Posted by thatboy37 on Thursday, December 21, 2006 10:09 PM

i will start with the do over of the man on the peir. nothing spectacular but i just took pics as i was going. i dont know how to do the scenery so thats one reason i havent done anything to it yet. any ideas would help. hope you like. sorry if you have to turn your computer sideways to view just the way i held the camera to try and get a good shot. dont worry about the fastrack it was used as a template

That is great.  I've got one of those K-Line ones and I will cut out, frame around and lower benchwork supports to get mine in.

Nice pics!

Thanks for the update Reggie. I was seriously going to post a "where's Reggie" thread. The last I heard was that you were dumping your fastrack for gargraves. Bold move. I was looking to see how you were progressing. So again, thanks for the update! (my layout building has been on hold until after Christmas, so I have been living vicariously through you.Wink [;)])

I see you have the ballast tamper out there preparing the new tracks for some train running!

Nice work Reggie!

Can I make a special request for tomorrow's picture posts?  Do you have a picture of an overall track plan, how big is this layout going to be?  Any special features or yards you are putting in?  I'd love to see the overall idea of it, this has got me very intrigued....

REGGIE looks great your fisherman.  I would leave it like it is and just have a water look around the piers, maybe put a row boat and a guy in it fishin.  Keep up the good work.

well i will try to draw up what its going to look like. i'm just freelancing the whole thing. as i think of something new to add i will put it in as i go along the way. as i post the pics its actually following the course of the layout as it goes around the table. the room is a total of 731 square feet the table top takes up roughly 500 square feet give or take a few feet. the bottom level will have 4 trains running at 1 time possibly 1 of the 4 going up to the second level. which in turn all 4 trains on the bottom level can go to the second level. i plan to add level 2 when i get all of my switches from ross to complete the first level. ross told me that i could only order 2 switches at a time so this has kind of slowed me down a little but i have 89 pics to show you in the mean time. the bottom level has 2-72 degree switches, 14 reg degree switches, and two 8 yard track sets to make my yard. when i come in the yard you can go from mainline 1 to mainline 4 and vice versa. hope this helps in visualizing what it going to look like. on the serious tip i dont have a plan. just freelancing as i said earlier

I have the same K-Line fishing bridge and I really like how you are working it into the layout.

i had 2 sd 90/43mac up's by kato but i gave them to the guy at the hobby shop for a nice little store credit towards my o scale collection. i still have some of my n scale that i kept like almost 500 rolling stock by atlas. plenty switches to make a nice yard with, and 2 boxes of code 80 flex track. so once i get done with the o scale i will do one in n scale with the remaining stock.

Great job Reggie! I can't wait to see your layout all done up in the pages of CTT soon enough.... The ones that really get me are the layouts with the vast expanses of scenery and yards and such..... I can only imagine the possibilities you have with scenery there....

this is the far end of the room curve which is about 35 feet from the other and of the room. i also added a 2 x 12 foot section to the table top. you can see the addition in these pics.

well it actually gives it a more realistic look if you ask me. as to real life tracks have 2 shiny silver rails and i guess thats what gargraves is trying to do. give you the appearance of 2 rails by coating the center 1 black. my assumption but it still looks great in my book.
