Isn't it nice that we're letting illegal immigrants in that are testing positive for Covid? Unbelievable.

Afternoon all!

Happy B-Day Tyler! 18 & legal!

Sunny and nice here, but spent all day at doc's. Good report from surgeon re my CT scan yesterday and scope exam of my mouth/throat. Hard to hold still when they slide the scope through and down your nostril and into your throat/larynx area. Wowzers! Radiation oncologist visit tomorrow. He will be reviewing the same CT scan.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and 42 in the Potomac Highlands.  Took my pretty little bride for a pretty little ride on the mountain side. Hmmm, sounds like a country song. Could be a big, big, hit...Cowboy

We decided to check out Mance, PA, which has the horseshoe curve on B&O's famed Sand Patch grade. Did have two CSX stack trains pass by, in short order (luck). But the highlight of the trip was spotting a buffalo herd at a nearby ranch.

66 and sunny. Wifey had PC tied up for a Master Gardeners' meeting all morning. She signed off at 12:10. undefined She couldn't get her laptop going right.  She use to teach computer programs for USDA all over USA.  Anyway, I signed her own as she did other things.

Gov of Texas and CA, crazy.

Got meeting with my State Senator at 4.

Good Friday Eve

Meeting went smoothly and was done by 9 - off to Jenni's for dinner of Chicken and noodles and corn.

Watched the latest episode from Danny Harmon - Distant Signal (on Youtube) and then hit the rack.

Finalized a small purchase for Jenni of an N Scale CSX caboose and a Penn Central (to match her GP38) boxcar, will pick that up tomorrow night.

I purchased a Kasey Kahne add on for $55 and I'll pick that up on Saturday.  This will go with the Mopar Express set we bought for Christmas and the road runner box car.  I still have to find a smoke unit for the Mopar Express, as I burned it up - and that's not unusual.  I have the Winter Wonderland Express and the same thing happened to that.

Sunny and breezy today and 45.  Temps will dive later.  No rain until next week, allegedly.

Back to Work

TGIF!!!

Recertified on SCBA last night, so good for another year.  Mickey D's for dinner then home.  Been quiet on fire front during the evenings and night, daytime, lots of false alarms.

Sunny and windy (AGAIN!) today 25 now up to 39F later....61 on Tuesday, near 70 Wednesday and Thursday and Friday - but that's a week away.

Roy - Great Report!

That's all from here - for now - check back later

Hi all!

Sun starting to peek out - cold front last night - partly cloudy - low 60's on tap. Weekend looks to be quite pleasant!

Anj - a big row a few years back when manufacturers brought out new SCBA masks with integrated microphones, particularly noise cancelling. They did no testing - no coordination with radio manufacturers - just assumed it would work, It did not. Did not understand each radio manufacturer tests and certifies the remote mics/speaker mics/ etc., approved for their equipment to ensure it works.

Nothing else to report at this time! That's good!

Regards, Roy

Took a couple days off from work.  Nice sunny day but cold.  Supposed to warm up next week.  Took a trip to Ohio Dutch country yesterday.  Came home with some meats and cheese.

Nice to get out.

Mornin' boys. Partly sunny and 27 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Sister and nephew (7 year old) visiting folks, up on the mountain this week. He was going a little stir-crazy, so I brought him to Fifedom yesterday afternoon, so we can work on his "chill skills". He ran trains for a bit, unloaded the top half off the toy baskets, and enjoyed a long bubble bath in the "BIG" tub. He actually stated that he was feeling "chill". Maybe take him into Cumberland to check out CSX (can't take him to scenic RR yard).

54 and sunny.  Some breeze.  Back from Miss Daisy driving me.  No fuss nor backseat driving.  She "screwed" up several times.  Got momentairly lost and I politely got her straight.  If it had been me driving, lots of mouth.

