Brent, this new software is the pits. If it wasn't such a great site with the folks (most of them), I wouldn't bother. Besides, since the stars are gone, posts don't matter.

Again rain all over the place but not here 40 miles away1.5in. 5 miles away its pouring now. Didn't get to trains today, instead went to the grocery store and after looking at beef prices I cried all the way home. I know feed prices have gone up but like gas my buying is going down.So nobody wins. REGARDS, Sir James

sir james 1,
You should try living down here in south Florida if you think that prices are high up north!! Home owners insurance keeps going up 35% recent request, property taxes keep going up, gasoline keeps jumping around; anywhere from $2.99 to $3.25 a gallon for regular unleaded, add 44 cents a gallon to that for premium. Hourly wages start at $7.50 an hour, you would think with all the extra costs employers would give you more an hour, sometimes all you get is just the hourly wage-NO Benefits-not even paid sick days!!!! How yucky can a state get!!! I guess it is NO wonder that Florida leads the nation in corruption!!

Evening everyone,
Stopped at Cool Trains and picked up the Lionel Burro Crane that I had preordered. It's PRR and looks nice, didn't try to run it yet as I have to clear a loop since it is conventional. Thinking of puting electronics in a work caboose to run it with TMCC, only problems is it has a pullmor motor which requires a bigger board.
Also picked up 4 Weaver fishbelly 40' flats. Nice, now I have to make up some more loads.
Take care,
Lee,
I would love Florida in Jan.&FEb. I've lived my life where it snows and boy am I tired of it, but Fla. not for me.some place with a short winter would be nice but my kids and grandsons are here and I would not move away.Except for jan/feb and I would take my time coming back.Lowest gas price I saw today reg $3.15.
Sir James I: Sorry I'm going to have to back out of the NMRA Convention at COBO. I just received e-mail that Saturday is Go Diego/Fischer Price day at the Toledo Zoo. I'll be busy. My daughter is crazy about Dora, and Diego.
Good thing I didn't register.
Is anyone a member of NMRA?
Kurt,
I was working out the details of our meet with my friend. Maybe Gratiot Valley meet, first Sun. in nov. in Warren. Toledo has a very good zoo. enjoy.
Sir James
Evening All
Hope all is well.
Buckeye-I didn't know you were in the movies
I bet Cheif was too as some point.
Had Grand kids this evening, no trains, just lots of playing around. Daughter's car broke down again, so lending them my Civic They think of cars as rolling trashcans, and I admit I am OCD when it comes to my cars!
Any ideas of things to see in Huston Tx? My wife and I are going down in the middle of August, should be nice and warm.
G'nite all
Jim
Sir James I: That Sounds good. We have an OK meet in Ann Arbor just before Thanksgiving, right after the Lansing meet. Last year one of the venders spent too much in Lansing, and marked 30-new lionel cars at 1/2 price. I picked up a Christmas Present Dump Car MIB for $40.
Keep me posted.

Hi everyone,Well, I'm very happy to say I just finished a summer class today. I got back from taking a 3 hour final exam tonight (Summer feels great!). Now I can get back to work on the train room. I'm going to try to get to sleep early (heh, its 1am already). I want to get up before the heat. When you guys aren't talking trains, your talking about fishing. I haven't gone since I was around 5 or so. Even then, I used cheap fishing rods from K-mart. My friend recently invited me fishing on the Deleware river this August. I was curious if you could point me to a website that could help me buy good gear. I don't know where to start. Hopefully your responses won't get lost in the pot. Maybe send me a PM. Thanks

Even walmart will have good brands of tackle and rods. Not sure if the Delaware is salt or fresh, but if its fresh, you have come to the right person. I do salt fish in the marsh off the coast of Georgia, catching spot tail and flounder, but im a river and pond fisher. The property I live on in Georgia has 700 acres of unspoiled hunting land and 7 ponds. They have catfish, Georgia giants (they're a hybrid thats similar to crappie and bluegill) red breasts, and largemouths, as well as one having plenty of crappie. I buy most of my stuff from local bait people and sometimes the ol' bass pro shop in Savannah. I also fish the Canoochee river, a small freshwater river. But the Deleware, hmm, I dont know how to fish there.

