back from Pittsburgh... had nice visit with my friends on Friday and my parent's 40th anniversary party today... 6 hour drive on Friday due to traffic and rain, then 4.5 hours back today... too long a trip... wish we had more time with my friends... we polished off two bottles of wine and about 12 beers... was a good time.Fife - yeah the weather is going to be interesting... hopefully we can get the shed up, really need the space now since I brought my wheel barrow down and have my dad's chainsaw for tree clearing in the fall... now space in the garage is really tight.tired
Need to do school work and don't feel like it...OH, Marty, wife and I stopped at Eat'nPark for breakfast this morning... I had to bring a dozen Smiley Cookies home for snacks... milk and Smiley Cookies
OK on the coffee grounds JOHN, I'll just add some water.
Came home late afternoon today and slept 2 hrs., after all day Fri. and the conv. today just wiped me out. Of course with nite coming I'm wide awake now. Not much O ga. items for sale. lots of small co's showing their wares. Lionel had a small booth, Mth,Atlas, but what I saw that was amazing,,LEGOS giant copys of Detroit buildings some over six feet tall of course with Lego trains running through the city. You would have to see it. Lego tables are not new but this, wow.Other than that the conv. was just a nice long walk. Also saw Lionels "best friend of Charleston" Really looks small. Sir James

Thanks, Chuck. Good to be back. Those MR magazines did give me a lot of ideas on improving my layout's scenery. I've got a lot to get going on.

Well easy to see the Chief has been busy!!!
Went to the my first LOCAL TCA meet today, (Western Division), saw all 6 tables!! And the 2 operating floor mounted layouts. (I may have been mistaken, they could have been test tracks, it was hard to tell given the scenic detail).
I shouldn't talk negative toward them, the TTOS meetings arn't much better. These guys REALLY have a hard sell! Went to the Orange County Fair on Thursday evening, the TTOS club had a display and 3 "older" people with table duty. They were so engrossed in "their" conversations, didn't even try to talk to people standing at there table. But with the weather, limited space availability in the home, price of trains, and not many younger people growing up with trains.
Don
Colin: Nice!
Jim: Good to hear your back! You needed some sun. CHeck out Fife's photos from last Sunday...something for you to look forward to when you take your girls to the beach. Great deals on the trains. I recently bought a 6457 too! Not to belittle your deal, but why aren't these worth more??? These are great cars.
Now how do you get inside to re-wire??? The ladders are bent in and have a grip on the shell, and trying to bend them out makes me nervous.
I goofed on Diego. It's tomorrow. Ooops, and I missed the NMRA show to boot. Something about 11,000 sf of lego city and trains that sounds cool. Next year.

Hi everyone!
Back from "vacation" with the family. I had a great time sitting by the lake, swimming, eating, sleeping, sojourning the land in search of toy trains.
This year was a pretty good one in regards to toy train hunting. I found a 6457 lighted caboose, $5.00 in awesome shape, a B&M 6464-475 box car, again in very nice shape, for $15.00, and a super 6464-225 SP boxcar, $15.00. Also bought a stack of recent Model Railroader magazines for a quarter a piece. Boy, those MR guys take running trains crazy serious.
All the kids are brown as berries, as is the wife (she might have to get a new driver's license).
Traveling is great, but it's good to be home.
Here are the pix as promised. Our new Solstice:

Afternoon All, 17:39hrs here in Peterborough. Bright and sunny today and (so far) no rain.
It been a good "Train Day" today. My Williams 773 Scale Hudson and matching Madison cars arrived from Marty (Ma & Pa Jn)!.
Charlie's first words on seeing it were "Check out that bad boy!"
Its a big engine and looks a little silly on the 036 curves I have set up to test run it. It runs great and produces tons of smoke. This is my first Williams engine, quality is top notch. I hope to add some more of their products when funds allow
I try and post some pics tommorow.
Garage and Gamesroom roof tiles go on on Mon/Tue and windows and doors are going in on Fri.
Have a good one all

Mornin' boys. Hazy Hot & Humid here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Gonna take the family down to the swim club afterwhile. My uncle and his family just left after spending the night. He is a former submariner, and had plenty of cool stories. We are only 7 years apart in age, and growing up he was kinda my older brother. Plus, he used to be a brakeman on the Burlington Northern in his youth.
88 - Hopefully the weather will behave for us tomorrow.
MartyE - There was some mention on the radio yesterday that Leonard Nimoy has signed up for a new STAR TREK movie to be shot this year, and that Shattner will probably jump on board too. Both these cats will be 70 this year. Holy Cow, we're getting old. "Live long and prosper..."
Laz57 - I'd like to attend one of those Friday nite tippin' drills....
Chief - good to hear you got your rain. Now you can claim you brought it to Roseyville (thru all your CTT connections mind you) and get that 1 vote you need!
Good morning all,
It is rainy in SE Indiana with temps and humidity in the 70s. It is "muggly" as one weather forecaster puts it. If things had occurred as planned, we would have been in Bloomington by now, but a glass shower door broke this morning and we had to clean up the mess. Lucas escaped with only one scratch, but it could have been much worse. I think I am finally "official" on the pot as I was quoted extensively by the Chief earlier. Bran muffins were on the dining car for "Points East" and I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
DOUG, too bad you didn't get to see ROY, good guy.
Glad to here YUZ had a fire outside. We do it here just about every friday nite or saturday nite in spring and fall. Great way to end the week, cooking and having a few over the open fire.

