EVENING FOLKS,

Brutus- there's a full moon tonite and I've had to shave three times,it's not even dark yet.

Well did not get to run trains saw them once. But I did read part of CTT and liked the suggestions and ideas.  My neighbors still in the hospital, they have said no heart attack but they can't find anything else either. She said they are keeping her there and doing one test a day now and she wants to get home.

The shipping charge is kind of high on the cupcakes but at least Chuck did not add Ohio sales tax.                         Later All, got to shave again.         Sir James

I was wondering where all the cupcakes were going to. and to think I only charge $.35 each for them. I was supply them to you all at cost as I thought we were freinds hmmmm. Some freind

Chuck's gotta pay for that postage and gas somehow - my only question is if he combines shipping!?  Then I could calculate how many cupcakes to get!

OK...........Orders for 100 cupcakes will be shipped free. They will be on the Dining Car every morning.

Hi guys, cable guy came and fixed us up at about 2:30.  Guess I could have worked most of the day, but didn't know when he'd show up.  No problems as Chewy and I had a good time watching some scary movies that the kids can't watch!

Well, first order of business appears to be this post:

I noticed in a previous post when you were talking about vandals misappropriating someone else's property, you became very indignant and said something to the effect that you have "old school" values. Exactly what did you mean by that?

First, welcome to the coffee pot, edw!  I'm not sure if you ever posted here before, but there are a bunch of great men and ladies around here that are very friendly and helpful.  This is where we come to have some fellowship.  I'm assuming your post was meant as a question and not any kind of personal attack, since I don't know you.

Here is what I actually said:

 Brutus wrote:
John Baker - that's a real shame.  Vandals should be forced to pay for the materials and fix the mess, over and over again until it is better than new.  Guess I am old school in many ways.

As far as I know, I have not damaged anyones property.  My neighbor who cut my cable definitely did damage Charter's property and according to the cable repairman he knew he did it - I can't see into his heart, personally.  Perhaps he did and was embarrassed.  I hope that I would have gone to his door and told him I cut a cable and ask if everything was alright.

I didn't comment on stealing before, but I will now.  I don't approve of stealing, of course.  I didn't really think that I was "stealing" from anyone, although I did realize that I was not invited to piggyback on anyone's bandwidth for a few minutes last night when I downloaded a few emails (I think 4 or 5) and then posted here to let folks know I would be offline.  If someone listens to the radio that we are playing loudly on our front porch, are they stealing the song from us?  OTOH, if I climb on the back of your car while you are going to the grocery store, I guess I have slowed your car slightly and caused you to use more gas...  So, I guess that's what I did.  Therefore, let me apologize to you for setting a bad example and for sinning against someone else.  If I knew who's NETGEAR gateway I used, I would go pay them for their time and also give them some free advice.

I searched your posts and see that you appear to be a very straightforward person and you speak your mind.  If you want to have a conversation with me on some issue you have with me or with past posts I have made, please use the quote button and include my actual posts so that we all know what I actually said.  I'll do the same!  Smile [:)]

Hey guys, I have been in the city around Stuart FL and had NO cell phone service because the trees are too tall.  Also been to Paco GA and had NO cell phone service for over 25 miles west of Paco, got off at the wrong exit on I-95 and went west to Camilla GA, should have gone closer to Thomasville GA.   Seems like cell phone service is taken for granted by most people!

Ever been through a hurricane and try to use your cell phone after the storm? No can do!!! Cell phone towers need electricity to operate, which means no electric no cell phone.  After Hurricane Andrew in Homestead FL we had regular phone service all the time, no outage as Bell South or AT&T use battery back-up for landlines, no electric for seven weeks but had telephone all the time!!

Just thought that I would throw in my experiance with cell phones.

Well will try to post agian as last one didn't take first time for me know chief says it happens a lot to him guess its a southern thing .

Got my hot water element in at last. Not as easy as I figured. I hooked hose to drain open drain (first wqent outside and turned off water from city) and heard it draining. went played on putor, went back shook tank heard it drain a little more went back to putor went back about 45 minutes later and took old elememt out and got a bath that was unwanted. (wife not happy either as she is now soaking up water from bedroom closet. anyway got new element in the tank and water is getting hot so we do have hot water but its a little rusty looking so figure it was from shaking tank so that will be next prodject down the road when I have the money.