Congrats on being off for the summer; I know the feeling. A mandatory retreat end of the month and classes in Sept. How do you think you did on the finals?
As far as fishing see if your friend who invited you has some extra tackle and would be willing to share. Just offer to relace what gets lost.
RT hows the job hunting going?
All take care
Morning to all. Just brewed a fresh pot. Been pretty busy with the new school. Not much train news, it's either been too hot in the garage or I've been too tired. We had dinner with some friends last night. I realized talking with them that I met him a few weeks after their daughter was born. Of course, she was 31 on her last birthday and has two little girls of her own. Time flies when you are having fun.
Jonadel - good to hear from you. You'd have loved G'burg last week. Big Bike Week, 25,000 motorcycles were in town. Loud, loud, loud.
Doug Murphy - glad your eye is on the mend.
88- Cool photo, either a good photoshop job or a family with a sense of humor.
Wish we could catch some rain. It was all around us here yesterday but we got nothing save for a few drops. Been watering the tomatoes.
You all have a great day.

RT: Glad to hear you found a house. Good luck with the job hunt.
Grayson: Good morning!
Jim (SF): I found Bass pro shops web site very easy to use, and much more informative than Cabellas. For fishing.
My wonderful wife was feeling pretty bad the other evening (gall stone thing). I finally made her call the Surgeon in the morning, I put in a call to her Doctor a few hours later.
Had blood work done the next day. Doctor called 7:00pm the next evening (after hours) glad we found a great doctor. She said, next time this happens she needs to get to the ER.
Surgery moved up twice in the last few days to mid-august.
Prayers for her please.
Thank you,
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 62 degrees. Going up to 80, today, with thunderstorms coming.
Up early today. Big storm hit and thunder was loud. Calm now, but more on the way. Looks like a day inside. Good time to run trains and have some fun. Need to get a few things together for the layout. I have to make some new signs for the Dairy. Spelling was off that day.
Gas prices have stayed high. People around here are cutting back on all activities. That's a shame in the summer.
Kurt.....Prayers out for your wife. Hope it isn't too serious.
Dining car has just arrived. Sleepy waitress is drinking coffee. Breakfast is coming shortly. Time for a smile.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Chuck
Good morning all,
It is cloudy and rainy in SE Indiana but still very warm and humid with temps in the 80s. We had a soccer contest last night as calling it a game would not be appropriate. We had ten players to start and they had eight and it looked to be a long evening as it was very humid. One of their players evidently had a bad day as he was taking it out on the referee. The ref tried to get him to shut up with a yellow card and when the player kept complaining, the ref ejected him. We wound winning 11-2 and just about everybody on our team scored, including myself. It was a good practice for us, and we managed to clinch second in the standings. The other team in contention for the title played after us and they had to win to beat us. We ate at Fazzoli's again. Next week is the tourney.
Kpolak, I hope your wife gets her surgery soon. Prayers are going out to all who need them. We had just the usual fare on the dining car for breakfast this morning before sending it to "Points East". I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
HI GIZ,
65 and little mug here today going to get thunderstorms this afternoon. Yea, probably when I go to GOLF against BRO. Doesn't rain all week but watch at 4-6 it will. Did a short 3 miler this morn felt good.
Yesterday afternoon helped friend start his layout. We laid track down on his new addition. He will have three tracks, one tubular 0-54 in 0-27 scheme, American Flyer, and Real Trax by MTH. Layout size is a 9x 13. Not to big but good enough for him. To start bench work next week. Take him to school and rip all wood to 1x3s the screw all together. He's STOKED. Going to LHS tomorrow to pick up more track.
KURT, prayers for your wife.
JELECTRIC, is that Burro Crane as noisey as the older ones? I have thre 2 PRR and a Santa Fe.
All have a good one and oh yea, HAPPY FRIDAY EVE!

Good morning, all!
It's been a while since I've posted here. We've had a rather busy and eventful summer. I've scanned the threads and noticed that it's been an "eventful" summer for a lot of folks. Hope those with physical ailments are doing better.
Not doing much of anything with trains these days. I did get the new CTT and read it - very good issue.
Chief, I look forward to seeing you next month when you come to Prattville. Buckeye, if you plan on travelling near here, let me know.
Hope eveyone is hoving a good day!
