My spouse and me have been enjoying some of Master Gardener Lisa's fresh Corn[on cob w/butter and salt], her tomatos and soon Barbara will fix my favorite, fried squash. Cucumbers and Onions soaked in vinegar with ample pepper is my appetizer.

Don't get no better but trip to Dentist Friday for more bone grafts will put a stop to my feasting. Back to apple sauce, soup and ice cream.

Glad to have you back Jim... we tried to contain the Roseyville Rascal as long as possible, but it appears no one else wanted to run against him for mayor and he only needs one vote... so it looks like he will win in a landslide!

I think Jim A has the rest of this week off too. That's a lot of nice corn, Lisa. Not too many sweet corn stands around here anymore.

JIM F - Yep - the corn did stand back up - well most of it.  Pulled about 5 dozen ears yesterday.  Froze about 4 doz. for my Mom and gave another dozen to my 91 yr old neighbor.

Another 0.5 in of rain over night.  Clody and more predicted for today.

Good morning from a coolish Chicago where I read all about the Lionel-MTH lawsuit(s) in the Chicago Tribune.  Nice summary - the paper notes this has been going on longer than it took to build the transcontinental railroad, along with the usual quotes about the hobby dying off. I think you can read this if you wish:  http://www.chicagotribune.com/services/newspaper/premium/printedition/Tuesday/chi-toytrains_tuejul24,0,5382196.story

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 59 degrees. Going up to 78, today, with a chance of rain, later this afternoon. Need some sunshine.

Today, I am driving up to Cambridge, to do the weekly grocery shopping.  This is one job that is no fun. Gas prices have stayed around 3 dollars a gallon. Food prices have gone up too, probably for the same reason.

No time for trains today. Maybe tomorrow. I need to start putting ballast on th new upper level. I don't know whether to put ballast on the blue bridge or not. Have to think about that.

Sure is quiet on the Coffee Pot lately. Wonder why ??Whistling [:-^]

Dining Car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s again.  We won the first round last night 4-2.  It was a hard fought game and we played very well.  The other team only scored on set plays, once on a kickoff(!) and once on a penalty kick late in the game.  Each team only had 12 players and our sub had some bad ankles so I wound up playing about 40 minutes.  I was part of a nice "1-2" play that set up one of the scores so it was a good evening for me as well.  We play again tonight for the chance to play in the championship game next Wednesday.

Just the regular fare on the dining car this morning for "Points East".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

CSXect - congrats on the new job!  Didn't you have a computer job before?

Yes I had a IT assistant posistion that lasted about 6 weeks 2 weeks longer than the contract was for I mostly accepted that job to"try" out and sharpen my computer skills as a learning experience and some extra change in my pocket. This microfilm job is more permanet and I will switch from 5 4 hour days to 3 8 hour days a week this way I will have 2 days in the week to take care of business and have a weekend as well. This is a far cry from 40+ hours(10 to 12hours a day in the week and 8 to 10 hours on Saturday and Sunday at XEROX. The important thing is that I like the job and I am not stressing out on a daily basis over the jobCool [8D]

Colin:  It was a show called Ultimate Factories, sorry it was on the National Geographic Channel.  It aired July 5, and 6, but I couldn't find any other information, and the Ferrari plant does not appear on the video for sale.  It wouldn't provide any information on air dates in August, so just keep checking.  The Harley Davidson factory episode was also worth watching.

Fife - Sounds good, see you then!  I'm not 100% sure on Timonium either... I too need York fundage, and with school and all the work to do on the house, I will probably pass... plus it will be less of a temptation to buy! Laugh [(-D] Looking forward to seeing what you come up with... 'island' train layouts aren't my forte!

Colin - keep me posted.  I will definitely show if I can.  I may even bring the 491 so we can compare it to the 490...  BTW - nicest Porche I ever saw was on the German Autobahn in 1990... it was a 959 (I think, it was the one that they weren't able to run the car stateside).

Jim F.

Would you ask your wife to tell me how HP ends? Everyone wanted to know and now no one is saying.strange.

No trains today did read about half of CTT.Reviews are next. The favorite train store is getting ready for the NMRA conv. as three of MTH people will be at the store Fri. evening. I'm going to help them during the day but may leave in the late afternoon. depends if people are buying or just there to look. I will stay if i am needed, guess I can handle a day of work as long as it doesn't interfere with my getting old.                    Sir James

I'm a Porsche guy. They need commercials to sell Ferraris?  (Just messing with ya Tongue [:P]) My favorite is the 250GTO.

I like Porsches too. I really like the Carrera GT Gemballa Mirage edition. Yea, I have expensive taste. It's good to dream! A little Ferrari thrown in, along with some Lamborghini, Audi (the R8, and RS4 in particular), Mercedes, and BMW.

Chuck do you really have two? That is my uncle's favorite car. I would also love to have the Ferrari F40, the first street legal car to meet 200mph, and then there's the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale.

I'm sorry, to have to admit, that I do not. I was just teasing with you. I would sure like to. I enjoyed your video.

BUT.....Buckeye has a Duesenberg. That's a fact.
