Morning everyone
Yea I'm still around. I finished the supervisor qualification at work about 10 days ago. It took 3 months but usually takes 9. It helps that I worked with the equipment about 10 years ago. Last week I had to work 88 hours. Not much time left for anything else. I'm off til thursday evening when I start nightshift.
I have had a little time to work on the layout, making progress. I keep saying it is the journey, not the destination.
Got to go, I've got a little electrical job for a friend.
May God bless you and your families
Jim
Hello there,
had a great weekend. Worked the fish fry till 6pm. It was busy, ended up an 800+ night, but replacement had it well in hand.
Saturday AM headed to Lancaster. Did a couple of outlets before a nap at the motel and headed to Mass. After Mass straight to the American Music Theatre. The Oak Ridge Boys were short William Lee Golden who's down with the flu but still did a great show.
Slept late yesterday and had brunch at Cracker Barrel. More shopping included a stop at the Strasburg Train Store. Picked up an early 60s E J & E boxcar by Mantua and a couple magazines from the same era.
Got home about 8PM. We're both wupped. Mrs mostly sat on benches at the oulets, still weak and coughing but pneumonia seems much better. An xray later today to confirm.
Buckeye and RT.....lookn GOOD!!!
Roy.....thanks for the heads up on Win 10 I'm going to try to change the update setting. So far I haven't been able to delay them.
Fife......glad you enjoyed the show. Where was the flea market you were at.
Time to go.
Prayers for those in need

Good morning all,
Had a nice visit with Lucas as he was coming home from visiting his daughter. Watched Man U defeat Man City 2-0 as well. Nice weather for once. As far as wife's eye, it is one day at a time. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mornin' boys. Splended weather along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Not sure what we're doing today, but we'll be doing it outside. Probably go trackside with Tom.
Had a good time with the crew at the Altoona show yesterday. Didn't score any big puchases myseld, just a couple packs of plaster wrap, and some AF couplers to repair a couple S gauge cars. The guys wanted to stop at this indoor flea market nearby, and I really didn't want to go in. I was there 30 seconds, and found some Dept 56 items: an old boat dock, and a stevedore with crane. Both pieces are highly detailed, and wound up fitting beautifully in my canal wharf area. Who knew? Wifey made us a nice steak dinner on the grill, and we watched a DVD on Sand Patch grade, and ran some trains. All-in-all, a good day.
cheapclassics - While reading your post, MY left calf started to tighten up, and my knees started aching. Please, no more pushing it beyond the 8 mile mark. If not for yourself, think of me...
Evening folks!
Been pretty busy the last few days. Not much to report here. Son and I went to a local brew pub yesterday, sat outside - a bit cool/breezy - we had some nice brews and a good chat.
Today was PC maintenance day. Ugh. Been monitoring a particular Win10 update that is a real disaster. Set our PCs (we have seven) for manual updating and continue to use the delay updating feature to allow me to review possible updates so we can avoid the Windows 10 Version 1909. 1903 updates are ok.
Google 'Windows 10 update 1909' and one can see all the issues, which can be catastrophic.
While this issue has been going on for a while, my IT SIL says to wait as MS usually/eventually resolve bad releases. Several months on 1909 and no resolution yet.
MikeC - hope the latest eye surgery on Ms MikeC continues to go well.
Regards, Roy
56 and up from 29. No more freezing temps this week. Going into the 70's this week.
Have a good one.

Good evening all,
Wife's eye laser work went well according to doc (he said that the last 2 times as well...) Went to train show today. Lots of stuff, lots of people, nothing for me. Did 10 miles Friday night. First 8 miles were flying, slowed down 9th mile and hit a wall during the 10th. Still better by almost 20 minutes than last week. Did some miles in under 15:30....walking. I hope everyone has a good day.
Morning. Was cold and windy. 50 and windy later. 70's next week. NO rain.
Of to FIL's to go through more stuff.
Was real busy yesterday [wasn't suppose to be. unplanned].
York, will not spend the $$$. Not worth it for me.
If Fifey comes, great. Will not have to load my weapons like I have to do when Buckeye comes.
Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 34 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Coach train today. Murder Mystery train tonight. Train show in Altoona tomorrow. My buddy Tom is visiting as well, so I spent some time in the train room sprucing things up. Finally got around to "planting" the excellent telegraph poles by DM&M RR Co, that I puchased at YORK a decade ago. They look sharp.
Another beautiful day! Sunny, 64. More on tap for tomorrow.
Dennis - I think I read JBW has metal powder in it? I have had friends repair crankcase leaks, low power engine block water jacket cracks, etc. with JBW.
DJSpanky Tyler has his Junior Formal tonight. Apparently his date's parents are making a big thing of it, so he has to go over to her place early to take pictures. Ummmmm.........okay. Sheeze, it's a friggin' dance.

DJ, Our son will be 41 and our daughter will be 32 this year. And EVERYTHING for their kids is way overblown. I don't get it either?
Very windy but sunny and mid 40s so not too bad.

