Been watching this season of The Orville. Good show and the missus also enjoys it. Will have to catch up on season 2. Also watched The Highwaymen on Netflix. About the 2 Texas Rangers that tracked down Bonnie and Clyde. Really enjoyed that.

Spank, bummer on the car and garage door. The wife pulled one like that a few years ago and backed out of the garage into a tree that had been there ever since we built the place. Knocked 4K worth of damage off her car. Tree did fine.

Friday was a long day, didn't get home until 10ish.....Saturday, got a small section done with grass and started putting some accessories on the the completed sections. I'm really pleased with the results up to now. Spent Saturday night helping a friend move stuff around, her daughter is moving out with her BF (who's become a real a$$h0le), and Sunday, tossing out empty boxes and some light repairs around the house.Got home a did a few more things to the layout. So far so good. Update 11 possible this weekend. Trying to solve a problem with roads and curbing on the Christmas and Main Street part of the layout, once the Spooky Town part is completed. Brutus, hope Char is ok.
Off and running, already had computer issues...Did 22 scans Friday...up to 7 right now.

Good Morning from sunny 34°F Southern Ohio,
Busy weekend! The new bishop of our diocese was installed Friday and it was a really grand affair. Over the rest of the weekend between regular outside and inside work I worked on the layout. I added 8” to the 12 leg of the ell, and reconfigured some of the accessories, and now have four of the accessories working from the control panel.
Oldest girl got her driver’s license Friday; a mixed blessing. She can now help with transporting herself and her siblings, but an increase in coordinating car use.

John - not really. Many of the regular Yorkies here have commented over the past weeks that they are likely not attending.
I will be there as you know. For those going (I.e. Banks) We are planning a breakfast at the Cracker Barrel for Friday morning (as has been our habit the last couple Yorks due to the NY bus crowd hitting the RoC Diner Friday mornings in recent years.
John, I was taking several guys from here that wanted to go. We all are not going now. Actually a waste of money. Except for seeing the gang, nothing to go for. Lionel and Atlas not going. Can buy internet just as cheap. Probably why York is shrinking in numbers.
Will miss the gang.

Afternoon FellasI won't be at York in April... just too much going on. Dealing with 'stupid' stuff related to the Pittsburgh house, keeping the house in MD straight, and dealing with work. Hopefully will be able to make it in October... if they have it?Disappointing that the big players in our hobby are chosing to ignore the people buying their products.
Good afternoon from a cool but okay North Bluff. Calling for rain later so I had to get with it early.
Yesterday the deck was all but done, ran short on 2"x2"s for the last 5 pickets so I got those today and finish it up.
Phase # 5 Railings are done. Nothing left but to let it cure for about two months then some caulk and wood filling and it will be ready for stain.

hard to believe the Pot is 15 years old. I joined in January 08. Miss all those who used to post. Especially the ones that have passed on. Those who remain don't post as much they once did. Lot's going on. Contractor started yesterday . All three roofs and the back porch are off and felt is down to keep things dry. About 15% of the house roof back on.

Just got back from our Michigan place late Monday night. Up early again today to take my wife into K.C. for a follow up appointment with the pulmanary doctor. The outpatient proceedure she had done a couple of months ago is doing what it was supposed to - all is good. The rest of the week will be spent with a little time working on the layout at the museum and getting set up for the robotics meet that the local high school is hosting this weekend.
While we were up north, the lakefront house across the street went up for sale. That property is two lakefront lots with a small house built on one of them. I called the realator to see if they would split the lots and just sell us the empty one. Nope.
We are afraid that the new owners would build a garage or tear down the current house and build a larger one and end up blocking the view of the lake we have from our back yard, so we put a good enough offer on it to get the sale. We will own the view of the lake now.
Don't really need the house, but we now have the empty lot. Figure we will use the new house while we do some rennovations on our current house, then sell it this fall or next spring.
I've floated the idea of using that lakefront house as a train house with my wife. Didn't seem to go over very well.

A VERY VERY belated HAPPY 60th to SJ and Pat. That is really huge!!Glad to hear Char did well and on the way to recovery.Our situation is about the same, FIL had pacemaker and defibrillator removed today. (Due to infection as a result of replacing it two weeks ago. The old one's battery was almost dead.) The plan was to remove the one just installed, then allowing the chest to heal a little, and ensure all the infection was gone, this was anticipated to take 4-5 days. Then put in a new one, #3 in. It was determined today that a "temporary" pacemaker is required, so they have one attached to his neck, until the permanent is installed. Given his current WEAK condition I have doubts he will make it through the week. Last thing he needs now is extended bed restriction.MIL is "doing well" had to explain to her 10-15 times what was going on, and that he was going to be having another surgery but she insists know one told her.So on it goes.On a much brighter side, Chris found a situation where we may work the Long Beach Grand Prix, checking credentials. That would be cool.Take Care All !!
It's ALIVE! It's ALIIIIIVVVEEE!!! Spent yesterday rebuilding the AF 303 Reading 4-4-2. It's only been waiting for 3 years on the bench. To be honest, it's my first AF rebuild. Kinda took me back to my HO days (I could strip down and rebuild ATHEARN locos ). The 303 had suffered a few drops, as evidences by broken screw housings, and bent siderods. Simply worked each issue, and removed a lot of sawdust from its inerds. Then onto the track. A hum. A few clicks. A nudge or two. Then it spring to life; light shining, smoke puffing, chuffer chuffing. It is very satisfying bringing a toy train that had been dormant for 4 decades back to life.
Morning. 51 and sunny. Warming fast. Glad all OK.

Good Morning from beautiful sunny 54°F Southern Ohio,
I sorted out a few more accessory wires from the control panel last night in preparation to land them on the layout terminal blocks. I’m glad I labeled the wires and maintained a color scheme. In typical AF fashion Black = Base, Yellow = accessory power, Green = primary function, Red = secondary function, White = alternative base. Still moving the accessories around a bit, but the plan is firming up. I’m liking it!
Fife - Congratulations on the revival! You have captured the source of my enjoyment in the toy train hobby.

Don - Prayers of God’s will for your FIL, and I sooo understand your conversation with you MIL, as my bride’s mom’s health also is in decline and she like Kay is the primary caregiver
