SJ, great news on Granny Pat. Too bad it took so long but things sound good so far! Yes

Dennis, we have your weather. 90s today and I am trying to get the grass done before it hits the 90s, mid 80s now but climbing fast. Cool

I have not seen lava rock in a grill in a long long time!

One hour of cutting down and done around the house and shed. Time out for a bottle of water and some Gunsmoke then up to the east end fields of grass.

Buckeye, enjoy the Grands.  They will be grown and gone before you know it.

Boy, you can really say that again.

Okay, 2020 just got stranger.  I stepped away for a few days, and Keller is starting off the Coffee Pot?  It's like waking up in some kind of parallel universe.  One where everyone owns trains, but that they're all lettered for the New York Central.Surprise

Happy Birthday, Chief.  Has your gift from Buckeye arrived yet?

90 degrees

A little more than I wrote yesterday, I was tired. To get her overies out they had to cut one away from the bowel. Then that meant they had to repair the bowel. So she can't come home till they know the bowel is working.

Mornin' boys.  Hazy & 77 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Mom wants us to get her to the farm pond, so that she can feed the fish, one more time.  Will try to make that happen this weekend.

Still busy at the railyard.  All the prepping is ready for this Wednesday.  Turning our attention to the "open-air" passenger car, and I've been spending a lot of time with the needle file Dead.  Dirty, nasty, loud contraption.

SirJames - I hope Granny's home soon.

anjdevil - Looking forward to a visit, I've just got my hands full at the moment.

Buckeye - Nice video of the LionChief.

Got up at 8. Been drinking coffee and looking at the news. George Floyd is in NC. Did a walk about out back looking at gardens. Now getting ready to goof off today. May mow again and water as guessed storms never came. Guessed again for this evening. ????

Seems good to not be rushing around with things to do. Did go to Walmart yesterday. Folks are funny . Seems all about themselves.

Don't forget D Day.

Have a good one.

Spent a day on the IL. river with our son Russell and his. Was fun but as the day got longer the idiots got thicker on the water and the temps went higher.  We made it and all in all it was a great day.

The best boat, is someone eles. Laugh

Mornin' boys.  Slept in today.  Did get to see Mom, but her leg was too swollen to move her around.  I wound up installing her AC instead.  This must have triggered my bum shoulder, cuz it ached all night.

Wifey and I dined out last night, inside a restaurant.  Not just any place either, it was the Candlewyck Inn (downtown Keyser), where we held our wedding reception.  There was actually a wedding rehearsal dinner going on in the premisses, so that was cool.  The food was "ok", and the kitchen was slow, but it was just nice to sit down and chat for awhile, other than our own four walls.

Morning.  85 and sunny.  Heating up fast.  Will water today.  Mowed and sprayed yesterday.

Fifey, getting old causes aches and pains.

Buckeye, get them running for the Grands.  Also, take them fishing.  Fishing a kid never forgets.

Have a great week ahead.

Sun and 70's today. Kev I agree that after owning boats someone else's is definitly better. Granny Pat is still in the hospital. She seems to be recovering well but they want to make sure the bowel is working properly before they release her. The kids have been keeping me fed.

Oh joy!  We got to go to a new local barbecue place last night!  Actually, we'd been there in March before IT happened, and hadn't been able to go back since.

Ate great and gave ourselves a case of the bloats.  It was worth it!  But next time, small portions.

Tonight, chicken pot pies.

Maybe next weekend our favorite Italian place will be fully open.

Happy Sunday and best wishes and birthday greeetings to all concerned!

I got the box out, I have 10 post war whistle tenders and a bunch of others

I have to ask, have you been doing what I've been doing?

For the past several years I've been buying what I call "orphan" tenders at train shows, that is, tenders with no locomotives to go with them.

Then I repaint and decal them for various 'roads. When I want to change 'roads with a post-war I just change the tender.  Sure is cheaper than hunting down and buying a ton of locomotives! Wink

HOT!!! We went from heat on to AC, nothing in the middle. Should be in the 70s not 90s.

