Chief your neighbor needs to make a trip to northern OHIO to pick up some muck(realy dark fertile soil) in celareyville/willard Ohio home to Berhmas farms andsome company that grows sod.
If you ever go hunting in the willard marshes do not step in any puddels as you will sink in the muck.
Brent, we have the best of both worlds with regard to water, we have a well that can supply the house and the irrigation systems. Then we have county water that also feeds the house. As for the other, we have septic. The septic system really came in handy as those on county sewers were just assessed $70/month extra for sewer upgrades. And you know how those taxes are, once you get 'em, hard to get rid of 'em.
For those on the left coast, I have been trying to get a reason to get out there, besides meeting y'all and seeing the layouts out that way.....now we have one. Some friends of ours are moving to a town a little south of San Fran. Perhaps over the next year we can make it out there.

Good afternoon from a misty and humid Chicago where we continue to enjoy North Carolina's weather. I just came back from a day-long Microsoft seminar. One vendor demo after another... well, there was a nice lunch - and they're going to the Cubs game tonight which I simply couldn't abide even if it was free. Jim F, it's pretty dry in Chicago - just a sprinkle or two. That smoking ban (in public places) kind of supercedes all sorts of municipal bans - there's all sorts of caveats though to keep various people happy. Anybody coming to town this summer?Brent, that's a heckuva garbage can. And $70 too - wow! We can't have 'em that big, and pay about $25 / month - though every week, we can throw out one 'big thing' for free ---
Chuck, I love that reference to a 'self-propelled' garbage can - immediately, I thought that sounds like my 1996 Hyundai Accent!
Don, I was thinking of Train Town in the Griffth Park fires. Glad its OK. A great memory of a trip to LA years ago was going up to the observatory.

Neighbor has new garden!!!!!!! Yes, disked, bottomplowed and redisked. 2 1/2 hours of my time [hooking up, unhooking, rehooking, cleaning and hooking up again]. Was hard as a rock as lots of clay from old septic drainfield [abandoned] and limited tilled soybeans for 10 years. It came up in big chunks. Final disking resulted in some brickbats [Yanks will not know that word].
Atlas is the best. Shipped engine off last Wednesday [older one], received Friday and it came UPS today fixed free. Never had a company treat me that well [including Williams]. Already tested and works great. Hats off to Atlas [worth the extra $$$$].
Brent, our contractor for Town garbage furnishes. Those out of town that contract receive theirs' with contract. They all have trucks that lift them and dump them so round ones without the metal bar or not solid enough to be grabbed by forks can not be used.
Now lunch [forgot to eat].
Later.

Brent, that is the size we have and the trash company delivered it for free! We are charged garbage fees in our water utility bill, comes to about $16/month. Dennis
Brent - a couple of years ago our city passed an ordance that required the use of that type of trash can. At first I was not too crazy about them, but now I really like them. They easily hold over 300 pounds of garbage, yet are easy to move.Jim
Brent the trash company down here supplies cans like that for its customers you should have told me I would have got you one slightly use for say $25.00 RT
Brent......You need a 110 gallon, self propelled trash can.Chuck----------------------------------------------------------
Dennis,We have well and septic, so no water/sewer bill and thus we don't have garbage collection (we have to pay that seperate). Wife is calling them today to see if they will accept the large trash can... guess I should have checked that first! LOL!
Jim,This is what they used back in Pittsburgh with a lot of the newer communities, I always liked them because of the large wheels and 1/2 inch stainless steel axle, which makes it VERY sturdy, and steady. Those cheaper rolling cans with small wheels tip way too easy! I've found myself picking up trash on a number of occasions!
Bill,WELL NOW YOU TELL ME! Seriously, this was an impulse buy. I was looking at the different trash cans and the more I inspected them the more I realized how much nicer this one was to all the others!
Chuck,LOL! Goin' further down the redneck line here... if I have trouble moving this thing fully loaded, then I'll rig something up to tow it behind the tractor! YEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWWW!
WOW, we really do talk about a WIDE variety of subjects on here! LOL!

Don, I do remember the casket stories. Didn't a "Quncy" episode deal with a similar scenario? Must have been something to see! Best of luck with the fires. I hope they are extinguished soon.

Jim, while we could use some rain, I am not saying anything as in both 94 and 98, this area got hit by the 500year floods, did a lot of damage. Y'all may remember the stories about caskets floating around the city. Was a bad scene. Of course this occured before my arrival, I was up river about 90 miles and didn't have any problems.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Keith, lol! The shake and bake joke was one of your best ones ever!!
Don, ever hear the expression Godsmack? Tempting fate to say the least! Watch out for falling pianos!!
Brent,
I have never seen a garbage can as big as that. Hope you don't have a steep driveway. If you fill the can full, whatever is at the bottom of the driveway, or across the street could possibly be destroyed if the can gets away from you.
Morning. Slept till 9 AM. Rain but only very light and then sun and wind, repeats itself. Need some of the rain Jim F is getting.
Now for our Yankee "wet back" hauling his "can" on top of his car. Just like the illegals we see around here. [notice, I said illegals, have no problem with legals].
Need to get my work done on "smoking" the MTH dummy.
Neighbor wants me to take tractor and break up some garden. He does not realize I have to wike down bottom plow with gas to get grease off, then plow, wash it down, re-grease it for next year [to prevent rusting]. Not an easy quick thing.
Got to go for now. Have a great day.
That is one nice looking bin. I would think security would be a concern, does it come with an optional Lojack system? Or are you going to paint an address on it? My concern would be lifting it after it is full. I don't think they offer them here, it would be confused as a parked car and probably get a ticket.
Worked on lighting cars last night, had mild sucess. Rerouting the wires so they are less visible, one car has intermittent lighting, and turns out it is actually due to the socket NOT the pickup. Unusual.
I'm sure our local fires are hitting the news, seems a bit unusual, they are hitting the parks. Monday was Featherly Park, which we have done a lot of camping at. Then yesterday and this morning Griffith Park, right in the heart of LA. So far the observatory, Train Town (live steamers) have been spared. Concern is regarding the Zoo and some homes. The weather isn't helping been over 90 the past 3 days, and with our total rainfall of 3.2 inches this year has left everything as dry as a matchbox.
Hope everyone has a great day! Keep up the good study habits John (cxt30)
