Wow !! Lots of great pictures on this page!!! Carter looks like he's going to be a real dynamo!
Still playing with the loose track, I'm running all kinds of engines all over the place. Power connection consists of 2 jumper wires clamped on a siding. If I were to count the screws holding everything down, I think I'm averaging about 1 screw each 10 or 12 pieces of track. And, I have a set of battery powered Christmas lights (9v), maybe I can light up all the buildings, too.
Got company coming in this weekend so no train work. Going take a quick run to Vegas, then down to San Diego for a day. So the following weekend I'm going to put up some shelves! All the space under the layout is full already. Train stuff kicked out of the rest of the house, and moved to train room, as well as old games, and other stuff. And then, down came a bunch of John Deere tractors, probably 1/24th scale, I think. The tractors just don't fit on lay out, they're too big. So need to put up some shelves and clear out some of the storage stuff, so I can make room to wire underneath the layout. I will awill, actually end up putting up the shelves, securing and adjusting track, then doing the wiring.
Cant think of anything else owrthy, weather going back up a little, Tired of cleaning , goin t call it a day.

Evening all. Day turned into an all day Town day. Got three new school sites and delivered them to Raleigh and Wake Co Schools. They had been claiming they could not find any but the one I helped the County Comm's kill at 150% appraised price. Got to 99 today!!! They say cooler tomorrow. We had winds up to 35 mph with the heat. Thought I had moved to central Texass. Off to bed. Hope to work on the RR tomorrow. They keep saying rain late Thursday and into Friday. Later.

EVENING ALL
I like the caboose but it looks like it's two rail, have to change the trucks.
Received a check from Allstate today, the adjuster was very prompt,no hassle. I wonder what it will do to my next renewal though. I'll find out in Feb.
The two grandsons my wife has watched for the past six years are in school now and she is trying to adjust being home with me. she still has them after school and of course school days off. I'm just staying out of her way, weve done some shopping but she is restless.
Lisa-n-I sent you an email instead of here because i did not want to start the mess that went on over at that other forum. I have used and sold GG track for over 30 years so I have some experince with it. you will of course get lots of different answers. Sir James

Cooler today but still pretty humid. Had to move to a different desk at work - allergies were going crazy from all the dust and I just moved desks like a month ago. Oh well. Good news is that I have a different view
My friend John's birthday is next Monday. I need to stop at his favority comic book store and get him a gift certificate.

We are back from the Great Toy Train Tour.....
What a great day. Stopped at 5 train stores. Had a great lunch. Went to a Toy and Train Museum. Buckeye spent hundreds on track.
The T & K Train Store in Bridgeport is the best I have ever seen. They have a lot of trains. All brands. Good prices.
Here are some pictures...............

Good afternoon from warm and breezy Prattville, AL. It's beginning to cloud up and we've got a good chance of rain this evening.
Just got back from a nice lunch with one of the men's groups in our church. We ate at a locally owned resaurant - I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, pinto beans, turnip greens, fried okra, corn bread and sweet iced tea. What a feast! Sure beats a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
Hope everyone had a good and blessed Tuesday!
Dennis, We have the Lionel collectors club UK, only 70 odd members spread across the UK. As far as I am concerned this forum is OK for my requirements. Any way, I am contemplating a move to Bonny Scotland to join my brother and his family as I have no one near now the dear lady has given me the heave- ho!
What is OGR? Some kind of miss-spelt medievil beast?
Enjoying a beautiful Indian Summer here in Stockport, nights are drawing in and the footy lunies are ruining the pubs with thieir disgusting behaviour. So I'm laying in stocks of Robbies and single malts, come November, going into hibernation.

MORNING ALL,
Overcast and maybe 60, going to be a different day than summer I'm sorry to say. My rain gage had about 1/4in. over nite. My day is still open ,guess I'll just go with it. There's just nothing being shipped to the train store that I can get excited about, maybe a lot of stuff will come in all at once. Regards, Sir James

Morning. Mom use to tell me about what she was doing when she heard that Pearl Harbor was bombed. After 9/11, I understand why she could so vividly remember that time. Off to a meal at noon for the persons in Roseyville that would be in change and/or responds if we had a big emergency. Lady in the Church/Community does this every year. Town leaders, Church Leaders, EMS members and Fire Dept members.
Good luck to the OTTS Eastern gang. Going to one great store in Bridgeport OH. Everytime I went to Wheeling WV Cabela's, I stopped there. Great guy that owns that store.
Well, day of not so hard work planned. Water today [one of those days]. Forecasters say rain on the way.
Have a good day.
Mornin' boys. Mornin' Lisa. Looks like a wet one here in the Mid-Atlantic region.
RRCharlie ---> I take it you grew up on GOOD & PLENTY...?
Buckeye - Direct.
Chief - OK, help me understand...you shoot the beavers around the pond, then you build a dam... Did I miss something...?
anjdevil2 - Ten-8.
Chief - I'd take that RANGER to the dealership and see which truck looks best in front of it. You do have an image to uphold, being a public figure and all that...
Good morning all,
It finally cooled off a little in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s today. Some good news on the soccer front as the boys won 2-1 on the road in a tough conference game. I did not go, but I did talk to one of the parents last night and they said it was a wild game. I did weights at the YMCA and did a little track work. I did five miles an hour for 15 minutes last night. My target speed is to do six miles an hour for 30 minutes so I have a long way to go. "My" soccer girls have a really tough home game against a state ranked team tonight. Could be a long evening.
Chief and others, thanks for the advice about Lucas. I worked on some more of the math problems and finally figured some of them out. I had a rough night sleeping because I had a cough that would not settle down. Fortunately, I was able to sleep on the way into work. I hope all the participants in the Ohio train store event have much success. I see where the dining car was really early from "Points East". I hope everybody has a good day, and it was good to hear from some people who have been away a while, such as Tmcc man and Lisa-in-NC.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana

No need for me to put on a fresh pot this AM as Chuck had it ready for me when I got up.
Have a great day.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is 62 degrees and dark. Going up to 82 today, with a slight chance of rain around Noon.
Today is the big day. The Ohio Toy Train Society's Great Eastern Ohio Train Store Tour. I am up early today. Getting ready to meet Buckeye. This should be a fun day.
Dining Car is on a special schedule. Ready for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday. I will.

sir james I wrote:Chief- What if the dam bursts and floods both of the town buildings?
Actually water has run over the emergency spillway twice since my lease. It takes 4 feet of water above normal pool to do that. We had a 6 inch rain in one hour one day a little over a year and a half ago. Actually what I am doing is "shoring" up some spots that could cause future problems due to caving in. Dam is a long sloping one and not one of those short straight down things some build. I rebuilt spillway so the water is about 3 feet lower than it was originally before Hurricane Fran. Fran blew out the spillway. Dropped the lake 5 feet. I raised it back 2 feet. I like the safety of 3 feet and still have 20 feet of water. If it did go, would not flood my area as I am way up hill from the pond.
Good night.
Comment in ebay auction about 50 gang car
Lionel No. 50 Section Gang Car w/Box & Instructions. I tested it with a 9V battery and it sparks but nothing happens. I see one fellow has fallen off. It's a dangerous job. .