A trip to Menards only produced about half of my list of wants. Place is a nut house with PEOPLE. Oh well just money I did not spend.  Indifferent I did see a nice log splitter at Stock and Field. Wink

Anybody have the Lionel Looney Tunes cars ? If you do they may be collectors items before to long. Elmer Fudd has had his shotgun taken away and Yosemite Sam has had his six shooter taken away. PC !  Bang Head

Evening folks!

Been awfully busy the last few days. Allergy/sinus issues flattened me with several nights of little to no sleep, and at my age loss of sleep is a killer. Anyway, got a real 7 hrs last night so felt somewhat better today.

The Mrs and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary yesterday. Son and daughter cooked. Steaks on the charcoal Weber. Baked taters and salads. Most excellent! Son, his GF, daughter and SIL in attendance.

Today was my daughters 29th bday. Had another party here with her favorite, fried pork chops, gravy, mashed taters, baked broccoli, and scratch yellow cake with chocolate icing! As the wife says, what can go wrong with butter, sugar, and cocoa?

Regards, Roy

Morning.  77 and humid.  Of to Fred's to help him with a project.

Pam's Uncle has lots of collectable train cars.  Doesn't know what he has.  He is a "junk" collector and "paw" guy.

Have a good one.

Happy anniversary Roy to you and the better half!!!!!  Drinks

Roy, I have bad Allergy/sinus issues as well. What helps me the most is doing a NeilMed sinus rince followed by two shots of Generic Flonase (fluticasone) before bed. That makes a world of help with sleep.

Another hot one today then rain tonight from Cristobal moves in. Storm

This is the stuff we use Roy.

Sun and 90 today.

Granny Pat is home as of yesterday afternoon. She seemed to have a decent night. Got to shower this morning, back to the water. She did like that. She came downstairs, took a pain pill and is now sleeping on the couch. My MTH soap box is on the MTH thread.

Well that begs a new question. If the "guns" are deemed to violent for cartoons are they going to address the much more gruesome violence that is constantly shown in video games ?

Shhhhhh, that's a question you're not supposed to ask!  It makes too much sense!

Besides, who cares what they do?  "Looney Tunes" hasn't been the same since Mel Blanc died anyway!

By way of example...

Evenin' boys.  Sunny & hot today at Ridgeley Yard.  Greeted Trains editor Jim Wrinn, and his lovely wife.  He bought me a sandwich.  No one ever did that for me before.  No, I didn't attach myself to his leg afterwards...  Also greeted the Hulcher crew, and their four CAT 583K boom tractors.  Awesome machines.  I asked the GM to buy me, I mean the railroad, one.  Work also continues on our open air car.  The shop guys started to install the mesh for the lower sides, and it looks great.  Tomorrow is the re-wheeling of 2-6-6-2 1309.   I believe TRAINS Magazine is live-streaming the event.  Some guy cleared brush and foliage, so that the general public could walk up to the fence, and get a good view of the goings on.

Sad about MTH.  I've got a lot of purple boxes, as well as orange/yellow ones.  I wish Mike well.

Evening folks!

A warm one today at 95, but not unpleasant. Sunny. Cool front tonight.

Spent the day working on a layout where the DCS signal is not working with/through Lionel BPC2 relays. Track signal 10 when not going through a relay - I.e. constant power to track. Track signal 0-2 through a relay for a switched power block/track. Typical witch hunt, science project that can take days to resolve. Not a fan...

Fife - sounds cool! I will try to take a look.

Regards, Roy

Hello there, should be sleeping but wide awake.

Glad granny Pat is home.

That's bs about looney tunes. We're creating a generation of wusses.

I could care less about MTH. Their HO stuff is nice but not for me.

Summer definitely here. Hot and humid. Was making hay Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon and today. Got 200 bales on wagons to put in for us. 70 bales delivered to daughters for her goats. Done for a while, storms predicted the rest of the week.

Visit to cardio doc yesterday so so. Did echo, He says heart good me say still can't breathe. Lung doc say lung good. He say ok, we do stress test. Waiting on date for that.

Best try to sleep

Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Wasn't Elmer Fudd's weapon a pop gun?  Why aren't they taking the ray gun from the space man? Bugs Bunny planted many secret bombs and dynamite.