Got 6 tomato plants [in greenhouse now] and a squirrel proof bird feeder [my old one 20 years old].  It was at Logan's Trading Post in Raleigh.  Its the old Seaboard station where I use to ride trains out off when I was a kid.  Still the same outside and inside.  Is a garden center and restaurant.  The old covered boarding area and etc. are for outside plants and pots.  Neat.  Super popular. A fence divides the garden center from CSX.  A big 4 engine freight came by while we were outside.  [in slow speed due to yard limits as switching yard just past the garden center plus passing through a main part of the City]

Good evening all,

Messed up left hip after practice jog on Wednesday.  Have not done much since.  Weather has been nice.  Got blades off mowers today so I can get them sharpened.  Finished up watching WandaVision on Disney+ Friday night.  That was one strange show.   Going to the track Sunday to get J&J vaccine for COVID.. Worked on taxes tonight.  Looks like we will be getting more back than expected due to HSA contributions (I think).  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning folks!

Todays weather - repeat of yesterday Cool

Got the El Cam replacement vapor cannister purge valve in the mail yesterday. Tested and then installed it - appears to be working. Still chasing vacuum leaks. Replaced more vacuum lines - 35 yrs old - one new piece of hose leaked - they just don't make 'em like they used to? Worked on the fast idle, electric choke, and vacuum choke pull-off - got them closer to spec.

Gave son some advice when he asked on building a 4'x8' raised bed from some leftover 2x8's. He did all the work. He planted some cucumbers (sprouted from seed - germinated in one week) and has some other veggies from seed still in the terrariums.

Good morning from a sunny and 60s North Bluff, about time. I guess it will be warm for the next 4 or 5 days before it cools down to closer to normal. I am good with that. Still snow piles around but they should be gone by the end of the week.

Saw the three-legged deer yesterday. It is not bleeding anymore and that leg is larger than the others. Not sure if it is muscle growing or swelling? Been weaning them all down on food now that there is some green for them to eat. Good thing I only have 50# left.

Should be nice for wifey’s 60th birthday on Tuesday. I hope the kids have something special planned for her. The daughter and SIL sold their house today and don’t have one to move into?? Not sure how that is going to play out?  May have to build that bathroom in the basement. Surprise

Had to laugh at the Governor of WV on TV today when he said he tells the people of his state that they’re not going to grow antlers if they get the vaccine. Had a thought of Fife with a 8 point rack.  Laugh

Best get.

53 and about a 10 MPH breeze. Church was outside for a change. Our building [leased] is too small for inside now.

Can't eat anything until after test at 11 tomorrow. Gator Aid. Hurting bad when I exert myself. After Church, was in fence with dogs. Finished pruning on grapevines. Got cold and chest hurt [burping like crazy].

Suppose to stay dry for all week.

Have a good week ahead.

Good evening all,

Went to the track and got the shot.  No ill effects so far.  Very smooth process.  No delays.  Got to drive down the pit straight after we were done.  I did not exceed the pit speed limit as I did not want a stop and go penalty.  LOL.  Very nice weather day.  Got to visit grandkids in Indy.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys. Sunny and 24 along the Allegany front range. Temps are supposed to be nice the rest of this week.

Did survive the 24 hours of nephew. He craves attention, which tests one's patience, but I managed. We did venture trackside Saturday, and caught a few trains traveling thru Cumberland.

KRM - Why, thank you kind sir. I certainly can appreciate a fine rack.YesCool

Ooh, forgot to mention how excellent the Las Vegas race was yesterday. If they could all be that interesting...

As for the Americas Cup (sailing), it's been pushed back to the 10th due to Woo-Han, and the Kiwis had an actual tsunami scare this weekend.

Stop-and-go, good one Mikey.

37 and going into the 60's. Sunny and beautiful.

Second dose of poorly grape flavored dish washing detergent followed by three 12 oz. bottles of Gatorade. Several trips to the ---. Now wait for the trip to town. 11AM.

Hope all have a great day.

Good morning!

Another sunny day and might hit 70?

Some more progress on the El Cam. Validated the 02 sensor is working, thus controlling the carb mixture control solenoid duty cycle. Turns out my 1970's Craftsman dwell meter has 'issues'. Used a voltmeter and transcribed 'dwell' to voltage using the meter scale on the old dwell meter. Took it out for a drive and runs good!. Stopped and got some fresh gas. Stopped at a neighbor's as he was outside when I pulled into the alley to head back to the garage. Starts easily and does not 'diesel' when shutting it off (a problem it had quite occasionally prior to the fire). Still something going on with the vacuum, a control, or the carb itself. Will not idle below 1000 rpm. Primary butterflies are completely shut. When first started it idles at 750, but after a few seconds jumps to 1000- making me lean more towards a vacuum or control issue.