Good Morning Everyone !! Off, for the weekend now !!
Colin : nice to see you have that new car at your house !! Looks like you may be driving it from time to time !!
Glad Laz had a nice trip yesterday !! What a great place that is & I hope to get there down the road too !!
Well, looks like I may be cleaning up my layout a little today !! The "Ole Shortline & Puke RR" got a little cluttered up lately !! ( That was for The Chief !! )
Hope everyone has a nice day !!
Chuck : all missions successfully carried out !!
HI GIZ,
Got a little rain yesterday, not much maybe a sixteenth of an inch.
Nice day at STRAUSSBURG yesterday. Got there at 1235 and bought tickets for the dinning car at $13.00 each for the 1 oclock trip. Boarded train and ordered Ceasars salads, one each at $11.75, they were good tasting but a little expensive.(I thought). Came with a caraf of iced tea, and lemonade. Took the nine mile trip in a half hour, was nice. The consist of passenger cars 7, was pulled by a 2-10-0 steamer. Sounded GREAT, big drivers about 72 inches high was really neat. Then went to TCA toy train museum. Forgot my TCA card told ticket taker and he had the membership book there, looked up my name and let wife and me in for free. Nice giy. Spent about an hour there looking at the trains and layouts. Then watched a video on a few GIZ layouts pretty neat. Later went to the CHOO CHOO Barn and checked out the store. Wife and I bought a few ARRTISIA Pewter people. she got two old ladies knitting sitting, and the rocking chairs. I bought hookers. Two of em, HUBA HUBA. Along with a woman washing a car. Stopped in at BARRYs Train Shop on the way home, to say HI. But BARRY is in CHICAGO at the LIONEL collectors Convention with ROY. Then took wife out to dinner in Harrisburg. All and all was a GREAT DAY O TRAINING!
All have a good one.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 64 degrees. Going up to 80, today, with a chance of rain later. Need some sunshine.
Today I am doing a few things around the house. Then, I will be in the train room, for the afternoon. Wife is having company, Niece, and will be working on a Craft project.
Doesn't look too good for mowing this weekend. Maybe I will have to wait for Monday. Grass is growing again. We are getting a lot of tomatoes and cucumbers from our garden. Great tasting.
Kurt...Prayers out for your wife. Hope she can get a surgeon.
NASCAR race Sunday at the Brickyard.
All Aboard for the Dining Car. Breakfast is served.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Morning!
Wonderful wife saw gastroenterlogist...Wouldn't let her leave the office until they had a surgeon appointment for next week (gallstones). Quite a difference from early November. Couldn't get one...Resident said he has a surgeon friend, and will check.
Said she passed a stone last week, that's why she felt so crummy. Said next time she has an 'episode' (severe heartburn) she needs to get to the ER. Trying to passing a stone can be life threatening. So we wait. Doctor said the ER might be the fastest way to see a surgeon. Very reassuring. Keep praying everyone.
Sir James I: Good luck at the NMRA convention! Looks like a great haul! I'd love to see the Shays!
Colin: Congratulations! Great looking car!
We're off to lunch with Go Diego Go today and the new collection of Fischer Price toys! The 2-yo is very excited, and has been talking about this since Wednesday!
Chief, strikes me odd that a man at your, um, wise age Is staying up as late as a young teen on summer break. Guess you still have a little KID in you. LOL.
Well, actually, good morning everybody. Run some trains....and, early to bed, early to rise, makes a man more wise.
Morning,
Grayson

Morning all. Reclinerized until now. Signing off. OH NO!!! Jim A comes home tomorrow. Will NOT be quite anymore. Good night!!!
It is a rainy night in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s. It has been a long week, but I did get home this afternoon. It was an interesting two days in Fort Wayne, but I went to a nice "mom and pop" train store on the southside of town and got a MTH Tinplate accessory. My friends from New Mexico were in town and we had a nice visit. Tmcc man, next time you are in Indiana, can you give me a ride in the Solistice? That is one fine looking car, one of the few things GM did right besides Corvairs. Chief, I am glad you are getting some rain. Doug, congrats on your daughter's birthday! Colin, Better check the terms of service, I think there is a rule about posting non-train related pictures.
EVENING ALL, I brought home some items from the new Lionel catalog but they are already listed on that other forum. Here are some anyway.
246E p/w passenger set
267W flying yankee
