I had a Zoom interview this morning, it seemed to be a position I could really get into.

But, when it ended, I had a feeling they would keep looking (sigh!)

Just keep throwing "stuff" at the wall Snip, some of it's bound to stick sooner or later.  Thumbs Up

Hang in there Snip and keep looking. I don't know how old you are but what I found is if your in your mid to late 50s or older they say it don't matter but it does. Tongue Tied

Neighbor got his replacement lift arms today and they are on. A much better design on the bucket pins than on the one that broke. He should be good now. $2,500 later out of a machine scrap yard in SD. He is happy.

Good evening all,

Still waiting on roof coatings.  Was supposed to be here on a nice, dry, warm sunny day.  Now due to arrive during a cold wet day tomorrow.  Go figure.  Did pick up sticks for about an hour.  Should mow this weekend.  South 40 is getting tall.  May just hit that Saturday.  The more I look at this "NEW" TRAINS website the less I like it.   I clicked on two items that did not have a lock symbol on them and it said I had 6 items to go.  ?????  If this is a plan to squeeze more money from subscribers, I think this will blow up in their face.  I am guessing some bean counter came up with this "brilliant???" idea.  Go figure.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Happy Hump Day!  I hope everyone is doing well.

Snip - Keep your head up.  Make sure to follow up with a thank you note very soon.  Also, please remember most don't even get an interview these days.

Rich - Good for you and Jenni.  Do what you believe is right.

Good night,

Good morning folks!

Cold front blasted through last night. Much cooler today, cloudy. A bit of rain.

Spent some time yesterday cleaning some tools in the garage.

SNIP - yep - hang in there!

Almost forgot - got up the energy yesterday afternoon (It was really nice out) to clean the rear gutters. I had forgotten that the tornado in 2019 threw up an incredible amount of dirt that washed off the roof. Gutters had 3/4" of mud in them. So got a small trowel and scooped most of it out prior to yesterday's storms. Did not get to it earlier since I had been in the hospital twice since then

This is interesting - just received this.

As I read it one will be able to access all past issues of CTT as long as one has a subscription. No extra costs. This looks like a good thing to me at this time.

----------------------------------

"With the recent launch of our new website, Trains.com, we are excited to announce that all Classic Toy Trains subscribers will have access to the digital edition of the magazine directly on the website!

The May 2021 issue will be live in the Classic Toy Trains Archive section of Trains.com this Friday, March 26. To view that issue as well as all issues from your past, present, and future subscription terms, you simply need to log in to the site with the email and password associated with your subscription. Each issue will be posted on the site early, so subscribers will be able to read it before anyone else!"

------------------------------------

The email further discusses (as I read it) that the previous digital manager Zinio that was used to read the digital versions is no longer required. One will still be able to access their Zinio digital library, but after the May issue all content will be online at Trains.com.

Good evening all,

Finally got the roof coatings for the shed.  Hopefully this will get done this weekend.  Don't believe I have ever seen trees start to bud out in March before.  Not a bad thing.  Not a good day at work.  Noises are being made about people going back to the office.  So stupid.  Watched the Indycar Iracing tonight.  Not the real thing but close enough.  Supposed to be really windy tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

TGIF -

Ran over to get Jenni, made our run with 15 minutes to spare and went to Olive Garden for soup salad and breadsticks

Was home by midnight.  Up early for work - I'm running dispatch, which is ZERO fun, but I'll be out by 5.

Viewing tonight, the FD is taking a truck, so I'll be going with them.  Jenni has a meeting with the annulment lady and I'll meet her somewhere after we are both done.

Yeah - I don't see where I can browse through the current issue, either, the preview looks interesting.....

Happy Birthday Spank!!!

Work is screaming at me - check back later

Aah, the end of March, that time of year that you get teased with nice weather one day then you get hit with cold damp for a week. Can’t wait till it passes to warmer most of the time. Sure, some worse weather down south yesterday. Sure, can do without that stuff.

Things are quiet here on the North Bluff for the most part. I have a few things I would like to do but just wet enough to not do them.

Spank, are you planting or killing Moss in your grass? Never heard of planting moss but could be a cure to the forest floor no grass will grow issue we have?

Best get.

Okay Spank, I get it, but you got me thinking that maybe I would be better planting moss than trying to kill it here. Laugh Maybe Irish Moss would cover some areas where the Grass just won't grow?

Afternoon folks!

Sunny and nice - 70's!

Just returned from ride-along with my son to get his first COVID shot. Anyone can get the shots here now. Took 2 hrs due to traffic. Bozos at city did not publish that they were blocking a bunch of streets/intersections off around the fairgrounds which FEMA is using. They even blocked off entire lanes so if you pulled onto the correct street with a left turn your were shuttled away from the entrance and would have to pick one's way around hoping to find a way into the line. Son had to admit my superior knowledge of that part of town allowed us to get on the best routes. Thousands stuck in wrong lanes/streets and not moving an inch. They will be there for hours...

Parts from ERR on the way to repair the G Gauge Bachman TMCC conversion ten wheeler. Owner gave the go-ahead for the costs ($210 just for the boards). Labor TBD....already did a couple hours of work disassembling, checking all the wiring, etc.

DJ - Happy B-Day!

Regards, Roy

Last fall I got fed up with areas under a maple in the front yard where grass wouldn't grow.  I bought some Titan "Sun and Shade" mix and put it down in the bad areas.  Low and behold it started coming up in about two weeks, then the cold weather arrived and it went dormant like the rest of the lawn.