Evenin' boys. I made out just fine at the doctor's office today. New BP meds, some blood work, and some kinda scopey-thingy in the not-so-distant future. Wifey and I rewarded ourselves with a "cheat" day at the restaurant.
Chief - If Fifepup gets his new job in SC, the prospects of me checking out the famous train box are good. I'll keep you posted.
As for YORK, I don't think they'll cancel.
Another nice one today, mid 50s and sun. A good wind is drying things out. Off to Krogers.
Thanks Roy for the S&B update!
Morning. Cloudy and breezy. Rain on the way.
Will not do York. Probably never will again. Will renew TCA due to buddy, Will Allen, is SE president.
Maybe try and have a get together with some of the guys in the area in states close by.
May get to do more work in Train box today.
Got an open house at airport just north of me. Lady development friend and I are trying to make it into a jet port.
Watched the LEGO show again thinking it might be good. First half was good with a city theme to it, but then they added a twist with monsters and kind of ruined the whole event. Real shame was that people who had a really good build with the city got sent home for the last part, which really did not seem right. Sometimes I kind of wonder about those shows...... Weather is windy. I hope everyone has a good day.
"Eastern Division get scared and cancel?" Corona virus panic?
Hoo boy. I looked up some figures out of curiosity. In 2019 there were 34,000 reported deaths from plain ol' flu here in the US. In 2018 there were 61,000. Corona virus hasn't even come close. I'm not saying there's no cause for concern, but there's no cause for hysteria.
But, never underestimate the power of hysteria. And it seems 30% of the people in this country aren't happy unless they're terrified of something. Go figure.
I'm not planning on any lifestyle changes, and I'm not locking myself away from the world either.
Rain started last night, rained all day, and still raining until late tonight/early tomorrow. 50's right now but weekend will be nice! 70?
I will not make York. Thought about it but it is too much money to commit to have Eastern Div get scared and cancel and/or vendors/member sellers get scared and not show up. Too bad as Southwest really dropped the ticket prices, obviously due to folks cancelling plans. Tics a couple weeks ago were high.
Kev - DonB doing fine. Spoke to him last week. There is a lot going on in his life right now, but they are fine otherwise.
Happy belated birthday Tyler!
Spanky, that 1911 film of New York is stunning, the restoration and half-tone colorization is downright miraculous!
I'm going to try and post it on the "Classic Trains" Forum, we love that stuff!
Just think, there's some old-timers walking the streets in that film who remember the Civil War, especially the gent with the white beard walking toward the camera on one segment. Remember it? It wouldn't surprise me if he fought in it!
These old films do make me just a little sad, it's like watching ghosts, since there's no one in that film who's still living.
Happy Birthday Tyler!
DJ...Nice win for Rutgers. My Boilers beat Iowa again.
Working on the benchwork for the new layout by cutting the OSB. About three years ago, I started looking at my power tool situation and realized I had first class junk except for my drills and power screwdrivers. I now have a new saber saw and a new circular saw. Wow! The new saws are so easy to use.
Will not be making York this year. Hope to be there this fall.
Have a good day.

Binge watched 3 Hill Streets last night. Busy day at work Tuesday. Quieter today. Traffic was a zoo this AM. Ugh Ugh Ugh. Getting way too old for this BS. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hey Chief, Any word from Don Baker?
Full sun, will hit mid 40s today. The cat is outside.
58 and sunny. Not much on agenda. Have a good one.
Mornin' boys. Breezy and 49 in the Potomac Highlands. Have to head back down to railyard today to continue the work I couldn't get done yesterday. Took Wifey for her check-up, and she's done a fabulous job lowering the bp. Tomorrow is my turn...
Saw that 88 posted on WMSR's facebook page. Coming out to see me Brent?
Banks - Liked your post so much, I read it twice. I have my YORK ticket, and as of now I hope to be there Friday.
Gloomy this morning but high in the 40s today. Much better than the usual early March here. We're gonna take a stroll through the new Super Kroger this morning. It's been open for awhile so I guess going there now should be ok.

Not sure how I got the same post twice????
Hello there, started this last night but crashed.
Happy Birthday to Tyler.
After a week of hacking and coughing Mrs decided to go to MedExpress Monday. Yep...she's got pneumonia.
Working on the bathroom every chance I get. Wiring mods in progress. Bought 2x4s today to add studs in the correct locations for the tub surround. The winter that wasn't is almost over. The oak tree in the yard is almost bare and a pair of robins was spotted in the yard. Knock on wood, only plowed snow once and that was about 2 inches of sleet. I renewed my TCA membership amd bought York passes. Who all is coming?? Looking forward to the Oak Ridge Boys on Saturday at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster. Gonna miss the Altoona train show but I've been to many shows, this will be the 6th time seeing the Oaks. Better yet I'll be accompanied by two lovely ladies, Mrs and her niece. Gave the go ahead on a new roof for the farm house. The guy is 35% less than the next. Makes me leary but they're all buying the metal from the same local company. Gonna watch them like a hawk. Best get on with the day. Prayers for those in need
Cloudy day, temps slowly decreasing from 70, 63 right now, maybe 2 in of rain on the way...
Anj - prayers for your mom
Kev - glad you are getting better, sorry it lingered!
Chief, yes reading to the kids is fun. Cat used to have us managers do it several times a year if we wanted to.
Wow, 15 days out and I am still not clear of this crud! It started out like flu and went away fast but just still holding me down two weeks later? I feel like a half flat tire.
Happy birthday to Tyler! Our step grandson Dan Jr. turned 16 yesterday. Time is flying by.
Happy birthday Tyler.
Raining and sometimes hard. Started at 12 noon. Was helping Wifey at the poles this AM. She was working for our friend who is running for state senate. Wonderful lady with careing heart. Should win.
Pizza at my favorite Italian.
Now goofing off.
Love reading to the kids [they love it too].
Quick stop by, working from Princeton Hospital -
Mom has bronchitus and the flu, steroid treatments and IV fluids, hope to have her home this afternoon. She's sleeping now, will check on her in a few.
Overspent at Greenburgs, got Jenni some stuff, she bought some of her own stuff, I did get a K Line abandoned bridge with fisherman for $25 and a wigwag board from JLM in Freehold. The board doesn't work, I'll be emailing him later to see what's up. I did hook it up correctly to my 154 crossbuck, so we'll see.
Been working from home as of late, so it's a nice change. I have to go to a shop and speak with the manager tomorrow, so I'll be on the road - I like the way the font and boldness just changed on the post.....wtf???
OK, will check back later
