Jim - I have often thought about building a duplicate of a dealer layout.  I love the disappearing train that was featured in CTT a while back

Evening Folks,

Speaking of trains, does anyone have any experience with the MTH  Die-Cast Test Cars.  I have been looking at them and wondered if anyone had one?

Good day today. Did a few honey-dos.  Wound up that I did not have to replace a frost-proof outdoor faucet. Hooray!  Saved me from moving a whole pile of my son's stuff from college that is stored in the garage and also saved me from soldering copper pipe which is not a favorite task?

Take care,

Mitch

Who???  Grayson, great move on your part.  Dennis just did not catch your intent.

Got another ZW.  Put new roller on one arm and new cord in.  Works great.  Lets see, 3 good ZW's and 3 good KW's.  Humm, think I have enough power?  Yes, if you know my history, I had 3 ZW's.  One does fine until it heats up [about 5 to 10 minutes] and then drops to 7 volts [with handle on 18V].  Anyone expert enough to fix???  Maybe Bob Nelson.  Not me. Got this one at a good price.  Seems a little "HOT" at 22 Volts full throttle.  Checked the performance and 18V is at the 16V setting.  I mark my 18V with a dot of white paint.  Helps the old eyes in the darken area under the edge of the layout.

Later.

PS: forgot, John B, soccer is a European sport.  The Yankees have tried to adopt it.  Now they are moving to the Great South and trying to get us Southerners involved.  Baseball, apple pie [I prefer Cherry] and ice cream are AMERICAN. Wink [;)]

Dennis

Dennis, I get these all the time at the local lumber yard which is also an Ace hardware.  They have them up to 1-1/4" in #4.  Flat and round head  I used them for my  Realtrax on I/O carpet and many other things.  Check the yellow pages or ask a contractor where he buys stuff.  You will probably get a box of 100 for what the big box charges for a dozen in a blister pack.

If you had read the post after that you would have heard me say that we need to forget about Zeke. I said that to act as if I dont know him.

Chief,

Thanks for the update on Elliott.

Has anyone looked at ZWs on ebay today?  The ZW that belonged to "Charles" is listed for $175.  I am glad I bought one yesterday.  Hope everyone has a good night.

Actually what you have found makes his antics even worse. If he was an adult and did this you could chalk it up to him being a crook, but if his mother is selling the "donated" items given under false pretenses then we realize he is just a "crook in training".

Where is parental control and responsibility ????????

AHHHH - run, I think "RINGMASTER" Buckeye is gonna post pics of his piercings!!!

Shock [:O]Wink [;)]

Worked OT this morning and stopped in Town and Country on the way home to pick up my 022 switches I bought through TCA exchange.  Harry, the seller, is a very nice guy and cut me a deal for 2 Marx bridges as well.  He has a bunch of track I want, so working on that - maybe in a couple weeks.  He took down his layout and is going to build a copy of an old dealer layout using Super O track.  Got to see some Super O track and a switch, pretty nice!

Daughter is going to a sleep over.  I think we're going shopping in a little while.  Need to get to work on the basement tomorrow and also clear out some room for my next "temporary" layout - this one has been up for about 2 years now.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Glad to hear about Doug!  Get Better soon!  Maybe his lovely Bride will read his e-mail to him???

Chuck: Glad to hear that young waitress is back at the dining car.  Better give her a day or so before you go chasing her around the train...then again now might be you're only chance to catch her...

Roasted the computer yesterday.  On the 2-yo's lap top now.  Downloaded a trojan horse, a really nasty one, said it needed to update ActiveX controls.  It was some sort of anti-virus deal.  It really embedded itself, and the Macafee didn't catch it.  I deleted too much, and the computer can't find the network connection.  Wonderful Wife is trying to fix.  We (she) might have to re-format.  Next time this happens I know to use HP & Windows restore.

We got appointment for my Wife to consult a surgeon about the gall stones...Early November.???What???

Sorry about no F-1 in the states...I really was getting into that a few years back with Mr. Schumacher and the Ferrari team dominating.  I still like watching the F-1 more than the IRL or CART or whatever the Indy race has.  What made Juan Pablo go into Nascar????

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s and low humidity.  I posted too long last night about the Speedway that I did not have space about "normal" things.  I mowed the yard last night and the "new" John Deere broke.....again.  The self-propelled part of it quit on me about halfway thru the mowing.  I got out the older mower and finished the yard.  Fortunately the warranty expires next Wednesday so I took it to the dealer this morning.  I am going to my dad' s tonight to watch the USA vs. Norway in soccer and then the IRL race.  Manning and Sarah are in the back row so they can only improve.  Danica starts seventh.

I am glad to see the dining car at "Points East" is no longer self-serve.  I sent some cinnamon rolls again.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

I apologize gentlemen but I just can't let the above statement stand alone. In case anyone has any illusions about his character,  below is a threat he made to me over on the MTJ forum. He deleted it but not before I had  copied and pasted it in another thread for all to see.

It has been a long day my youngest daughter had soccer today. They took second place today in a 3 vs 3 event. My oldest is due back from the beach today I will be glad to see her back home.

Well I'm a TCA member as of today. Now I am going to have to make it to York.

I don't have much planned for today but I may just work on the layout. I wish you all a great day.

Well, today is track lighting day. One area of the layout is on the back side of the basement and is pretty low light. I bought 24 feet of track lighting and this should help. I plan also to extend an alley way siding that will allow me to couple up box cars with more ease.

Kansas City is hot and it will be good to take a dip in the pool after we grill some Hormel peppercorn pork tenderloin.