Now its time to start working on my shelves for my room for my trains Big Smile [:D]

Afternoon everyone,

Fife, hope it gets worked out too. I'm just really mad that I will be out of the games for a few weeks. Good luck with the new kid your oldest brought home.....he sounds really nice. I have no tatoos or piercings btw.

So....thank the lord for wireless internet. I'm sitting on the family room couch with my laptop. My knee and the surrounding area is really swollen up now. So I have ice on it.

Ok, time to go read more posts and see if I missed anything.

Howdy fellas...

Susan and I made it to Boston.  Only took us 30 minutes to get from Logan Airport to the hotel - seems they built/dug this 'upgrade' to the highway system here and Garmin doesn't have the updates on their software yet.  8 wrong turns till the British Chick found a road that existed!

Anyhow... sitting in the hotel room and Garmin tells me that I can't download an update for their software... they have to mail it on a SD Flashcard and then I can install from there... Banged Head [banghead]

Vanities are in for the master bathroom remodel... they are solid mahogany... very nice!

Hope to make it to CharlesRo and North East Trains tomorrow... Wednesday Susan and I are taking a walk on some historical trail they have around here... I may take a trip over to Boston Common and Cheers while Susan is at the seminar this afternoon... well off to take a quick nap.

I agree with John.  Cement and then water.

Adding sand will make it easier for the vermin to tunnel in next time.

Question for you construction/destruction experts.

Like a lot of other builders in my neighborhood, mine didn't tamp down the earth sufficiently in the concrete porch and sidewalk area and there's a mini cave underneat with lots of animal holes. BB the beagle enjoys the holes, as she digs and sniffs the rodents but I'm afraid she might get stuck down in one of them holes.

How can I fill the holes. My wife says to dump concrete down, but I've heard that sand will do the trick.

Any tips appreciated!

A southern scondral made a comment on another thread....

Can't get layout work done if you hangout in topless bars!!!!!

Hmmm....  That just wouldn't work at all, I think most of them are politically correct now, and there are too many guys performing.  Remember, I'm in California.  Went to San Diego a week ago, stopped at a Rest Area on the way back to get a cup of coffee.  The only thing they had was cupachino (sp?), there were 3 flavors though.  And this was in vending machines!  All the coffee choices had been duct tapped over.  A guy was there servicing the machines, and said they do not offer coffee anymore!!  I was NOT a happy camper.  Did notice that most of the trucks outside were trimmed in pink and had curtains hanging in the sleepers.  Couldn't get out of there quick enough.

Got call from wife this morning, she is in Laramie, with threats of snow!  I thought she might turn around and head back, but they are pressing on toward Wisc..Thumbs Up [tup]  It actually may be warmer there.

Worked this weekend on relaying out track.  Significantly changed it.  I think it is a lot better,  provides for much more acess area and still affords the same functionality.  The only problem is I'm not sure I understand it yet.  I was running a couple of trains to ensure clearance and before I knew had a head on collision all set up.  Since I dont have the switch motors wired up yet, have to run around throwing them manually.  Forgot 1.  It will definetly be a fun plan to operate on, lots of alternatives.

Tonight will get the engine yard done, (dishes can wait, we have plenty and a big sink).  I need to get a engine house put together so I get the track seperation and alignment correct.  So will do that today at the office.

Glad to hear the Boy Scouts in NC were found and not lost to long.  Maybe they need to enlist the help of a couple of Brownies or Indian Guides on future campouts? Evil [}:)] Laugh [(-D]

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Taking the day off as I have a dental appointment at 1 PM, and driving two hours for a half day of work makes no sense to me.  I did have waffles and sausages for breakfast this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

LOL, Fife. Yes indeedy. The bride and I are newly experiencing the wonders of this age group. I appreciate the wisdom of this forum and especially hearing those whose teens survived adolescence, moved out of the house and live semi-productive lives.

Good morning from a sunny and warm Chicago where I am happy to be at work today - lots of teenage children issues at home. The Bears sure didn't look too good last night, and I have to put up with insufferable Cubs (and Indians) fans. Hope everyone has a fine day.
