Aloha. So much for the wallop of snow we were supposed to get last night. I drove home in sleet but woke up to just the grass covered and the roads clear. I even wore my big stomp-y winter boots. :) Today, it is supposed to snow / rain (snain) again but nothing yet. It's been a nice quiet week of meetings and followup. Looking forward to puttering around with the layout tonight as the bride goes out with her friends.

About the same no big thing here Doug! Plenty of salt for sure.

Cold and damp to the bone.

Sold my second guitar in two weeks. Bought my two last HO locomotIves, a new Atheran DCC CN SD40-2 and a used Proto 2000 DC CN GP7. And, enough left over to start a sizeable store credit for all the O scale stuff I ordered.

Spank - Yikes!! I guess I'll shut up over the few flurries at lunch today.....

DJ/Old School - Another nice guitar! So, I'm curious what the prices and O gauge selection are like at your local hobby shop.

I haven't bought anything O off the shelf at the hobby shop except a 1991 used wheel car for $40+tax! so I'm not sure because I haven't looked closely. Everything I ordered is from the new Lionel and MTH catalogs. There will be the usual exchange rate the retail markup. I asked them not to add it all up cause I know it will be $10k or so. Fortunately the six locomotives won't come out until the fall so I have time to build up my store credit.

The shop is just starting to build up their O selection -still small but will be growing this year - the owner is N scale but three of the staff are O.

Prices for HO have been quite reasonable and similar to, if not better than, other dealers that I have seen at model train shows.

Since Barry and I were both in the latter stages of Congestive Heart Failure we exchanged a few recipes that were really low in salt but still tasted good.

Evening all!

A very nice day today at 65. Several similar days on tap this week.

SJ - winter appears in full retreat here! Some trees are starting to bud out.

Dougnotta - keep on keepin' on!

Scratch - that's a lotta scratch!

DJ and you and the nor'eastern guys - hope this storm is not as bad as predicted.

Regards, Roy

Good evening all,

Lousy day.  Everything went to hockey sticks in a handbasket.  At least supper was good tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Roy tree leaves are probably 2 months away but the spring bulbs have broke ground and growing. They can get buried under snow but it doesn't hurt them.

My Storm app is predicting mostly rain Thursday and Friday. I've been outside in sweaters for a month now. Amazingly mild winter. I only remember one like it since moving to Nova Scotia from northern Alberta in 1979. I noticed one business that specializes in lawn mowers and snow blowers has closed it's doors for good.

Hello there,

not much time last couple o days. After sending another beef to the butcher  I  spent a couple hours yesterday making repairs on our 1947 ship spreader. A casting that supports one of the beaters was broke. After finding all the stuff I welded it with oxy/acetylene. Used some high nickel aloy made for cast. Then replaced a bent bar in the drag chain. Capped the day off helping son and his cousin grind a ton of feed for the remaining beef.

Had follow up with surgeon today. The lymph node removed was officially benign. Big relief.

PT Guy thinks my back pain is caused by my stiff broken ankle and out of wack hip. Feeling slightly better already.

Looking forward to the Altoona train show  this weekend.

Struggling to stay awake.

Prayers for those in need

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 26 out there.  Pretty chilly in here....

It was great seeing Brent and the family on Saturday.  The kids are growing up so fast, and the Q looked great.

Angel for those whom need them.

LOL! She said it looked like you lost some weight... what's with this? Wink

Yes the kids are growing up way too fast! Hard to believe Christina is 6.5 years old and Matthew is 5!

Wish some people would learn to leave well enough alone. Some stuff amoungst The Pot Regulars happened years ago and making assumptions does no one any good. A simple question got blown out of proportion... again. Sad. It is what has caused some to depart and not return.

It has been confirmed that I will have a table for show and tell at the June Maritime Federation of Model Railroaders Annual Convention in Truro, Nova Scotia. Going to be a lot of fun.

