Chief...... Sorry, Sorry, Sorry !!!

We're out here baking in 100+ temp, then a quake (4.7 Lake Elsinore), OK I give, and I believe....

Your 2 for 2

Doug,  That'll wake everyone up in Fontana, maybe it was race related. (40 miles from Lake Elsinore).

Don't tell the Chief that Elsinore is only about 25 miles from where he will be staying.

(Big benefit living close to the beach, San Fernando Valley 112, our area 96, and thats only about 20 miles away to SFV)

Now, to go and realign the track.

Nice to hear from ya Turbo. It is haotter than blazes out here, into the triple digits again !

Don, did you do something to **** off the Chief? I know I wouldn't do anything like that. Laugh [(-D]We just had a small quake, I'll have to log onto the quake site and see where it was centered.

http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/

Looked it up and it was only a 4.7 centered a little east of Lake Elsinore. Just a little one that was almost here and gone before you really noticed it. The odds of ever having to use it are pretty hi but for what little it costs I do carry quake insurance. Better safe than sorry. Whistling [:-^]

Afternoon everyone,

Nice day today mid 80's and sunny. Watched The Shooter last night it's a must see. Story is a old one. They frame a guy for a assasination and her has to prove he didn't do it. But it's pretty good lots of action.

Have to work tonight propably be a long one It's fat day so everyone in the squad is working. They put with a new guy, has about 5 month on the street. He's got a good head on his shoulder. He's Vietnamese so I'm learning alot about there culture. He's teaching me the language I learned how to say "Loser" and some other choice words. Just like a kid learning the bad words first.

Well everyone have a good Holiday

Well  Hello one and all, hope all the great folks are still here from back in 2005-2006. My family and I moved to Texas, and boy is the high speed internet different than in the city. We are renting a house so no trains are set up, maybe at Christmas around the tree.

How is everyone? Hope some great fun has been had, good to see the coffee pot boiling, not much in the way of starbucks out here in the country.

Doug, how can it be hot it SoCal ?????? Evil [}:)]

I think it has been hotter there in San Diego than here in Texas...but definately not wetter. Cowboy [C):-)]

Afternoon all.  Sure is a slow day on the "pot".   Guess everyone has Jim A's "hayfever".  Wife does.  She canceled a trip to the mall with her buddy Shock [:O] and is asleep on the couch.  She has bad headache.  She made it to Early Church and I made it to Sunday School.  Got newspaper interview at around 2 PM.  Yes!!!  On Sunday.  Guy lives up the street so he is going to walk down.  Told him I would take him to the pond for a tour.  If he does not do a good job for me, I'll push him in so he can visit Locomutt's favorite fish. Wink [;)]  Speaking of the devil Evil [}:)], Locomutt, where is he?  Man, got eaten up by those tiny ticks when I was there the other day.  Got 4 off of me.  They are so little, they look like tiny specs.  Can't see their legs unless you drop them in a white sink.  They do leave big sores on me ever since I reacted to them a few years ago [Lymes that was not LymesConfused [%-)]].  Want to work up stairs on backroom.  Will try soon as the guy leaves.  Send rain!!!!!   Later

Sunday morning to all,

Good moorning, don't know what the day will bring but feeling a little better. I hope I can change the oil in wifes car and my p/u. The sun is bright going into the 80s next few days.

I don't understand this censor thing; some things stay some are yanked. I know there are rules but they don't seem consistant. I guess it depends who has control of the button at that time.

The train room is still not back together because of the fuse box but it will get done . I'm waiting to see if one of the boys drop by, then I got em.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Sunny & 80's here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Gonna take it easy today, because I have to work at the fairgrounds again tonight.

rt - I agree with you.  BK tends to leave the POT alone, becuz he knows we're all well behaved, and the Chief will bring his almighty wrath down on us if we step out of line.  And now that Buckeye has departed us, it will be as exciting as a quilt-making gathering.

jefelectric - The dinner cruise on Lake Champlain was the clincher for Kelly.  Stowe appears to be about an hour or so due east from Burlington.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cool and sunny 60 degrees. Going up to 85 today, with sunshine all day.

Today, I will be busy. Need to mow the back yard and do some chores around the house.  Grass really grew a lot since the last mowing. The rain we had made it green again. It's hard to believe that this is the Labor Day weekend already. This summer has flown by. I have really enjoyed the nice weather.

No time for trains, again today. I'm still planning on attending the Train Show in Berea on Oct. 6th. Maybe the train bank will be full. It's getting harder to save money , anymore.

NASCAR race tonite from CA.  # 20 is in the running for the Cup.

Indians are on the roll. Playoffs are looking good. Ballgame today.