So right now I'm waiting for the permanent arrival of the warm weather to see what happens.  So far, so good. It looks like the Titan's working fine.

The thing is, it's $50 for a 25 pound bag.  I'll let you know how it works out.

I see now from reading on-line and Spank I can not afford moss. Needs too much booze for my budget.

Good evening all,

I did get to see the May issue of CTT, but I am not sure if it is part of the regular subscription or if I accidentally triggered the 30 day trial time segment for the larger, pay site.  This whole process has not been very clear or well thought out.  Work was ok today.  Fired up the John Deere tonight.  Runs like a champ.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Oh yeah, I saw the Jonathan Green seed, expensive!  Which is why I tried the Titan.

At $87 for 25 pounds I'd leave the yard bald!

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and 53 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.

The dust has settled here in Fifedom.  It was a lovely viewing and service, but rained like the dickens at the cemetary.  It's been a long couple of weeks, and it ended with taking Fifepup and fiance' to the airport yesterday.  Today is the first day that Ms. Kelly and I can just sit down and unwind.

Thanks for all of the prayers and well-wishes. You all mean so much to me.  Some of you reached out to me privately, and those were met fondly as well.

Annnd, this showed up 2 nights ago...

Question??? How does a competent ship captain get sideways in a wide canal?

Fifey, a present from my farm. Wink

Not much on agenda.

Supposedly  there was a high wind that pushed the ship into the side of the canal where it stuck fast.  Looking at a ground level photo of the ship and how high they've got those containers piled I can understand why.  That's an awful lot of top-hamper and a very broad side to present to a cross-wind.

I wondered if there was a steering gear malfunction but that's not supposed to be the case.

Hello there,

Fife....glad things worked out, continued Prayers.

Spanky..... looking good.

Not much on the kitchen this week.

Mrs and I got our 1st Pfizer shot Monday. Sore arm for about 24 hours was the worst side effect. Was more tired than usual too.

Quite the operation they had. There were 20 or 25 giving the shots plus at least that many support personnel. Who knows how many appointments in 10 minute increments.

Spent a couple of days farming. Hauled shi%, put fertilizer on the hay and got some equipment rearranged.

Grandson's four wheeler appears to be a victim of ethanol. It didn't mix well with the oil and toasted the piston and crankshaft. Spent a day working on it  and parts shopping.

A tick was found in littlest granddaughter's ear this morning. Her sister stayed with us during the trip to Med Express.
They spent the rest of the day here riding bikes and their ride on toys.

Best move on

Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Mornin' boys. Raining and 51 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Not sure how they will get the NASCAR race in today? It was a total cluster yesterday, and the network has been hyping this dirt track race for months.

Fifepup's fiancé likes crafts, and while she was here I asked if she wanted to paint in the train room. She applied the base color to the new section of the layout. I really like her. Speaking of the layout, I probably should get working on the new scenery, and post some progress pics.

Thanks to everyone for the well-wishes.

80 and some clouds.  Getting windy.  Possible storms this afternoon.  Some yesterday but we got big rain for a short while.  Some early this AM.  Some boomers.

Went to a new [to us] Church.  Biggie.  Big stage, band, big screens projectors and lights.  Kind of like a rock concert.  Good band and music.  One of the many associate pastors preached.  New preacher coming in a couple of weeks.

Resting rest of the day.

On the ship in the Suez, figured there was a pilot like most ports.  Figured he dropped his cell phone and was crawling around looking for it.  Wife was calling.

Afternoon all!

Missed a day or so. Been under a bit but better today. Went and did the grocery shopping so that wore me out. Sunny and cooler from a cold front last night. Yesterday was nice and warm so I spent about 30 min pulling up all the old soaker hoses from around the house. All were leaking badly where they should not be. We have had enough rain last year and this year to not need them.

NASCAR Bristol rained out yesterday. They tried a mud run - ha! Lasted just 2 laps when the windshields were 2in deep in mud.

Fife - again condolances! Nice pet!

DJ - are the landscapers a neighborhood HOA thing? Why do they get so close to your house? I thought the area you were dealing with for them was along the back property line.

Afternoon All,

Not much going on here, helped Chris re-assemblying his weight training station.  3rd time I've put it together.  Hopefully it will be the last for awhile.

No Nascar today, was looking forward to it.  Just watch it tomorrow.  Really enjoy listening to Clint Boyer and Jeff Gordon during the race.

Need to starrt thinking about taxes, did get Turbo Tax and have it installed, so won't take long now.

Hope everyone has a good day.  Take Care All !

dbaker - The FOX promos with Clint and Jeff have been great.  Gordon has always been just plain vanilla in the broadcast booth.  Now he's plain vanilla with rainbow sprinkles.

Good evening all,

Watched USMNT win a friendly at Northern Ireland today.  The other team has not won in over a year so not a major deal.  Probably will not make World Cup again....

Windy and cold today.  No progress on shed.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Been a bit since I logged on.  Getting a little done around the fouse.  Hope to really pick up some steam this week and tackle some smaller , nagging, projects.

Weather turned colder here in Western PA.  Looks like 1 good day tomomorrow and then the temps dip.

Thoughts to all that need 'em.  Stay safe everyone one.  We're getting close.  Until then here is my new Polar Express Hobo car...
