Doug, sorry to hear about your son's friend.  We all do things on the foolish side, but usually get away with it.  Hope his recovery is uneventful.  Unfortunately, I get to see lots of the results of momentary lapses in judgement...we call them traumas.

Good morning to Y'all.  I see the president has made a trip to Iraq to visit with the troops.  Glad to see he visits with the guys.  Said a prayer for his and their safety and guidance.

Have a great Labor Day!

Dennis

Good morning from a beautifully sunny and cool Crystal Lake where I have been enjoying the past couple of days with my sister and her husband who are visiting us from NYC. We ran trains yesterday and managed to derail a trolley or two in the far corners of the layout. But they really enjoyed running them, and the GG1. Went out last night for a ridiculously expensive Chicago meal but the bride appreciated spotting celebrities - all of whom I didn't know. I worked yesterday as video director at our church services for a friend whose 3 year old fell on a trampoline  (my friend, his dad, was trying to help him do a flip - which he acknowledges was stupid) and is in a full body cast for 8 weeks - boy, that'll be hard...  The middle boy is suddenly going through a friend-less, hard sort of season when everything seems to be wrong - so I took him to see the Simpsons movie in the middle of a beautiful day and will think up something to do together today - have a pleasant day, all! Hmmm, the beach sounds like a good idea.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

Happy Labor Day to Everyone !!!

It is a foggy 62 degrees. Going up to a sunny 85, today.

Today is a relaxing day. I have a few things to do, but nothing major. We will take it easy and enjoy the warm weather.  I may run trains later, when it's the afternoon's hottest. Nothing else is new on the layout. I have a lot of plans for the winter. ( bad word ) . Looking forward to the big TOTTSGEOTST on the 11th. Then the Train Show on Oct. 6th.

Question of the Day............Where is Buckeye ?????

The Dining Car is on time and ready to serve breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Labor Day Monday.

Good morning from beautiful New England. We all slept well after our day at the beach. The sun will do that to you. I have a nice sun burn on my face, except where my sun glasses were!

The Chief is a closet northerner. He secretly pines to live up here in God's country. And now he is getting chummy with Northerners in Roseyville. Soon the lion will lie down with the lamb.

Wifey drove past a yard sale on Saturday that had "an old metal train that was ridable outdoors". She didn't buy it. I think it was a Buddy L. It would have looked great in the train room.

Cool [8D] Already preordered that from last time!!!  I've still got that and a reindeer car coming, as well as a barn/chicken coop and a smoking Halloween car....   I think that's it!  Mostly, I need more track and I think a PW ZW after I get caught up.  Maybe for Christmas!

I just got back from a friends house. We enjoyed a few TV shows, and played soccer, and Capture the Flag.

Dennis, I'm very sorry for your loss.

Went to a buddy's house for pizza.  They have an outdoor firepit and when it got a little dark they made a small fire and the kids made s'mores.  Too hot for a fire, but the kids had fun.  Brought back a whole plate of brownies.  3 of them are reserved, but the rest are up for grabs, Sir James, John S, and anybody else - first come, first served!

Evening all. We spent the day at the shore visiting with family. Although it was a little cool out, we all had a great time. Just got back. Superman is on the TV, but no one is up but me. Tomorrow is the last day of five in a row off for me. I'll try to make the least of it by doing as little as possible.

Evening all,

Well I got the oil changes done, filters seem leakproof, I know oil change places don't cost much more the DIY but they mess up pan plugs try to sell things you don't need, and I just got tired of it.

Ins. adjuster called today to check on my progress and I have one more service co. coming tuesday. Then get the bills together and go from there. I know I am going to get reemed. They never pay what has to be spent. I'll let you know.

No trains today and no news from the store, shipments are slow.

Dennis, Sorry about the loss of a friend.

The "H2O" paint is theoretically a water base paint but I highly reccommend that if you do use it put it down in several light coats. The LHS where I got mine indicated that a heavier coat could cause some foam deterioration although nothing like the standard aerosols.

As regards the number of posts: It's just to dang hot to do anything else. Dead [xx(]

Jim, thanks for the information regarding the painting foam.  I see this "H2O" spray paint that advertises that it can be used on styrofoam, I will give a test on another small piece.  If not, I will use a primer.

Had a bit of a tough morning at Sunday School, the 28year old guy I spoke of last month died this morning of cancer.  Leaves a wife and his parents, but no children.  He was a real good guy....more concerned for those visiting him than for his own condition.  He finished the race well and kept the faith.

Interesting seeing all the posts over the last few days.  Seems  we go through 2-3 pages on the pot per day.  Must be some real good coffee y'all are drinking.

Well, gonna get going.  I have to look over the Lionel/K-Line catalogs and place my pre orders.  Hope this is the beginning of a great week for all.
