Hey all
Nice pics, Mel!! Love dem Bridges. TrainWorks has a swingbridge on an operating layout(I'm there on Saturdays) Should stop by and see it!
Well, it looks like it rained here at work, nary a drop over at the abode. Very weird. Should be 90 today and after the rain here, should make for wonderful humidity.. at least the remarketing department is having luch for the dealership buyers (which means I eat free!!). Got my Conrail stuff then found out that I need 2 cars to complete the set. I got 1 Alco powered 1 dummy (looks Tuscan & gold) a sleeper & a observatory car. Just missing the dome & coach.... and the search continues!! Should I take 'em out of the boxes and run them or just let 'em sit.....problems,problems.
All quiet otherwise
Rich

Nick; One other thought about the swing bridge. If you look at the close up of the bridge resting on the pier, you will notice a little bump in the tracks. I was space challenged and had to but the bridge too close to a curve and sometimes have trouble with derailments.

Wayne; You had it exactly right! I went back and changed the entries as I wasn't happy with the small thumbnails. Thanks for your help.
Good morning all,
It is raining (!) again in SE Indiana with temps reaching the 70s today. The humidity never did go away last night and so no train running. Probably won't again tonight as there is a home soccer game for the boys and I have to go to the funeral for a friend of my dad's. Sounds like some of the people on the pot are enjoying the trials and tribulations of teenagers and dating. Lucas is still seeing girlfriend number three. I am not sure what the connection is, but at least her folks treat him decently. Also, he got a good grade on a math test yesterday.
Got some interesting news yesterday. Husband of older daughter is ok, but he got spun around by a semi (which did not stop) and then T-boned by another vehicle. All involved are physically ok, but the pickup he was driving is in not too good a shape. They want to borrow a vehicle from us for a while, but the wife and I are not too crazy about certain aspects of that idea. We will see.
US Women play Brazil today for the right to advance to the gold medal game. Could be a good game. Watched enough of "Dancing with the Stars" to see Helio advance. We had cereal and cinnamon rolls on the dining car from "Points East" this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 64 degrees. Going up to 73 today, with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
Today, I have to drive up to Cambridge, to do the weekly shopping. Not looking forward to it. Prices are still high. Gas is at $2.80 a gallon. Looks like that is where it will stay. All the prices reflect the fuel cost.
One more week before the train show. Looking forward to it.
All cooling systems worked good last night. Slept much better.
Dining Car has arrived and is serving breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Chuck
HI GIZ,
Got some t storms last nite. Still humid and to get some more rain this after? So GOLF against bro is on hold?
HAPPY FRIDAY EVE!!!!
All be safe.

Great to have another PA guy here. I know the area MEL, use to go up through that way to see my brother when he taught school up at WATERFORD PA.
0830BST in a cool damp Stockport.
Hey Guys! I didn't mean any harm when I mentioned 'Red Necks' it was the way some of you picked on the grit chewers that gave me the wrong impression. Before this I thought Red Necks were a band of WW2 fighter pilots in an old John Wayne Movie.
Spoke to the Chief this morning on my new mobile/land lines. Have the same problem as Fido, have to get up at 4.00am too but the days of the outside privvy are over-thank goodness and the thought of a hot dog at that hour is a bit daunting. You must love that pooch Chief! It was a pleasure to talk with you, subject to cash flow I will call again and try to call others over time.
Going to Sandbach market today, lunch at McDonalds, yes 68 yo and just got a taste for the Mac. Never too old to try new things.
Smiley's still in hiding.

Hi All,
Mel- Thanks very much for the info and pics. I think I'll go with the swing bridge if I can fit it in the space as I have seen some good deals on this bridge. Need to play around with RR-Track a bit more.
John B- No, Our trampoline did not find fame on TV Though it nearly cleared a 5 ft hedge! Hope you manage to blag some extra space for your layout at your new Northern residence. (I'll have to be careful using the Northern term. The Chief will get all twitchy.)
Made some more progress on the garage. Nearly have the garage fully painted inside. Quiet a bit more wiring is now in place in the gamesroom.
Have a good day all
Nick

Mel,
Maybe I got that all wrong. Your photos now enlarge when I click on them. Did you fix them?

Ken,
Oh. While I was trying figure out the tiny photo puzzle, I forgot that Mel was having the problem. My apologies to both of you. I edited my post. Did I get it right this time?
Cheers

kblester, Mel,
It does kblester. Did you figure out what Mel did? Take a look:
Mel's original tiny photo: http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee287/RRCharlie/Bridge%20Pictures/th_P1010003.jpg

See the "th_" before P1010003.jpg in the first two? That stands for "Thumb." Mel accidently posted photos in thumb nail size.
Bionic Woman was pretty good! Chewy got some potato chips So she is happy, but wife says "No no no!" to me!? Oh well. I think she meant no more chips for the pooch!?
Chuck M - glad you are Chilling again! Sir James, good luck on your wife's test. Read that a Batman special effects guy got killed . Glad to hear that the bad guys didn't get that CSX train! I might go to bed early, so you guys help yourself to the leftover cupcakes I found out behind the diningcar!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
I copy / pasted this view. If you click on this it will enlarge.
If you put the cursor to the right of the picture and click it you will get a much larger view. When this pops up hold the cursor on the picture until a square box shows up in the bottom right hand corner. If you click that box it will make the view even larger. I wish I knew how that was set up, but it makes great pictures of your bridge. Hope this helps.

Mel : very nice pictures !! Here, where I live, they built a swing bridge for the Bessemer RR & it never did swing. I don't know why, & it's pretty old now. In Cleveland, there's a lift bridge like yours, now N&S. Just down the road where I grew up & still work, there are 2 Bascule bridges in operation yet. One is a RR bridge, double track, now N&S also & the other for cars.
Thanks, John
Great pics Mel - thanks! Very nice!
Fife - I think I'm gonna install a Trap Door and a Pool of Acid! The boyfriends "check in" and the don't "Check Out" Maybe a bug zapper that stuns them with a flick of a switch, so they don't scream on the way down the chute and tip off the family or neighbors!

Take your boyfriend with the baseball cap to a Chippendale's show like usual?
I picked up the Polar Express Trainsounds tender tonight. I have very high marks for everything about it except for the whistle. It sounds like a diesel horn. And not just a little.

Fife: That revolving door must have cost a pretty penny. I hope those boys are picking up the checks for dinner. You must have quite a stack by now. Enough to fill a pond. Have you ever liked someone she brought home? What were the results?

Wow, she goes through guys like I go through 2 gallons of milk.
Evening everyone,
We had off today. I slept in late, rested a lot and watched TV. The swelling down, and now the swelling is back up.
