I am now running the new Weaver 2-8-0 (Lackawanna) pulling a mixed freight. This is actually a break in run. I run it forward for a while then reverse it and run it that way for a while. It has actually improved in operation in the 1/2 hour of operation so far. It was a little jerky at first.

try maybe looking up molex connectors. Might find some specialized connectors from Digikey electronics.

My DC transformers for my G Scale Outdoor Layout are connected to the track using a connection that Radio Shack sells.  It is called RC 9.6V Battery Pack Connector Repair Kit.  You could use three of these and get the six pins.  I use two of them, one for each transformer.   BTW, I have these connections outdoors for four years, summer and winter.  They have worked at very low temperatures.

BTW, I use a Rubber Maid Clear Plastic Container with a snap on top to store outside the transformers.  A small notch is cut at the top lip of the container for wires to enter and exit the box.  Neeless to say, no water gets to the transformer.  No snow, either!!!  http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w79/pfoh/?action=view&current=Snowtrain2007_0001.flv  I know you are extremely worried about snow destroying your layout. Afternoon all!

John (CSXT) - looks like 20's dry spell is over!

Lisa and Dewey - good to see you guys checking in. Hope things continue to improve!

John - Last year when we taught the boys (scout campout) to shoot trap - Jonathon litterally blew them away! He and one other boy were the only ones to qualify. It was a fun trip.

Hope everyone is having a great Sun afternoon!

Hi Chief[mayor-elect], Lisa and all!.

I am online at dtrogdon@charter.net in Banner Elk. Have been to and thru many medical and dental events recently but I am okay. Aggravating [and expensive] but not high risk. Had some long sessions for skin cancer removal. Dental bone grafts on my upper jawbone have been the toughest.

I am trying to keep myself up and going in order to shuttle my wife back and forth to Wake Forest Medical Center at Baptist Hospital. She has a tumor[benign but growing] on her acoustic nerve at the base of her brain and the surgeons are still debating radiation treatment versus cranial entry. She has opted for surgery because of the risk to optic and facial nerves from radiation but a final decision and treatment is probably still a few months away. She has lost hearing in one ear but her balance and golf game are still okay.

I finally got my 13 x28, twin shelf, 5-track railroad [circa 1992], removed from the walls of Barbara's 18' high kitchen/breakfast room here in the mountains. She has already had the room redecorated including removing all of my train pictures hanging up above the 9' high, 3-track shelf. I have moved most of the trains to Greensboro but still have about 270' of wood tie, Gargraves flex track [most all 37" sections] out on the deck. The wood ties are beyond bone dry and it won't flex very easily. An o-gauger about 30 miles from here in East Tennessee picked up about 50' and has already applied the standard treatment to the tie/rail joints with WD-40 and got it flexing again.

Wife's golfing friends will soon decend for homemade strawberry ice cream from my White Mountain freezer---gotta get to work. Made peach and banana on the Fourth for the grand kids and family. [good food for dental bone graft rehabSmile [:)]]

Later,

Dewey Trogdon

RT - I am so jealous - that is a beautiful part of the country.  You are going to be just north of the Great Smoky Mts National Park.  Cades Cove is in the SW corner of the park.  They just put elk in that area a couple yrs ago.  They are still small but there are a lot of them.

If you Google Cades Cove, TN, there is a lot of info.  I am about 5 hrs drive from Gatlinburg, 3 from Asheville and 4 from Cherokee.  You will have to plan a trip to Bryson City, just south of the Park.  Tell you more about it another time after you get settled.

Welcome to the SOUTH!!

I definitely have to go to the show in November.  I haven't been to one since Nov. 2004, and I need to start going again.  Even, if I don't buy anything big, It is still fun just to be there.  We'll have to decide on a place to meet.

Good Afternoon.  A quick stop as my son is asking "Dad, when can we go work on the Layout?", well son, lets GO!  Had a nice service this morning.  Our Sunday School is getting things together for our Troops who are in a Rehab Hospital on a base in Kuwait.  They rehab and then return to the fight.  I thought about sending a train set as well, we shall see.  I have  a connection with the Chaplin in Charge and we will find out if they can do it.  Anyway, great to see Lisa checking in.  Will pray for continued success with the hubby.  RT, we will have to touch base as I have family up that way and perhaps we can catch up on a visit.

God Bless,

Dennis

Chuck, seems like everything is getting better at Blueberry Estates!  Thumbs Up [tup]  Also, nice pics of your layout!

Had the talk with our son last night about Santa Claus (etc).  It was a little emotional for a few minutes, but he had it mostly figured out, which is what we thought.  Need to work on the basement - so close, hopefully I'll have all the lights and outlets powered in a couple hours.  Then I think we're going to walmart to get a trimmer for my son to use so he can earn some extra ca$h doing some of our yard work.  I've got a John Deere Trimmer, but it is way too powerful and big for my son to use.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful, sunny 68 degrees. Going up to 82, today, with a chance of rain, later this afternoon.

Today won't be as busy as yesterday. Got all the grass mowed in one day, which was the first time in 2 years. Felt good. Now, I can take it easy today, and enjoy the nice weather. May run trains, later if the rain comes. Wife is doing much better. Less pain, every day. This makes her happy.

Dining Car is here and waitress has a smile. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good morning,

The sun's not up yet and I haven't had coffee yet, but that's next. If there is any 3-railing to be done it's got to be something quiet because the family is still asleep. I have a lot to choose from, so I think I might tackle my current scratchbuilding project (Kansas City Union Station), which still has some mechanical drawing necessary on the facade to do.
