It rained ALL weekend here so we took the kids to see Shrek 3. Not nearly as good as the first two. But not bad either.

Zeke If you go to page 577 of the Greenberg's manual, it has the information on the "SW" transformer.  You can run two trains, but only one will have the Whistle control.  You will find lots of information in this book.

Buckeye Your friend will be in Dr. John's neck of the woods.  My MIL lives in Montgomery, so if you ever visit, let us know.  If the weekend works out, we can all get together.  Can't say too much to do regarding trains, but they do have a nice zoo.

Not much going on today.  I will do some rounds a little later, head to the gym and hopefully take in some train time.  I did win an auction for a Jersey Central H16-44.  These look like the baby FMs.  It would be neat as it comes with two motors, magnatraction, horn, smoke, etc.  I think it would be a good candidate for TMCC conversion.

Well, hello to the new folks, sorry, when I try to catch up on all the posts, hard to keep each person and topic in mind by the time I get to my posting.  Perhaps, I could respond with a new post to each person, but that would only fill up the forum and some would say I was padding my post numbers.....am I up to 5 stars yet?....just kidding.

Have a great day,

Dennis

Good morning from KC where the weather is nice and calm today.  Expecting chances for rain from now through Memorial day weekend.  I guess I can't expect two years in a row for good weather down in the Ozarks for fishing Memorial Day weekend.  I may just bring my trout gear instead of bass gear and do that.  Might run some trains tonight.  My old Pathfinder is in the shop for some minor repairs so I can sell it next month.  My new Tahoe is SWEET!  Nice ride and lots of space for trains and fishing gear.  Enjoy the day.

Good morning from a sunny and cool Chicago where I just got a job offer to 'move over' to the IS side of things here on the university - probably since everyone has heard my boss is leaving and expect big changes... Nice to be needed but I don't think I know anything valuable in IS anymore. I guess they think I facilitate things well.

I had a grand time with the layout Saturday night - we had 3 other couples over for dinner and after the meal, I took the guys down to see the trains. For once, everything worked and it was fun to see them play with the trolleys. Then we got to using the Williams GG1 for 'time trials' around the layout - quite a challenge with 027 curves. I think the record was 30.20 seconds with numerous derailments. As Doug and Chuck said, the Williams is indeed the Timex of toy trains.

Yesterday's Chicago Tribune featured an article on Criss Angel, an illusionist in Las Vegas who is on some A&E show and lives in the top of the Luxor. Here's a fun quote: "I have the most insane Lionel train set, with houses and a whole city... I absolutely play with it." I love the image of this large layout at the top of that pyramid. CTT must get in there for an article!

I don't know about you, but as I catch up on the forum, I actually take notes to comment on some comments. Wish I could cut and paste easier but IE7 doesn't like me to... Welcome to our newest members!

Hope you feel less sore later today, Jim. I'm not sure I remember what it feels like to work-out...  Mike C, I'll bet that's not Eydie on Desperate Housewives...

HI GIZ,

54 and another nice day here, we need rain though.

Ran trains last nite for an hour NO PILE UPS.

Watch SOPRANOS, real slow.  2 more to go.  The next episode  is the one with BOBBY at the train shop.  It airs in June.

All have a good one, 11 days left in the school year.

Morning all!

Cool and rainy here today. Definitely not normal weather here - but hey - it's global warming!

Landscapers are here to dig out and reshape the back yard. I would have done this myself in the past but I am getting too old for that stuff. These guys brought a nice tractor - but to Buckeye and Chief's chagrin - it is a Kubota. They are having to take down part of the fence to get it in the yard. I tried to get a gate built, but 2 of the 3 fence co's that came out ever provided a quote, even after I called them to followup. The one quote I got was ludicrous.

Hello to all the new forumites!

Regards, Roy

Morning everyone!

Havn't posted in a couple of days, and everyone else has noted lots has gone on!!  Great to see such interest!

Zeke - That's really great, all the benefits of such a great group of guyz that are here.  Take it from one who knows, start planning to make a trip to York PA in the next year or so.  Get a chance to really meet some of these folks.  You will not only see the biggest train meet in the world, but also meet some of the greatest guys.

Doug - Sure hope that job situation, works out well.  Changes can really have lots of ripples, who knows what can happen.   Good Luck.

Thought I would throw up a picture of Chris and the prom.  Especially since so much happened.

Also, had a very busy weekend.  I retrieved an earlier thread on the elevated track and our foam room, put together the activies and track installation.

Got to get going.  Hope everyone has a great day!!

Just found out some great news.  The Jersey Central that I won for $175 NIB does have all the bells and whistles.  Has TMCC, Crew Talk, Odysee, etc.  I am not sure what SWMBO will say, but saving $224 off retail is pretty good...Honey, I saved so much moneyBlack Eye [B)]

Waiting on an SD-45 by Williams that I got on Choo Choo auctions, dual motors, no horn but I can add one for about $24.00, paid $76.00($67.00 plus $7.00 shipping) with shipping. Not new but for $100.00 after adding the horn it beats buying it new.    This will make three SD-45's in my fleet.

Buckeye, if he's looking for giant bass then he's looking at either Pintlalla or Ft. Deposit, AL. Those two towns are about a half hour south of Montgomery on I-65. Pres. Bush sometimes goes down there to fish. Lot's of fishing tournaments there, BassMasters, etc.  We also host some fishing tournaments here in Prattville at Cooter's Pond and on the Alabama River. Sorry to hear he hates grits, it's pretty much a staple in these parts! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Afternoon all,

Hello and welcome to all new forum pot readers!Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

I read several forums,( Honda, Toytota, and Diesel page) but this is the most friendly and helpful of any.