For now I will get back to the windshield, interior, and some wiring cleanup in the engine compartment.

Chief - hope everything comes out OK! Mischief

Good Afternoon..................

Friday night's escapade went well, looks like I have a new local source for N Scale - Jenni was happy with her new CSX caboose and Penn Central (to match her GP38) Boxcar.  Dinner at a local diner then off to her house for a bit.

Saturday cleaned house for Mom and then off to pick up my Kasey Kahne add on set.  The outer box was worn and sun bleached but everything inside was new.  The gentleman I got it from is a great guy, might get more, but we'll see.  Matches the Mopar Express set we got, perfectly.  Jenni had a guy come over and he went through our 1942 Philco 42-1008P console radio.  He couldn't get it to work, he's ordering replacement capacitors, as the originals are wax and paper.  After he left, I ordered Dominoes and tinkered with the radio and it now works.  The record player also works, just need some rubber items and the turntable will move.  We spent the evening listing to local stations with oldies and a station from Canada came in loud and clear.  We had a fire in the fireplace and danced the night away.  We hit the sack early, as church was earlier than we usually get up.

Had a breakfast on the fly, Mickey D's then off to 0900 Mass.  afterwards, went to Trenton for Jenni, we needed per supplies for her Frogs and guinea pigs.  Afterwards, Jenni fed the frogs and we cleaned out the piggy cage.  We did some shopping and errands.  I found a bulb to light the dial on the radio, so now that's working.  I made tacos for dinner, watched Coming 2 America (don't bother - even Jenni hated it), then off to bed.

Will probably get layout time on Sunday, my brother is coming up for a visit on Saturday.  Need to get cracking on the street light project.

Roy - to quote a pun, those vacuum lines suck.....If you ever have a chance to look under the hood of a Daytona Turbo Z or GLH, trust me, with the El Camino, you're getting off easy....

Sunny and 45F - We'll see what tomorrow brings.....

All OK.  Got pictures of my esophagus, stomach, colon and intestines.  Don't think you want me to post.   One snippy in the colon [it fine looking but sent off].  Same with snippy in the tummy and esophagus.  Found bacteria from my Advair inhaler.  Seems some get past the "wind pipe".  Had it before.  Simple antibiotic for a week.  Still hurting like h--- when I exert.  Not heart.  Press and burp.  Dr. says this may stop it.  Also, if not, will change reflux meds.  In the past, have taken 4 different kinds.  Seems I get "immune" to them after a long period.  Problem now may be the big cheese burger with a slice of onion on it.  Dr. said OK.  Wifey told him we were going to Bad Daddy's.

Got phone calls from adopted daughter [former Chair of Count Comm.] lawyer.  Checking on me.  Then more calls.  Wifey had to go get first shot.  Went as a Human Services Board member to observe ;) [our employees giving].  Very efficient.  Then visited with the Church [New Bethel Baptist] secretary and custodian [her hubby].

Well!  Lady Firestorm and I got our COVID shots today, these were the Johnson & Johnson single shot variant.  (Luckily I shot muzzle-loaders for years so single-shots are something I'm used to!  Wink)

Took about an hour and a half to go through the process at the Richmond Raceway.  We waited in the car for about a half-hour until called and then went into the building that used to be the Cow House when the state fair was held there.  It hasn't been there for years so the aromas of Bossy, Flossie, and their friends have long dissipated.

About another wait on a winding line like you'd have at a theme park, about an hour.  Funny thing was, the line seemed to move faster the closer we got to the needles!  Strange.

Anyway, the shot process itself was OK.  I haven't had a needle in me in decades, but strangely it didn't really hurt, just felt a little weird.  I've had electric shocks that felt worse!

So that's out of the way, got the "Pass GO, collect $200 card" that confirms we're not spreaders of pestilence, so we're done.

No lollypop afterward though.  Damn!  Angry
