Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Good weather for walk.  Watched Blue Bloods with wife.  AJ announced Tony Kanaan will be driving the 14 car next season.  I hope this works out.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hello there,
Lot’s going on Mrs and I spent a couple of evenings canning maters this week. Mom seems to be settling down at the home. Tuesday we drove to Cumberland for a visit to the Gyne doc. A follow up to last year’s cancer scare. Clean slate there. Now a mammogram and follow up with the surgeon.

Had hoped to get together with Fife while in Cumberland but we had to head north for a visit with my ortho doc. Doing well and ahead of schedule there.

The thing in Vegas still boggles my mind. …sending prayers their way.

Unusually warm and dry fall to this point. There is a little color in the trees around here but most are turning brown and starting to drop leaves. Noticed signs of the same thing the whole way to Cumberland the other day. Most of the silage corn is cut. The shelling corn isn’t quite ready and the soy beans are getting close.

Grandson has opted to skip the last dirt drag Saturday. He’s far enough ahead in one class that no one can beat him for points. The other class is so so. But unless there is an unusually large turn out the worst he can do is 2nd but probably 1st there too. The father of the injured boy is coming home to hunt for the day (to my knowledge he hasn’t been home since the accident labor day weekend) and SIL and grandson are going to join him.

Son has designs on me spending the weekend helping him farm…..NOT. There is a train show in Altoona Sunday. I’ll be there. Also some yard work to do and several naps to get in.

JOE.........welcome back

ROY………looks like it’ll be You, Laz, Mrs and I at YORK

Doug…………Prayers

Well I best get back to the SS fund.

Prayers for those in need

Burp - recovering from the fair - had a great time and saw some awesome acts (20 trained cats? Who'd a thunk it?), some great horsemanship/trick roping, ..., toured a couple of nice tiny house...

Good morning,

Well I have been up for a hour and I am already beat.  Sleep

Having both of the grand-kids at once is like having two Tasmanian devils Devil Devil in the house. Surprise

I like those bump stocks and was thinking of getting one before all of this, but you can bet your britches that won't happen now.  Yeah

DougDG, I will pray the meds help get you to where you need to be for surgery. Angel

Good Day All !

The results of the PET scan seem to have been like a good news/bad news result. Good news being that there was no other cancer anywhere but the bad news was the location and size of the existing tumor. Due to it's  size and proximity to the diaphragm and the liver that the risk is to high for surgery at this time. The surgeon wants me to be on the anti-cancer drugs for a few months then re-evaluate to see if the tumor has shrunk enuff to reduce the risk.

Back later, gotta run.

Guten abend,

I am posting this quite late as I had a busy day and now it is time for bed. I am looking forward to the long weekend and trying to decide if we want to leave town for the weekend. I don't want to drive far; I'm thinking no more than three hours.  There is plenty to see out here in that range but I have to remember to find places the kids will enjoy.

Fife - Sorry to hear about your BIL.  I will say a prayer for him and your family.

Roy - I only need one word for that: I say "toiletten?" and they point me where I need to go.

Good night,

Joe

Afternoon fellas

Fife - prayers for your BiL. When TheQ's mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer 2 months after our wedding there was nothing they could do. Most painful month and a half of my life.

Kev - prayers for your friend

KRM

Good afternoon,

Nice here today.

Got a beer headache from drinking with Gene last night. Bang Head Got to pick up the grand-kids this afternoon so they can spend the night. Not much else, for tooday.

Prayers for your BIL Fife, bummer.

That's what happens when you haven't had much in a long time. Wink

Just found out there are a number of craft distilleries in the area that are making corn and rye whiskies from local farms. My FiL confiscated a really good white rye whiskey that I picked up at the county fair a few weeks ago. When TheQ returns from her tour of the eastern US I'm hoping we can make a trip to a few and restock.

If I had been a better planner I would have checked with Fife to see if he would be up for a few visitors this weekend... not looking like I could swing it now. Sad

Morning gang!

Sunny, humid, 86 today. Headed to the State Fair mid-morning. Good day for it.

Joe - add "where's the restroom" to your repetoir and you will be set!

Dennis - haha - that is why casinos exist!

A buddy some years back took a family cruise. They opened the casino when they hit international waters. He said it was cheaper to take rolls of quarters and go fling quarters into the ocean - his money lasted longer and it was more fun...

Fife - prayers for your BIL - Kev - prayers for your friend

Mike C - bummer - that is tough for the kids - It was sad/humorous when my kids would walk away exclaiming "we suck" - course getting them to realize that practice was not entirely play time - a different story...

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 60 in the Potomac Highlands.  Gonna be insanely busy next 4 days, as there is a combined B&O-WMHS convention in town.  Might see my mug on some pics.

Wifey's brother simply didn't respond to Kemo.  Running out of time.