Have not posted on the pot for a few days but following along.  Been real busy with putting out flowers, meetings, study and work. Sigh [sigh]  Have not ran trains for several days, I hear them calling.

I like the idea of the more you buy the more you save.  The crane I just bought has shot my train fund for a couple of weeks.  Thats OK because I have enough projects waiting on me now, unless the is a real good deal Whistling [:-^]  The bride wants a desk built so that will occupy my days between class sessions in July.  Luckly just a simple 12x10.  I may use Trex for the decking.

Weather has been beautiful lately.  Cool nights, sunny days, I think God is showing what nice weather isLaugh [(-D]

Well, a few more flowers then start spreading 30 bags of mulchDead [xx(]

Take care and may God bless your needs

Jim, SWMBO (aka my Wife) takes it all in stride.  In fact, tonight, she suggested that I pick something out for Father's Day....think I just did.  The other thing she wants to get me is a 50 flat screen plasma TV, but I don't really need it.  Anyway, I tell her the things I buy and hide nothing, in the end,  it is more honest and easier.

Roy, Doug, Chuck, Buckeye, here's another mental status examination.

Medical history: Mr. Buckeye Riveter is reportedly now deeply enmeshed in an addiction cycle.  The street name for the substance is apparently "train smoke" and references to various subgroups, which he "chuffs" at various intervals.  Mr Riveter was first thought to have suffered late onset paranoid schizophrenia, versus substance induced bipolar disorder.  Paranoid ideations include a shadowy figure known as "The Chief" who will rain destruction down upon us all -- apparently able to fly and disburse clouds of white "grit" or "grits" with subsequent loss of Purity of Essence, or POE.  "The Chief" is also suspected, by Mr. Riveter, of poisoning the water supplies and slaughtering good, "normal NORTHERN fish".  Mr. Riveter had to be restrained and sedated during this interview.

Alert?  Fully.
Oriented? Not oriented in any detectable sphere (person, place, time or situation).
Appearance? Facial expression totally obscures complete mental deterioration.
Eye contact?  Good.
Speech/communication:  Normal in rate, rhythm and volume.  Actual talk is consumed with ruminations on the relative merits of John Deere and hate of grits and all things "southern".

Motor behavior: WNL
Hallucinations/Delusions?  Evidence suggesting highly disrupted reality testing.
Suicidality/Homicidality: No suicidal ideation or plan.  Homicidality - passive desire for total obliteration of delusional object or focus, figure called "The Chief" (NOTE - perhaps referencing old television show Get Smart?).

Cognitive/memory deficits:  Unable to measure at this time.
Estimated intelectual capacity: Unable to measure at this time.
Insight: Absent or obscured - see references "The Chief" and "southern".
Judgment: Critically impaired.  He is apparently capable of managing his affairs, but his singular focus on "dealing once and for all with the Southern Menace" makes appointing a payee or guardian a necessity.

Findings:  Although once able to function at the highest level, the patient has clearly descended into a Train Smoke induced near-constant delusional state.

Diagnosis: Axis 1: Substance induced dementia with ideas of reference associated with exposure to unknown drug "Train Smoke"

GAF (Global Assessment of Functioning) score 25.  According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, a GAF score of 21 to 30 indicates inability to function in almost all areas with behavior that is considerably influenced by delusions or hallucinations, or serious impairment in communication or judgment.

Plan: Detox via inpatient therapy - immediately admit.  Run all tox and laboratory.  MRI/Contrast CT of brain and spine.  Guarded prognosis.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

DENNIS,

I understand, my Favorite train store likes my wife to come in with me.they tell her the things I've been looking at but not buying and she tells me to get them. I just can't always decide whether I want to spend the money or not.

Chuck, decided to go with a "what would this 'pot talk all look like to some psych doc who didn't know it was all in fun or who anyone was etc" angle.  Hope it gets a laugh or two, it took a little time to do it.

Don - glad to hear your son got to go to Prom - hope he liked his day off today, too.  Your room is really coming along and looks like you've got some great help, too.

Glad you all enjoyed the quite.  HUMM, had to read pages since last night.  Think the Yanks are mouthy too.  Tongue [:P]  OH, I see the forum will be down for upgrades.  There goes the neighborhood again. Laugh [(-D]  Maybe they found the problem.  Works great sometimes and then drags some.  Had busy day.  Had pack some train items that a Yank bought and I "took to the cleaners."  Love doing that to Yanks.  Get even all the time. Wink [;)]  Got those done and then rush to County Commissioner meeting.  Rush home to return to Raleigh for Mended Hearts meeting [just got back].  Had to fill up truck and car today.  Standing up typing. Shock [:O]Wink [;)]  Tomorrow, I do hope I can get some trains in.  Pond turnning green like pea soup.  Real puzzle to everyone.  Got something from runoff.  Suspicion: water running in at a dry creek bed next to a sewer manhole may not be a spring but....  If so, City of Raleigh is in deep .... [no pun intended].  A real puzzler as it has been clear water for years and I could not get enough fertilizer in it to make it turn.  This year, only one bag in 6 weeks and that was because the supplier was out of fertilizer.  No farmer's fields close by so????  Hoping it [algie] does not die too fast or bacteria will eat up all the O2 and get fish kill.

Got to go.  Popcorn time

Chief, Brownish/greenish water is the norm here in OHIO rivers and ponds are  nasty looking even the Lake ERIE used to look blue from a distance but up close it was pretty nasty......better than it used to be.

what do you stock your pond with???? Ilike fishing for Sunfish,Bluegill,Bass and Paper mouth(crapie) and also like perch and the occasional catfish.Thumbs Up [tup]

Are there any good fish frys in the south? In Ashville south of columbus and north of circleville they have a fourth of July fishfry that is pretty good.Dinner [dinner]
