Wake Co, NC and the Triangle are both on the upper level of the best places to live.  Roseyville is the fastest growing town in Wake Co [which is the 6th fastest growing County in the USA].  Must be something good here.  Think it is me. Laugh [(-D]

I have nothing but Praise for the all powerful OZ, I mean CHIEF!  He is the backbone of BPS, Rosyville, and dare I say it, THESE GREAT UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!  All Hail the CHIEFBow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Whistling [:-^]

This is a paid endorsement of Chief for Mayor.  All statements are the sole ownership of Chief for Mayor and any duplication there of for less than honorable means would be a violation of the USGA (United States Grits Association)  The owners of this forum are not responsible for any statements made on behalf of Chief for Mayor or the USGA.  Any likeness to the Chief, or any other carpet runners is purely coincidence and should in no way reflect the desires of any of these affected parties to actually get the trains off the floor.  Any likeness of the Chief with any CSX branchline railroad are forgeries, and should be reported to the proper authorities as soon as possible.  Any likeness of the "other candidate" for mayor and Norfolk Southern Railroad equipment is purely a cheap promotional attempt by a person of low moral authority trying to act better than the CHIEF.

If I recall correctly, a few months ago Paul Harvey quoted from a list of the most desirable areas to live and Oconee Cty., GA was #3.  Watkinsville is the county seat for Oconee Cty. and I live in the county about 5 mi. from town.  Also Memory Station, probably largest Lionel dealer in the SE, is in Watkinsveille.  That alone makes it the best place to live.

Want to hear something crazy? I went to Wallmart about an hour ago. I got some air in a can to clean the inside of my computer, and brown spray paint. (I'm going to paint some black O-27 Marx track ties to match my Lionel track ties). Anyways, as the air in a can was scanned the cashier asked me for ID. Apparently, you need to be atleast 18 years old to buy air in a can! She said also for the spray paint which I guess I could understand. But air in a can?! I joked about it with my sister the whole way back. I guess kids figured out a new way to get high. But this can says "contains a bittering agent to help discourage inhalant abuse" so I doubt they'd misuse this one. Got to run now, have a night class. 2nd to last class and then I can get to work on my layout :)

Federell Givverment control.  What the WAR was all about [Individual and States' rights].  OSHA was going to limit the number of rounds of amo in a store [they claimed due to fire safety and etc] and were going to try to do the same for individuals.  NRA and others [along with certain Senators] got on their case.  They have stopped and are going to review the regs again.

SoapBox [soapbox]

Hey, anyone gotten their new CTT?  Have not been to the box yet.  Been painting soundboard.  Raining now.  Hope it does for hours.  OOPS, spoke too soon.  Back to sprinkles and lots of thunder.  Miss Edna had hers [store copy] Sat., when I was there.  Got to glance over Jerry's shoulder [he hogged].  Told him to buy if he was going to read.  Everyone laughed at that.

Got to get a shower as all the sweet ice tea had run out of me.  Wet again.  Town Board meeting tonight.

Later.

Just got a call from some joker asking for money for the local Sheriff's department.  I finally asked him how much the Sherriff's department sees.

17.8%.  They keep over 80% of all contributions

I asked if he felt bad taking that much money from the sheriff, and if he does the same thing to his kids at Christmas and Birthdays.  "Merry Christmas Tommy, here's a $100"..."This looks like a $20 dad"..."Ya, I'm keeping $80 for ...uh overhead."

Good afternoon from a hot and muggy Chicago where I have been granted special dispensation from the retina surgeon to post on the forum today before teaching my class tonight - I came in just to teach it since I had missed a few sessions already.

Since there are 17 pages I'll have to catch up on next week, let me just say I sure appreciate your good wishes and prayers for my eye. Bow [bow]It sure is tough just to watch daytime TV (without cable channels) for six days: no reading or computer. I get to teach tonight, then work 'lightly' for the next few days, have a bit more surgery on Fri and then back to work hopefully on Monday. Thanks again. My trolleys are growing dusty.

Good to hear from you Doug, sounds like your recovery is coming along fine, although not fast enough for you I am sure.

Sad to hear about the Pennsy K4.  Steamtown when I was there last was repairing a Reading Company T1.

Working on my train room, scraping a couple of walls to repaint.  Also working on a track near the ceiling level, just started it.  Put in a siding for my Reading Company interurbans with dwarf signals from DZ Industries.

Also trying to stay dry and cool if possible down here in south Florida, no really bad weather to report.

One last thing is Jaabat on vacation?  He hasn't rattled my cage in about two weeks.

Doug, glad your recovery is going well.  Hope everything is well up there.  Make sure you take care of your eyes, keep them protected!  Had a radiologist that I hunt with that got some dirt in his eye after he had had surgery.  It ended up getting infected and he still has trouble.  I would suggest get some safety glasses for any work you do.

ANOTHER  RECIPE FOR

BBQ Sauce

1/2 c. vinegar;      1 cup water;       4 tablespoons sugar;   2 tablespoons prepared mustard;    1 teaspoon black pepper;   1 tablespoon salt; 1 stick margarine

Mix all ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.  Remove from heat and add

4 tablespoons worchestershire sauce;   1 cup ketchup

This keeps well in the refrigerator.  Add cocoa powder, ground cayenne pepper, Tobasco or what ever else you are so inclined.  Laugh [(-D]

GRAYSON - We are now officially moving GRITS discussion to your thread and starting a southern recipes cookbook here.  How 'bout that!  Wink [;)]

CHIEF - Had 1 1/2" of rain here yesterday and 1/2" today.  Maybe saved our garden - HOWEVER yesterday's storm blew all the sweet corn over Banged Head [banghead]

DENNIS - Thanks for the campaign help!

SIR JAMES - Understand your frustration over the tomatoes - we are finally getting some too!

DOUG - Glad to "see" you back - you were missed!

Anyway, make sure we have a reicpe for sweet tea, fried chicken, and cornbread, ok? The grits thing was a joke anyway, I love grits, espicially for breakfast, along with bacon or sausage! Doug Murphy!  Glad to read you are doing better and get the weather report.  Daytime tv is bad even with cable channels.  You need a TIVO!  Hope your wife and kids spoiled you rotten!  Get those trolleys running, man!

Got to see a loooong train of tank cars at the downtown St. Louis yard across from our building - plus some bright orange boxcars (hmmm?) and, oh yeah, BNSF, Amtrak and CSX locos/trains.

For porksteaks, I like to cut slices in the steak and stuff with garlic, coat in olive oil, and marinate overnight in Coca Cola - very tender and juicy!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Can't figure out how to post a pic from google map, but here's a link to the train yard in front of our building.  You can zoom in and see some rail traffic, but often there is a lot more out there.  I've seen some really long coal trains, too.

EVENING ALL,

Sorry if I overdid the tomato thing, actually they are not that late it's just the waiting.I had an uneventful day watched the big glob of rain coming across the state on the weather ch. only to see it fall apart before it got here.again some did, we did not.I'm thinking about using a Williams power upgrade for a dummy texas special but can't make up my mind,If I do I would want a horn also. Haven't decided yet.

Doug, hope your doing better. My wife and I are being watched for that same problem, but so far we are still OK.

Well Chief it's going to be warm here tomorrow think I might BBQ something on the grill. any suggestions. Remember this is a family show.
