Jon,
How embarrassing! I was up there last year on a mission trip building a church sanctuary. We flew in to Minneapolis and drove on to Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Guess I missed the "Now Entering Minnesota" sign when we went sight-seeing.
Let me see if I have this straight. The Northern Churches go on mission trips to the South where it is warm and sunny and the Southern Churches head to the North where it is cold, windy, rainy, snowy and generally miserably. I did not even mention the black flies and mosquitoes that are found in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I think that makes us pretty even after the fiasco in Harrisburg.
BTW, Dr. John, I heard that a church in International Falls, Minnesota would like you to visit them next January. Of course, for real mission work, Hell, Michigan could sure use your help.

Morning all!
Beautiful day here - sunny and headed to 75.
Been busy here. Not much to report.
I have figured out the reason teenagers are so difficult to deal with is so it is easier to kick them out of the nest when the time comes.
Have a great day all!

Good morning from a sleety and miserable Chicago where I just go in the office after a 3 hour train ride - not a bad thing in itself - but jammed with a zillion commuters after a hour and a half wait for ComEd to remove downed power lines across the track. And the worst of it is for someone as frugal as myself - they all got a free ride and I got my ticket punched because I got on at an early station - rats!
Never been to Byron except I know they have a big nuke plant there - maybe their turkey bits glow in the dark. Did you see this look at Legacy II? http://normstrains.blogspot.com/2007/04/evening-with-lionels-legacy-system.htmlCan't wait to get my trolley!

Good morning everyone,
We finally have some sunshine today. It's still cold but at least it isn't snowing. It's been a wierd spring. The ice was off the lake before the end of March and then this past few days has been like we're back in winter. The forecast calls for gradual warming but not real quick. I am hoping to get the snow tires off the car on Friday. If the long range forecast looks good I think I will get that done.
I was in Buffalo the other day and decided to visit a couple of the local train shops. Both are Lionel dealers. My favorite one surprised me. I have never seen them so low on stock. The shelves were almost empty of all train cars. I thought something was funny because he has had a hard time getting the preorder stuff in over the last few months. I hope it isn't a sign of a store going out of business soon. Then I stopped at a larger hobby store that sells all gauges of trains. They were the unfriendliest folks to deal with. I asked a couple questions and it was like I was putting them out by asking. Even my wife commented as we left the store about their poor attitude. They might have a lot of stock but their attitude and prices will keep me from visiting often, if at all.
Another quiet day at school today. Kids are off all week and only the office staff is around. I think I will take a couple days off the rest of the week.
Have a good day all, TomS
Hey Chief, have I got a deal for you! Post war Marx, baby!

Well, yeah... but first I'm going to have a priest exorcise it. If the holy water turns to steam when it hits the loco's shell, that's a very bad sign!
So far no pea soup!

Good morning all,
It is rainy and mild in SE Indiana with temps in the 50s today. Mike, I caught that!!!!! Thems fight'n words pardner! Actually, the Southern division was just putting up a little resistance to keep them yanks at bay.
Kieth, SHHHHHHHHHHH.........don't let anyone know that was me! I enjoy the grits, but at least I don't have to drive all the way over to Warwick to get them. Unlike the yanks who have to wait for a confederate invasion before they can get theirs.
Mornin' boys. Sunny and cool here in the Mid-Atlantic for now...wet weather's a-comin'.
Buckeye - I checked out that photo album. Thanks.
jaabat - Booga booga...
Blueberry - Noooo, it's an EXXON thing (simply trying to surpass last year's earnings).
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a chilly 38 degrees. Cloudy. Going up to 54 today, with rain predicted. This weather is sure changing from day to day.
Yesterday, I got all of the grass mowed. Thank goodness. It was a cool day, but the sun was out all day.
Today is the ever popular shopping day. Have to drive into Cambridge and face the prices. Gas is almost at $3.00 a gallon. Must be an Iran thing. They use some crazy excuses to raise the prices.
Later today, I would like to relax in the train room and run some trains. I need to work out the town setup and put the lights in. I need to get my mind working again.
Dining Car has arrived. Wonder if " points west " has had breakfast yet ? OK, time for food.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
Got my Marx 666 last night. I set up a test track with one of our CW-80s. The transformer wouldn't work...then I ran it on our layout. The Williams 2023 set on the other track started making odd noises through the sound system. I need to annoint this train with some holy water, and maybe have a priest bless it! Does anyone want a smooth running Marx 666 in E+ condition for cheap $$$?
Morning to all. Still pretty chilly here this AM. Supposed to get rain today, tomorrow, and possibly Saturday and Sunday. The Mrs. has a honey do list about a mile long for outside projects and I had hoped to get them done this weekend. Oh well, I have no control over the weather.
Finished cleaning up a tinplate car that was a slopped up paint over of a common Baby Ruth boxcar. The 'ole bucket of Simple Green did its magic again. When the weather warms up, I've got a few cars that I have stripped that I will paint and bake. I need to pick up replacement latch couplers for all of them when I am at York.
Take care,
Mitch
