brothers in NYC.  Tough day for all.

Off to a better start today, should get to 90 today thunder later.  I may run over to my other store later (and maybe to my LHS to see whats up!!Whistling [:-^])

Buckeye & Chuck.. nice tour! You guys should run a travel agency tour bus.  I might fly up for dat!!!  Nice 'boose dere Buckeye!

Chief, 'ol Carter lookin' good.  Grow up way too fast though..maybe get 'em a nice FEC set to keep him entertained (hey, at least is ain't CSX..no offence there John!).

Thanks again gang.  Now I know the coffee is great here!

Mornin' Fellas!

Just read the posts again and it seems I didn't post here yesterday... Whistling [:-^]Confused [%-)]

Must have been all the fun and excitement on the PSU boards... Smile [:)]  This morning they are kicking around a Rutgers fan... Laugh [(-D]

---

Looks like the Ohioan Boys had some fun yesterday... Buckeye bought a bunch of track?  I thought he had all he needed for this expansion - does this mean there is more expansion coming?

Chief - Carter looks like he's going to need some trains for Christmas - I agree with Fife, they need to be shiny and colorful... CSX, UP, along those lines... Whistling [:-^]

JimA - Where are you?  Are we still getting together in a couple weeks?  Susan got us a Chevy Malibu to work over!

Rich - Friends of mine back in Pittsburgh are Volunteer Firemen.  9-11 is a most somber day for them as they met some of the FDNY boys at the National Convention in Baltimore many years ago.