Tonight is band night at the pub. All my pieces have been rehearsed and I'm ready to make my old Strat and my old voice go places they have never gone before!

Watched an old episode of Get Smart last night on YouTube. One of my favourite shows back in the day. I was almost in shock when a Chaos agent turned out to be Leonard Nimoy - how did I never know this before now!! And he killed two Control agents from a shooting briefcase no less!

My wife returns from Calgary on Friday morning so I am going to have to do a week's worth of dishes, vacuum and sweep, and tidy up all her antique tables that have model train stuff all over them! Also need to bring in some firewood before we get that rain coming up the US eastern seaboard.

Cold morning,

28, may get to 32 but bright sun. We have 3/4" of snow and that is about it.

I think the system is moving east slower than they thought.

Yesterday, I pulled out the refrigerator from the wall yesterday to see if it needed cleaning on the coils. WOW cat hair makes a mess. This thing is not two years old and it was packed with cat hair. So I vacuumed it out and cleaned the floor. Should be good now. With the wood floors and no carpet to suck up the hair it all goes there.

I get tired of some who always want to play point counter point to Brent no matter what thread you post on or where. Wish it would stop but I doubt that. Speaking your mind is fine with me whoever wants to, as long as everyone can do the same. Same thing with back door or under rug comments. But these open to the public forums are in constant flux. There are plenty private forums where someone can run the show. People come and go here. All you got to do is look around on FB to see everyone wants to push there way of thinking on everyone else and that is just BS. Why I don't follow anyone. Just the way it is. Zip it! Enough SoapBox

Morning.  42 degrees.  Bouncing up and down.  Suppose to go into the mid to upper 50's.  Better get at it.  Guessers may miss it again.

Prayers for those north of us.

Not much Town wise on agenda until late this afternoon.  A group of young guys who just graduated from gunsmith school want to talk about a range and gun shop.  Interesting.

Hope all have a good one.

Aloha. Cold but sunny. Fortunately no snow anywhere. Hope this noreaster passes swiftly out east without causing problems. A nice quiet night spent rearranging the layout. My MTH AF coal loader is acting up so that has to be looked into.

Wow been tough as of late, Last week Wife's sister.

So now I just got a call from my cousin Tom. Cousin Terry in Florida is in hospice with his kidneys shut down and lungs filling with liquid. Don't sound like it will be long.

Also Cousin Sandy has cancer in an advanced stage. He was going to call her next about Terry. That will be three out of five cousins in that family gone soon.

Ugh! Tongue Tied

You guys in the path of the storm, Be safe out there!

Thank you Mike,

Nothing much anyone can do.  You either out live them or they out live you.

Kev,

Sorry to hear about your cousins, sometimes it can be a blessing in disguise.  I've seem many folk living a miserable life as a result of advanced medical care.  Never makes it easy though, thank god we have all the memories to reflect on.

Morning.  36 degrees and warming.  Cloudy and rain possible this evening.  Bust Town day starts at 10:30.  Ends sometime later tonight.

Glad to see some reporting in.  Miss those who do not post regularly.

Speaking of those who do not, where is that lazy Buckeye and his report on his retirement.  Still say, how do you retire from work when yu don't really work? Whistling

We have green grass, north of us is getting snow. About 2 inches expected here today. The bright side of March snow is it won't stay long like during the winter. Kev so many of our family and friends have had cancer, I just don't know what to say anymore..

Your right SJ. Huh? I don't know what to say either? Cancer is so hard for all.

No green here but it is trying. The tiger lilies are looking out of the ground just a little. Today will be sunny and low 30s.

Going to get take out Chinese for lunch. Dinner

Aloha. Cold and sunny. Braces off the youngest child early this am! Woo hoo - so glad they are done.  Just two  more payments for that... Then ran up to the county seat to vote early and renew my drivers license. Taking the vision test was scary when I looked in the little device and saw.... nothing. Because they hadn't turned it on. Whew! Now back to work...