Guten abend,

Today's workday was a bit more normal, but after taking the older two kids to the doctor's office for check-ups, then driving them back and forth to soccer and ballet, I am tired. I did find time to have dinner with the wife and the youngest, but am now just settling down for the night and it's already 22:15. I will be off to bed soon.

Fife and Roy - I can barely speak english, let alone deutsche.  I can a say a few phrases (mostly dealing with food and beer); my wife is much better at it.

Prayers for Kev's friend and all of us in need.

Good night,

Joe

Detroit has 3 casinos and Michigan has them all over the place. My wife and I enjoy them it is our Disney or a pro sporting event. However we have a loss limit and that way we have an enjoyable afternoon and win or lose we had fun. But it is NOT the place to invest your future.

Good morning,

Well I went to the hardware store and got new SS screws for the plow headlight buckets to replace the rusty ones and two self-tappers to bolt the elect connector to the bumper and that job is done. Let it snow!

Light rain is the word for today. My friend Gene from Denton TX is coming over this afternoon and will spend the night for a visit. That will be nice. He has a sick Aunt in southern IL he needed to see so he figured as long as he was this close he would do a swing by and see all of us up here.

Just coasting the rest of today.

Thanks for the prayers for Brian guys!

Morning all!

A bit overcast and 80's on tap today. Had a good rain yesterday so the humidity dropped just a little bit. We plan to go to the State Fair tomorrow.

Dennis - 80? I thought your freeways were so crowded you couldn't get over 35!

Kev - sorry about your neighbor Angel

MikeC - hope next season is better! I had a couple of seasons like that with my basketball teams. Obviously no where to go but up!

York cometh!

Good evening all,

Good weather for soccer game.  Unfortunately, "my" soccer girls phoned this one in as they lost 10-0.  Work was busy.  Only games left are for the grandkids.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening from beautiful 72°F Southern Ohio,

The exchange student living with us hurt his leg in soccer practice yesterday.  Nothing broke or torn but his hip was twisted badly.  My bride was with him till almost midnight in the urgent care.

The roof is completed on the new garage and the cedar siding and garage door is ordered.  After that we’ll get the power to the garage via conduit, pouring the concrete apron and blending into the existing driveway, final grade and ground work and then I’ll start the interior electric.  Can’t wait to get the truck in out of the weather.

Oldest girl went dress shopping with some friends for a dance and I was really proud of her choice.  She had a reasonable max price, modest cut and fit in mind and she stuck to it.  She is a great kid!

Joe – You never go wrong with pizza!

May God bless

Jim

Evening all!

It was an ugly 90 degree super humid day. Overcast. No real respite til next week.

Joe and Fife - sprecken ze Irish?

Dennis - agree with Ray, you are a good friend!

Brent - ahhh, sports extravaganza, you will likely be happy if just one kid is big on it, that way you do not have to flip a coin to see which matches you and the Q split up for.

Dougnotta - hope your pets scan comes out ok!

Guten abend,

It was a busy, busy day at work today.  It seemed a new problem arose every few minutes and I was never able to accomplish the tasks I planned to complete today. Oh well, it will all be there tomorrow. The wife was not feeling well so I brought home pizza for dinner; no complaints on that. It is time to relax and enjoy a glass of wine before getting some sleep.

Fife - Your German is great.  Big Smile

Good night,

Joe

Right Doug, This is it for the 80s Fall is here. Fields are getting cleared out as fast as they can.

They beat the hatch door out to where it will open and close if needed, put plastic over where the window was and taped it up so we can use it if we need it till they get all the parts and can get it in for the repair.

Car looks like something you would see down there around Chief and RT's area. Laugh  Looks real hillbilly,,, Wink

Going to Harbor Freight to get some dollies to make the snow plow storage rack I want. So I can just un-pin it and roll it away from the truck when I don't need it on the Ranger.

Better get going.

Mornin' Fellas

Been lower than normal the past week around Mt Airy, warming back up for the weekend. Christina's soccer team isn't gelling and it is starting to get her down. We watched a segment on 60 Minutes about US Soccer Star Christian Pulisic (sp) and she seemed to be rather interested. We'll see. She's been asking about basketball recently and registration just opened... so maybe we'll discuss that? She is really active for a 6 yo, Matthew... not-so-much. He would rather read a book than kick a ball. Oh well.

TheQ is starting a long multi-city trip on Thursday... Orlando, Buffalo, NYC, then some small town in CT. She'll be gone for 10 days... ugh.

Aloha from a sunny Chicago. I think Kev might agree today's 80s might be the last for a while. Sorry about the car being rear-ended by the tree like that. That happened to our little Yaris years ago and it just fell apart. We hjave a bypass road with a 50 mph speed limit that turns into a left turn lane and if you're not paying attention, you can run into the stopped cars. That's what happened then... Dennis, you are very kind to help out your friend. Rich, that is a classy move about the step-son's wedding. Any job news? Fife, did you find anything tasty at Frostberfest?