Dining Car is here and waitress has a big smile. It's time for breakfast

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Morning all

Fresh pot before heading off to work.  Nice and cool out, may take a jacket.  Nice training evening.  The parts I ordered from Doug at Port lines came yesterday.  After supper I put the repro parts on the 785 repainted coaler to replace the originals I put on the nicer coaler I got a month or so ago.  A few bulbs to replace on the aircraft beacon and the Sam the Semephore, and a headlap lens for the 290 I got with the coaler.

Need to run.  I'll check back in later.  Enjoy services, participate in prayer, singing and community for me since I've got to go to work

May God bless

Jim

Good morning at 0600BST from a cold, wet Stockport. First fingers of light through the clouds

Off to Scotland for a few days with my estranged family, no ones fault just one of those things that happen when you are hundreds of miles apart and under lifes pressures.

Going to stick to the national speed limit (70mph). Just heard on the news; a biker was filmed on the famous trans-pennine Woodhead Pass (a two lane road with lots of twists and turns) doing 176 one hundred and seventy six miles per hour (a UK record). No way a Harley would do that, I wouldn't try 70 on one of those bone shakers!

Really must place the orders for Lionels power supply.

Have a good day you guys (and gals).

I'd love to take a sledgehammer to it, Johnny Boy!  Big Smile [:D]

I thought about a heat gun, but since the window units are vinyl, I was afraid it would melt!?  No?

Got 3 windows done at least 90 percent and 1 side of the 4th window.  Need to finish and then get in and scrape off the residue.  I just suspect that the primer won't stick to the pure silicone I put around the windows before.  Then I'll sand the metal and clean it.  Hope to prime tomorrow afternoon and paint Monday afternoon.  What a big pain in the patoote!

Time for a couple adult beverages and some scary movies!

Popcorn?  Chips?  Icecream?  Yep - come n' get it boys!

Good evening all. Wifey got called in for a "trake" and spent 2 hours with other emergencies. She did bring me home a steak sub and pizza...there goes my boyish figure!

We are headed to the beach tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a nice day, about 80 and sunny. Her cousin will be there. He's a new O gauger and is building a layout in his basement. So I'll get to chat with him about trains.

Julia is watching the Sound of Music again. I'm not hanging with her tonight until 11! Off to see what's cooking on eBay. I love it there!

Hey Philly - enjoy that little switcher! I'm jealous!!

Hey guys, taking a little break - it somehow got hot out Sad [:(].  I worked on one window for 3 hours just getting the silicone caulk off and I'm still not happy with it.  Then took a break to eat and run up to Ace Hardware for a different scraper.  I'm trying to go easy, because I have vinyl replacement windows that I put in the original metal frames on the basement windows and I don't want to ruin the windows.  3 more to go!  I think I might go work on a second one in a little bit, when it's a little cooler out.  I finally learned that when I get hot and tired I do stupid things, so now I take a break instead!

Dennis - Ron said it was the "widowmaker", but the right lower artery, so huh?  Almost made Annette a widow anyway.  I hope you are right on his prognosis.

Dougnotagrump, yeah, it's 1 ft sq grid.  I worked on it some more this morning while watching tv.  Can't decide what to do with that left hand run around.  I tried to make it fit, but it looks a little "busy" to me.  I guess it will depend on some other stuff.  This is all O31.  I have a bunch of O27 as well and want to put an upper level in the back left hand corner with something too.  Maybe lumber stuff on top and my lumber mills down the way....  We'll see.  I'll post another pic tomorrow or later tonight.

Sure is quiet here all by myself....

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Last night was spent doing housework, and today was spent cleaning up all sorts of paperwork that was scattered thru the house.  I did go for a walk with the wife last night and then I went to the YMCA for weight work.  This afternoon I took the outside walking path at the Y and was surprised at how slow I was.  Friends of ours from Chicago are coming down for a long weekend visit and we are going to northern Kentucky for a family get together.  I will be bringing my "GRITS" repellent when I cross the border and a whole lot of Yankees as well.  This morning the dining car had bran muffins fresh out of the oven and served by a "saucy wench" as she puit it.  I missed the online viewing of the IRL qualifying today, but Helio is on the pole.  Manning is 8th for AJ, and Danica is 11th.  AJ IV starts 13th and poor Sarah is 18th again.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Just got my new Lionel 0-4-0 steam switcher with Reading on the tender, have not run it as yet, been busy trying to get ready to do flea market stuff sunday morning.

Jaabat, why don't we just gp back to the wind up trains and not have to worry about wiring the layout?  Read your post on the battery powered trains, I don't care much for battery powered trains and wireless remote control, one reason is what I saw on the news recently is that there are several illegal radio stations that just got raided by the Feds down here in south Florida.  Illegal radio stations operate on their own frequency and may not have bandwith protection and are not monitered by the FCC and can send interferance to differant types of radio controlled receivers. Case in point is garage door openers, a criminal may use a multiband programable transmitter to open your garge door illegally and steal your car or other stuff.
