BRENT, I just got done remodeling my bathroom. Got my stuff from Home Depot too. Wife went with the swanstone shower walls and floor, bathsink in Swanstone, new vanity, new toilet,new med cabinet, new tile floor, new bathdoors, new paint job, new fixtures, and then all those little accessories, and plumbers time, total came to about 5Gs. Ouch glad I did the work or it would have cost another 5gs. Could have bought a few engines with that?

Hope everyone is having a good Monday so far. Pleasant morning in central Alabama but supposed to get warmer today - mid nineties, then get cooler later in the week.
Chief & Dennis - Remember the depot in Prattville I showed you? Looks like someone's about to do some work on it. All of the weeds and brush have been cut down and I saw a couple of pickups with carpentry tools parked there this morning. Maybe someone bought it to restore. Hope so.
I'm enjoying my new truck. Today I do the part that's not so fun - buying the tag, paying the taxes and the insurance on it. All part of it.
Well, back to work and a fresh cup of coffee. Staff meeting's in half an hour and I've got a newsletter article to write.

A guy told me long time ago that something about pallips or something it isn't good for. I can't remember now but I kind of only have it once in a while now after he told me that ! I think he was talking about the colon, not sure. Hope Dennis sees this, maybe he will know !!

Mike C, don't worry about Lucus going to college, if he is "made for it", he will go. If not, OK. My son did not like school and finally went to Community College for Law Enforcement. His two sisters went. He is as happy a they are because he is doing what he loves.
Was real sore last night. I added loading big chunks of rock on the tailgate of the truck and hauling them down the hill at the pond to the Saturday's tree sawing. I am filling in a big hole at the dam where muskrats [no longer there] had made under a tree. Will do the same today as will take several loads. Can't seem to get any of you young guys to come and help.

Sarah drove in the NASCAR West series for a year and did not set the world on fire. The sad part is that she does have talent. She set the world record for a half-mile in a midget at Winchester, and Danica has done no better than Sarah in terms of best finish (2nd) or start (1st), and Danica has had a lot better equipment. The IRL has got to do a better job of hanging on to its talent. Of course not all of the open wheel drivers have set the world on fire in NASCAR. Gordon and Stewart were the last two to be good from the get-go. Montoya has won a couple of NASCAR road races, but outside of Indy, has not done well on ovals. Neither Franchitti nor Hornish are going to the elite of NASCAR, so they may struggle for awhile. After running up front for many years, they may quickly tire of saying they had a "top 20 car" week after week.

It is foggy in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s again today. It is supposed to cool down this weekend, but I doubt it. We finally did get some rain this weekend, which was greatly needed. I am still bummed about the weekend. I had such high hopes, especially when Manning qualified eighth, that maybe a good result would occur. They dropped the green flag and he just went backwards. It will be interesting to see what the website says went wrong. On top of that, there is a rumor Manning may go to Andretti-Green Racing. ARRGGGHHH!
I started working on Lucas' math homework last night so I could help him with it. I think I can do it, but it has been too long since I darkened a math book. Fortunately he is doing well in Earth Science and my wife is helping him with English. I no longer worry about him getting into college (that ship has sailed), but now I just want him to graduate high school. Maybe he will work at the library the rest of his life?!?!
I have been reading most of the posts, but my memory just is not good enough to comment on any of them. There were "bonus" donuts on the dining car today. I hope everyone has a good day (including me).

Today is another busy day. I have a bunch of errands to run and will be making stops for a few hours. Have to drop the wife's cat off at the Vet. It's a typical Monday. Don't think I'll have time for trains today.
Tomorrow is the scheduled TOTTSGEOTST. Looking forward to it.
Indians won last night. Still in First Place. Maybe playoffs.

Also Tivo'd some other Keaton movies so will watch and burn them probably.

Did post the Soundstop job on the Sunday Photo section. Glad to get the drop down working. The 3 layers of Soundstop helped smooth out the transition from table to drop down, back to table. Also did NOT cut track like before. Cut the tabs and connectors off. Makes a smoother ride.

Buckeye: We were in Empire for a week, just south of the dunes; Lake Michigan beach (front yard) South Bar Lake (backyard). We didn't get out much with the two little ones. Mostly beach, and a little boating. Heard great things about Boon's (Boondocks) in Glen Arbor.
Brutus: I thought of the roman senator Marcus Brutus, thought to be a lead in Caesar's assination. Great story though...hindsite would encourage Popeye to pummel the namecallers. Haegk haegk haegk haegk.

I've been to Empire. Isn't there a big canoe livery near there. In fact, I have been all over the State of Michigan, even the western U.P.
Aristocraft and LGB are both good quality. If you buy Bachman, you will be sending it back for repairs. Every Bachman I own has been back. Aristocraft track is good too, but here used to be a problem with the switches.
Evenning all. Got one Realtrax switch fixed. Pulled one and installed a new one [got spares to put in and then I can work on bad one]. Could not get it to snap into straight section. Cut the tab off that slides under the rail end on the straight section, snapped right in. The reason the new track sections and switches will not mate [a strong man could not get it to go] is the plastic tabs that slide under the end of the outer rails is too thick. So any of yuz giz going to York this fall, look up Mike Wolf and tell him the Chief said take his track and especially his new switches and go to ----!!! Constantly having to pull the new runs of switches out and repair them. I even had a section of track today that, when screwed down, would lose connectivity. Well, all three connectors on all sections were soldered together. Go figure that one out. Poor Chinese quality and poor MTH quality control. Miss Edna sent one switch back to MTH. The magnet in the swtich machine just came apart. Love the looks of the track, quiter that any other and, when working right, best switches. Hey, I noticed I've got some switches that are darker gray than the others and the track?????

Got a nice pork butt slow cookin for some pulled pork sandwiches for dinner. Just put the G trains away for the nite, got a LGB steam sounds boxcar coming this week to pull behind the little 0-4-0. Now I need to install a smoke upgrade and that one will be done.

It was hot and humid again in SE Indiana. They keep saying it will cool off, but I will believe it when I see it. A disappointing day in the IRL today as Manning dropped out early and the usual suspects dominated the race. Franchitti won the race and the title. There was cereal and donuts on the dining car this morning. I did go out to the YMCA and did a half hour on the track. I hope everyone has a good day.
